DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES Recap: A Vision’s Just a Vision
December 8, 2008 by Kath Skerry
Tonight’s episode is the last episode of 2008, and it was a great one; there were some laughs and a big reveal.
Katherine and Mike’s relationship is starting to take off and Katherine wants to spend more time with MJ. MJ, however, has something else in mind: he wants his parents to get back together. All this leads to an emotional scene between Mike and Susan. Susan tells might that a part of her still believes there’s a chance of them getting back together and Mike refuses to acknowledge her. I thought this scene was touching. It shows that even when two people divorce they’re still tied together in some way. Personally, I think it’s obvious that they will get back together at some point, but I’m in no rush to see it happen. I like them better separately.
In one of the biggest events from the episode Porter was arrested for burning down the club. And to top it off, his alibi was that he was stealing a gun from Edie’s house. The bail is set at $20,000 and to be able to afford it Lynette puts up the pizzeria as collateral. So when Porter skips town in fear of retribution from Anne’s husband and Preston pretends to be Porter, Lynette has no choice but to let one of her son’s pay for the other’s mistake. I know that Tom and Lynette’s only means of support is the pizzeria but I still don’t agree with them deciding to let Preston take the fall for Porter. There’s a line and they crossed it.
Carlos has finally gotten his sight back and can now see how much Gabby has had to sacrifice to take care of him and the girls. When Carlos sold his beloved baseball to buy Gabby her dress I realized how much they really do love each other. And not to sound corny, but the scene where Carlos sees his daughters for the first time was truly touching.
Bree finds out that Alex and Andrew are now living together and shows a surprising amount of tolerance and support for their relationship. Even after finding out that Alex was in an adult movie, her only concern was for Andrew’s feelings. This just showed how much Bree has changed over the last five years. Before, she and Andrew could barely stand to be in a room together and now they’re closer than ever and actually have a healthy relationship for once.
Now, on to the big reveal of the evening. It turns out that my guess as to Dave’s motives was correct: he’s after Mike because it was his wife and daughter who were in the car that Mike hit. Now that we know who Dave is after and why, I can’t wait to find out what his revenge plan is. I’m thinking it must be something horrible; he did save Mike from a fiery death only to kill him another way after all.
So what did you guys think about tonight’s episode? Did you guess right concerning who Dave was after and why?

I believe Dave will try to kill Susan and MJ or Katherine and MJ. He says he will be joining his family as soon as Mike has the same thing happen to him as what happened to Dave (or something to that effect). The little girl playing Dave’s daughter is adoreable.
I think Anne is right, he’s not out to kill Mike so much as to make him suffer through the same thing he did.
This season has made me fall in love again with Gabby!!
She’s so nutty and petty but gosh darn it she has heart!!
Her and Carlos have transformed from that crazy selfish couple to a solid loving and commited married couple and i love it! That scene when Carlos finally see’s his daughters…very touching!!
Not loving Lynette right now, the charactor isso much smarter than she has been portrayed this year.
I fear that Dave will try and hurt MJ and either Susan or Katherine as revenge and then kill himself….
