THE BIG BANG THEORY: Penny’s Gift to Sheldon

Rolling off my chair – yup, pretty much my reaction when Sheldon accepted Penny’s Christmas gift on last night’s THE BIG BANG THEORY. Jim Parson’s has been woefully overlooked time and time again by the award show czars and I really can’t figure out why. His subtle but present physical comedy in this scene is just fantastic.

…and they hug!!!

    I truly thought that when this show premiered it was going to get old quick, but I have been proven wrong. This is the first show in a long time that I am guaranteed to laugh out loud while watching.

    Yes, that scene was wonderful.

    But the overal episode bugged me a little. Here Leonard is all hung up on Penny again, with no mention of his currect girlfriend.

    Now this was a Christmas episode, when Sheldon came back into the room with all of the gift baskets (which you knew he was going to) it was just gold.. he is a genius and I love this show a lot. True confessions but didn’t his thoughts on gift giving hit home, they did for me.

    Loved this episode, and Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco in particular. I was dying! They have great comedic chemistry together.

    Billiam – I agree…why no mention of Leonard’s new girlfriend? Maybe the shows are airing out of order or something?

    Lisa – Sheldon’s gift reciprocation theory was so true, I agree with you. I was watching thinking, “okay, that’s not nerdy – that’s just common sense”, lol.

    I’ve watched this show from the beginning and always thought it was funny, but it gets better each week! Sheldon’s reaction to the gift, especially when he talks about Leonard Nimoy’s DNA, had me laughing so hard! Penny is such a sweet, likable character and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is phenomenal!! I echo those who say he should be winning awards left and right!

    I too was wondering why there was no mention of Stephanie! weird. But I still dug the episode. I looooooved Sheldon’s reaction to his gift.
