Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Saturday, January 3, 2009
January 3, 2009 by Kath Skerry
The good and the bad of the new GMMR design is that with the ‘TV Spotlight’ on the home page, I’m forced to update it everyday. Even on Saturdays when there usually isn’t anything on. Here’s a few shows I picked out. Something you’re looking forward to watching? Let me know in the comments.
Happy New Year, Charlie Brown | 8pm on ABC
While other Peanuts plan a holiday, Charlie Brown struggles with “War and Peace.” [GMMR: It’s always something with you Charlie Brown. Believe it or not I don’t recall this Charlie Brown special. I’m sure I’ve seen it. Is this the one where Charlie mopes around and says ‘Good Grief’ or was that the other one. Love you, Charles.]
Game Show in My Head | 8pm on CBS
In this new series from Ashton Kutcher, a personal trainer from Utah performs crazy, outrageous and embarrassing tasks while walking around the big city, guided by instructions from a hidden earpiece, in hopes of winning cash. [GMMR: I liked it better when Ellen DeGeneres did it. But I’m not an Ashton hater like most, so I’ll probably check it out if I’m home…which hopefully I won’t be.]
Sleepless in Seattle | 8:30pm on ABC
In this classic romantic tale, a Baltimore newswoman falls for a Seattle widower she hears on talk radio, thanks to his meddling son. [GMMR: I got this description online & instead of “meddling son” it said moppet son. I didn’t know what moppet meant. I mean, I know muppet, but not moppet. Anyway, I changed it.]
GMMR’s Useless Information Tidbit of the Day…
One of the many, many gifts my sister Karen gave me for Christmas was a daily calendar of useless information. I opened it and told her that these factoids would be great for the blog. She thought so too, and that’s why she bought it in the first place. So everyday (or at least everyday I remember) I’ll post about useless tidbit of info for you to share to dazzle all you meet.
“For many years, the globe on the NBC Nightly News spun in the wrong direction. On January 2, 1984, NBC finally set the world spinning in the proper direction.”

I like that we can get a quick look at your TV picks on the home page, but I’m glad you didn’t get rid of the full post. As much as I like knowing what’s on TV I can get that info anywhere. What I really like is your funny little ad ons.
I love the new facts at the bottom. Good job to your sister.
I, personally, will be watching my Indianapolis Colts (hopefully) beat up on the San Diego Chargers tonight. GO BIG BLUE!
And I will, hopefully, be watching the Chargers killing the Colts 🙂 As well as some Vanessa Marcil Lifetime movie LOL Quite the combo.
I loved the Charlie Brown New Years’ special. I couldn’t remeber seeing it before either. Maybe they just haven’t shown it in a while.
“The challenge from Android is a real one, and Google will slowly gain additional share in the tablet market that will allow developers to make more money from the Android platform, so Apple needs to further cultivate developer relationships and make the interaction with the company as frictionless as possible,” Van Baker, a Gartner analyst said.
