Tonight’s TV Spotlight: Thursday, January 8, 2009
January 8, 2009 by Kath Skerry
Why is that all the regular Thursday shows are back with new episode, but I’ve got to wait until the 15th for a new episode of THE OFFICE?!
I’m going out tonight so here’s to hoping the DVR doesn’t fail me. I haven’t been this excited about an episode of GREY’S ANATOMY for quite some time. Eric Stoltz will be guest starring. Eric Stoltz…as in Keith Nelson from ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’ (and about a million different project, but SKoW is a one of my favorite movies).
So here’s a smattering of what’s new on TV tonight. Tell me, what will YOU be watching?
Ugly Betty | 8pm on ABC
“Dress for Success”
Betty juggles work and family as she struggles to impress Jodie Papadakis (Bernadette Peters), the editor running YETI; rivalry between Mode and ELLE heats up.
My Name is Earl | 8pm on NBC
“Got the Babysitter Pregnant”
Earl tries to makes amends with a woman who used to babysit him; Joy tries to tell Darnell that she lost his beloved pet.
Grey’s Anatomy | 9pm on ABC
“Wish You Were Here”
Bailey and Seattle Grace’s new pediatric surgeon try to save the life of a longtime patient; the admission of a death row inmate angers Derek; Izzie tells Alex that she has been seeing Denny.
30 Rock | 9:30pm on NBC
“Senor Macho Solo”
Jenna fears that Liz’s attraction to a new guy (Peter Dinklage) is related to her desire for a baby; Jack helps Tracy and his wife (Sherri Shepherd) arrange a “post-nup.”
Private Practice | 10pm on ABC
“Contamination”
A measles outbreak forces Oceanside into a quarantine; Naomi pressures Addison into working with Wyatt on a fertility case; Pete and Violet wonder if their relationship should move to the next level.
ER | 10pm on NBC
“Separation Anxiety”
Gates gets upset with Sam; Neela treats a young girl with sickle cell anemia; Dr. Banfield and her husband make a decision about the future of their family.
GMMR’s Useless Tidbit of the Day…
“Statistically, the safest age of life is ten years old.”

Complaining about the lack of an Office ep right along with you!
No Office?? Boo.
I don’t think even Eric Stoltz is enough to get me to watch Grey’s, but I’m with you on SKoW!! The kiss between Keith and Watts on the car is one of the best scenes ever. I can still hear the song in my head perfectly!!
Holy crap – it’s a good thing I check your site! I assumed b/c no Office that other shows would be re-runs! I’ll be watching Grey’s, Private Practice (am I the only one???) and 30 Rock. And I also can’t wait for SNL Saturday!
I hope my TiVo works recording Grey’s because I think I am going to watch Some Kind of Wonderful! I Love it. And although I watch grey’s already the extra bonus of Eric Stoltz is great. And yes the kissing scene with Keith and Watts is the best! “do you think you can deliver the kiss that kills?” 😉
