Sneak Peek at the Premiere of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
January 16, 2009 by Kath Skerry
[REPOSTING from January 12th]
Cancel your plans this Friday night. The NBC season premiere of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS is this Friday, January 16th at 9pm and you don’t want to miss it.
In me personal opinion, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS is the best drama on TV today. It doesn’t get the awards of recognitions outside of the voice of the critics and the love from its dedicated fans, but FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS is the real deal. A beautiful, funny and important television show, the likes of which can’t be found anywhere else on television today.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen all of this season of FNL and I can say for certain that it doesn’t falter. Not once. Take note of the 13 episodes you will see this season because I’m not sure a show like this will come around again anytime soon.
For those of you who need a little FNL fix and just can’t wait until Friday’s premiere, here is an extended sneak preview of the premiere episode. The clip, which runs just over 14 minutes, isn’t the first minutes of the show but rather a montage of scenes from the episode. A lot is covered so please only watch it you are prepared to be spoiled.
Enjoy!
If you have never seen FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS you can start watching this Friday without issue. You’ll be compelled to watch the first two seasons, but you need not have watched them to fully enjoy this third season.
For all of you that are already fans then please do what you can to become an evangelist for the show. A fourth season doesn’t seem likely, but it doesn’t stand a chance without our support. Spread the word and show the love.
If you are planning on watching FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS for the first time tonight, give us all a heads up. We’d like to formally welcome you to the team!

I cannot wait for Friday, and the return of one of my favorite TV dramas. All hail January and the return of good TV.
“Clear minds, full hearts, can’t lose” God, I can’t wait for this show to be back!! Hopefully everyone feels the same and ratings go through the roof.
It helps that this is one of the shows that actually has heart that is left on TV. Everyone still has hearts right?
Kath, the episode that aired on DirectTV last week wasn’t the season finale was it? Okay, I just checked the DirectTV website and I can stop panicking because I see that the finale is airing this week. Whew!!
To those who haven’t been lucky (or sneaky) enough to see the third season yet, DO NOT MISS IT – not even once. Every hour is worth treasuring; it’s that good. I don’t normally talk like a Hallmark card, but this show just brings it out of me I guess – I can’t even say in words how much I love it and how much you will too if you give it a shot. To anyone who thought the show dropped a bit in quality in Season Two (I know there are some of you out there), you can’t let that stop you from watching S3 because as good as I thought last season was overall, S3 really does remind me of the beauty and perfection of S1.
Finally, to those of you who’ve been watching S3 on the sly because you don’t live in the States (who, me?) or you don’t have DirectTV, I encourage, no implore you to watch it all over again on NBC. They need our ratings and I know it’s not a chore to watch FNL a second time around. Do it. Do it for Riggins.
So on a whim last night, I went over to the NBC website and started watching the first season since I’ve heard so many people (including you!) rave about it. I was hooked/obsessed after the 1st episode! I stayed up way too late watching, and can’t wait to finish the season and move on to number two. I’m sorry I came onto the craze so late!
so excited, i have been avoiding anything online refering to the show cause i want to be surprised and go in fresh, its been tuff but just a few days away….
Can’t wait for the finale this week on DirectTV! Literally just started watching this show in September and am fully caught up. Seriously people, it’s good.
Please help us get a S4 by recruiting new fans! This show is simply amazing. Check out our site and join the Facebook group that is trying to get 1,000,000 new fans to show NBC that we need a S4 and beyond.
NBC Pres. Angela Bromstad recently said: “We feel very strongly about Life, Friday Night Lights and Lipstick Jungle. We won’t replace shows that are loved by fans just for the sake of putting another show on.”
Let’s hope she means that!
I’m so excited for season 3. From reading the summary of tonight’s episode, I had no idea that Jeremy Sumpter (AKA Peter Pan) had joined the cast.
I’ll be sure to join the Facebook group while inviting my friends too. The only problem I have with the Facebook group is that there are other groups with the same objective but with different wording in their headers (reminds me of all those groups that are trying to break the guinness book of records). If only we can all ban together and combine all the “save friday night lights” groups to one group, it would make more sense.
Even thought I’ve already seen the episodes I’m definitely watching them all again! The season is amazing- every episode seemed perfect
