Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Wednesday, January 28, 2009
January 28, 2009 by Kath Skerry
Wednesday night TV is all kinds of awesome. It’s packed with good shows, but not over packed to the point its overwhelming. Of course I’m excited for LOST and DAMAGES, but I must admit that I’m way too excited to see the trainwreck that is sure to be A VERY DUGGAR WEDDING. It’s a repeat tonight which means I somehow missed it the first time around. How is this possible?! The Duggars throw a wedding? Josh and Anna finally kiss? Sex advice from father to son? It’s a fire den of creepiness…I can’t wait!!
May I ask…what are YOU watching?
Lost | 9pm on ABC
“Jughead”
Desmond looks for a woman who might be the key to helping Faraday stop the island’s unpredictable movements through time; Locke finds out who has been attacking the survivors. [GMMR: Expect another solid episode of LOST tonight. There is one particular ‘holy frak’ moment that I didn’t see coming that I can’t wait to get your take on. This particular moment seems to be a major reveal that has dictated and will dictate the fate of the Survivors, the Others as well as many others (small “o”). How’s that for ambiguous?]
Lie to Me | 9pm on Fox
“Moral Waiver”
A female soldier accuses a commanding officer of sexual assault; the team investigates a potential athletic bribe. [GMMR: Did you watch this show last week? Talk to me. Should I be watching?]
Damages | 10pm on FX
“Hey! Mr. Pibb!“
Patty works to clear Daniel in his wife’s murder; Ellen and Tom go to West Virginia to gather vital information in the case against Ultima National Resources. [GMMR: So excited for a new episode of DAMAGES. That is all.]
Life on Mars | 10pm on ABC
“Take a Look at the Lawmen”
A longtime rivalry between two precincts heats up when a bank robbery appears to have links to the Russian mafia; a young, attractive social worker catches Sam’s eye. [GMMR: Who knew? I thought this show had gone off the air.]
Also playing…
- American Idol | 8pm on Fox: Auditions continue.
- Law & Order | 10pm on NBC: The owner of a trucking company, Vic Russell, is found dead after a business meeting; detectives uncover information that leads them to believe that Russell had ties to the Russian mob.
- Top Chef | 10pm on Bravo: A Super Bowl cook-off against seven all-stars from previous seasons.
- A Very Duggar Wedding | 10pm on TLC: In case you missed it the first time around (like I did)… Josh Duggar, the oldest of 18 children, prepares to tie the knot with Anna Keller.
GMMR’s Useless Tidbit of the Day…
“Dr. Seuss coined the word nerd in his 1950 book If I Ran the Zoo.”

I thought Lie To Me was great, which just means it’ll be cancelled pretty early on. I think you should watch it. It’s pretty cool to see the signs people are lying and how they show clips of famous people lying to compare. You can see the pilot online for free.
Reading your description of LOST makes me so mad that I signed up for my lab at that time. I have to wait to watch it on Thursdays everyday this semester, so I have to wait another 24 hours to stay away from gigantic spoilers. Grr. Well at least, I can watch “The Office” when it airs live on tv.
I enjoyed Lie to Me; the lead is kind of House-esque, but not quite as acerbic. I watched it via Hulu the following day and it was pretty fun. I look forward to getting to know the characters a little better.
Can’t wait for a new Damages!! I love the awesomeness that is Patty Hewes.
Of course, it’s all about Lost on Wednesdays. I can’t wait to see what happens tonight.
I agree with Alyson. Wednesdays are all about LOST, but I caught L2M online last Thursday and was very entertained. I’ll be sure to catch tonight’s episode…tomorrow, of course.
Can’t wait for Lost tonight…episode should be a good one…but I especially can’t wait to hear Al Trautwig’s comments on it…He started a weekly LOST Video blog and brings up some really interesting points on time travel and how he thinks Miles is Dr. Marvin’s son! watch it here:

The episode “Jughead” of LOST was just awesome. It’s just so thrilling, I can’t wait to watch the new one. Finally we found out sth. about Charles Widmore, too bad Locke didn’t shoot him. 🙂 The bad thing is that I’m from Germany, so I always have to wait till the episode is available here (mostly on thursday).
