GOSSIP GIRL Spinoff News…Finally
January 14, 2009 by Kath Skerry

The XOXO will be spinning off and there are finally some details to share. According to reports in The Hollywood Reporter (and more importantly from my girl Korbi Ghosh), the long awaited GOSSIP GIRL spinoff is finally just around the corner. The new show is set to premiere as a backdoor pilot on the May 11th episode of GOSSIP GIRL.
The show will focus on a young Lily Rhodes, or as we know her, Lily van der Woodsen (insert a few other names from previous marriages) Bass. It seems that the new series is going to go back in time to the 1980s and show us Lily’s life way before Serena, Erik, and the not so dead baby she gave up for adoption. After a young Lily has a tiff with her parents, she’s going to move to the the Valley with her equally rebuffed sister. From there we will see Lil as she gets caught up in the 80’s rock scene and eventually meets Rufus Humphrey. Do they end up together? Well for that answer I guess you’re going to have to keep tuning into GOSSIP GIRL.
SUPERNATURAL Spoilers: Could it Be True??

The following contains speculation on reported spoilers for upcoming episodes of SUPERNATURAL. You have been warned.
Hey Supernatural fans!! Our show returns tomorrow night with all new episodes after the (much too long!) break. In anticipation of that, I had to write about this nugget of major gossip that’s been floating around. Choose to read it or not (consider yourself spoiler-warned), but either way, come back on Friday to discuss tomorrow’s episode, which looks to be especially creepy!
Television gossip maven Kristin Dos Santos has blown the mind grapes (to quote Tracy of ’30 Rock’) of the collective Supernatural fandom by posting the most major possible spoiler in the show’s history and it’s causing quite a ruckus on the old interwebs. As I said, it’s only a possible spoiler, but Kristin’s pretty in-the-know, so who knows? It could be true. Anyhow, as Team GMMR’s resident Supernatural recapper, I had to share the news here, and discuss this possible turn of events with fellow fans, so if you don’t want to know, don’t read past the jump. But, if you do read, please please please share your thoughts in the comments section because I think y’all will definitely have some things to say…
PRIVILEGED: All About Tough Love

Yay! What a delightful episode! Aside from the return of my nemesis Lilly, this was a wonderful hour, showcasing what are becoming trademarks of this great new series: heart, charm, sharp dialogue and several laugh-out-loud moments. I’ve long thought that Privileged somewhat fills the void left on The CW by Gilmore Girls and while the shows are very different, they both make me happy in similar ways.
Megan is dealing with family drama now that Lilly is in jail and Will….oh Will. If you hadn’t done something so stupid I’d feel really badly for you right now. The girls meanwhile are busy trying to figure out their respective boyfriends. Sage wants to get Luis a present to show him how she feels (you could see that disaster coming a mile away) and Rose is trying to puzzle out the meaning of a poem given to her by her beau.
TV Buzz: PRISON BREAK, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, MOONLIGHTING and More

Today’s buzzworthy TV news includes scoop on PRISON BREAK, the ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT movie, a MOONLIGHTING reunion, and more casting news from GREY’S ANATOMY. Read on and weigh in on the buzz below.
Prison Break is Dunzo
The announcement was made yesterday that Fox will not be ordering any more episodes of PRISON BREAK. FOX President, Kevin Reilly, simply said that the show has “run its course”. The remaining episodes will start airing of April 17th, but when they are done, it will be goodbye to Michael Scofield and his band of merry men.
This news isn’t a shocker, but TV is going to be just a bit less hotter without Wentworth Miller every week. I’ve watched every season with the exception of this last one. I’ve always enjoyed the show, but the Monday night TV schedule got just a bit overwhelming and sacrifices had o be made. I still plan on catching up on this season in time to pick up the show again in April.
Are you a Prison Break fan? Are you ready for the show to be over or are you a little heartbroken over this news?

Wednesdays are going to be interesting soon enough, but for now there still a little bit ‘eh. The highlight for me will be the second night of IDOL, and I might watch a little LOST rerun because, well, it’s LOST.

Vote for TRAILER TRASH Today!
January 13, 2009 by Kath Skerry
Filed under #1 featured, TV News
With the success of DR. HORRIBLE and THE GUILD, web-produced shows are becoming more main stream. Viewers are consuming their entertainment more and more in the online space and the line has become increasingly blurred between shows that are network produced and those done through independent channels. And with the added freedom of an independent production, the entertainment value of the web series can sometimes be better than what the networks force on us.
New web series, including the upcoming Josh Schwartz production, “Rockville” (debuting in March on TheWB.com), are in the works and you should expect more and more “mainstream” TV makers coming to play on the internet.
In the spirit of embracing the web TV, I wanted to bring your attention to “Trailer Trash“, a show that puts the ‘review’ in ‘preview’. “Trailer Trash” reviews the latest and greatest Hollywood trailers. Trailers you ask? Yes, trailers. Let’s face it, if the filmmakers can’t make a good 2 minute trailer than do you really trust them with 2 hours on the big screen? Hell no. Let the “Trailer Trash” hosts and correspondents do the heavy lifting and watch the trailer for you. Based on the trailers the movies will either bed “hitched” or “ditched”.
From time to time the “Trailer Trash” correspondents, like my friend Jennifer Eolin, will actually see the movie and determine if the “hitch” or “ditch” holds up.

Little J or Sydney Bristow?! Check out this kickass video of GOSSIP GIRL star Taylor Momsen escaping the intrusive glare of the paparazzi. The girl can move. You MUST watch this!
OMG, how funny is that? I laughed my ass off because I thought at the beginning it was all real. Rumor has it that this might be a new Nike commercial.
Shout out to Dan (DuckyDoesTV.com) for sharing the clip with me.
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER: I Love Barney & Robin…and Tacos!
January 13, 2009 by Kath Skerry
Filed under #1 featured, How I Met Your Mother, TV News
Usually when I am crying during HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER it’s because the show is so damn funny that I weep with laughter. While last night’s ep did tickle the funny bone, it was the unexpected emotional pounding that left me all kinds of weepy. What can I say, I love the taco lover.
The whole underpinning of this series is relationships. The relationship between Ted and the mother of his children. The relationship between these group of friends. The relationship Barney has with his suits. But I never thought it would be the non-relationship of Barney and Robin that would have me so emotionally invested.
Despite appearances, I do not get any kick back from sharing the Neil Patrick Harris love. My love is genuine. It’s very real. It’s on this constant stratospheric incline with no end in sight. And when he pulls of what he pulled off last night, what with his range of emotions, well I fall just that much harder.
AMERICAN IDOL Returns Tonight…Are You Ready?!

I’m not even going to pretend to not be super stoked about tonight’s return of AMERICAN IDOL. I’m giddy with excitement. I can’t wait to see and hear the talent of AMERICAN IDOL Season 8. Last year I was a David Cook fan from the very beginning. Will someone capture my attention early on this year?
As most of you know, I’m not a huge fan of these early audition episodes. Well I should say I’m not a fan of the freak show aspect of it. But it doesn’t mean I won’t watch. I will. And I’m sure I will find them amusing. But I’m all about hearing from the standouts and seeing just who will be making it through to Hollywood.
I thought this might be a good time to talk AMERICAN IDOL logistics. When will the audition process end? When will we see Hollywood week? More importantly when do WE start voting? Here’s the info you need to know.
24 Debrief: Day 7 | 10:00 am-12:00 pm

Wow, did the writers pull out some of the stops tonight. It’s nothing like previous seasons, but a lot went on tonight that changes the entire complexion of this season, so let’s get started.
Debrief
- So, it seems, as I suspected (see below) Tony is not, in fact, evil. He is working off the grid and deep undercover with Chloe and Bill Buchanan (YAY!). They are all working to stop the CIP Device from getting into the hands of General Juma AND stopping all of the corruption inside the FBI.
- Jack is now undercover with Tony as part of Emerson’s crew. They were in the middle of kidnapping the former Prime Minister of Sangala, who is in the middle of trying to broker an intervention by the US, when they ran up against the unfortunate matter of his panic room.
- President Taylor received a threat from Juma’s second-in-command that they will use the CIP device if troops are not pulled from their positions near Sangala by 1 p.m. (i.e., the end of the next episode).
- Henry Taylor met up again with his son’s ex-girlfriend, Samantha. She told him that Roger was investigating his firm’s finances and found out that they were making several dealings with Sangala. Therefore, she confirmed his suspicions that his death was not a suicide and all part of the cover-up.
