The TV Talk Podcast: Episode #35

February 6, 2009 by

TV Talk Podcast with GMMR and Ducky returns with a ton of chatter about our favorite shows.

Chuck scored with a 3-D Superbowl episode, Gossip Girl sends Blair over the deep end, Heroes returns with some promise and the double punch of Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother once again make us laugh our asses off. Privileged said good bye to our boy Charlie, The Biggest Loser sent one pissed off contestant home and Fringe got prickly. Idol finally hits Hollywood week and America’s Best Dance Crew got all “It’s Britney Bitch” on us.

The Office got super-sized for the Super Bowl but did it score a home run, er… ABC falsely promotes a Grey’s/Private Practice crossover and Supernatural went back to the future. Battlestar Galactica got frakkin crazy while Friday Night Lights taught us how the other half lives. SNL scores a really hot but really random host and of course, Two Idiots Talk Lost!

As a bonus, it’s game time so get ready to play along at home.

    I joined on Facebook!

And in response to this podcast’s game, sorry, but I have to go with a PD spin-off, possibly titled “Aw, Hell No!” and following the future investigations of Cod and Snook, PI’s. Because they’re kind of awesome together, and I’d love to see the further development of the sort of friendship between them this season.

Just to let you guys know, I’m de-lurking but I’ve been listening to your podcasts since the beginning. It’s a big highlight when they show up on iTunes so thanks a lot for doing them!

As for the game, here’s my spinoff: Cristina Yang needs to be done with Seattle Grace and go wherever she’s going to go and take Owen Hunt with her. That is the only plotline that keeps me watching Grey’s Anatomy this season. It’s wretched otherwise.

Hey Kath great ‘cast as usual. You and Ducky continue to entertain and make me laugh! Thanks so much.

As to Lost here is a theory about why Jin meeting Rousseau does not set up a paradox. Its because in the future she is dead so the memory of what is happening with Jin is never remembered by her.

It makes sense because in the previous episode, Desmond did not remember talking to Faraday until the present.

    Mind blowing and pretty cool.

Of course, still mulling over John Locke meeting Richard and Widmore and not setting off paradoxes. It seems the Others are not bound to the same rules about time travel as everyone else is.

Can’t wait for the next show.

    The spinoff game…

Justin from Ugly Betty – a show that shows life from Justin’s viewpoint – his friends, school, dealing with his dad dying etc. Hopefully he’d get to sing every once in a while as well 🙂

    Anyone doing anything from FNL!

[GMMR: I had to edit some of this because it contained FNL spoilers…sorry]

    Oooops – good catch!!

Sorry GMMR – I wasn’t thinking about spoilers! Wouldn’t want to ruin the glory that is FNL for anyone.

I noticed alot of people didn’t have 3D glasses for Chuck. But there were glasses being given away through Targets and grocery stores for the Super Bowl (to watch those 3D commercials in the middle) and I used those.

In Lost, the people who shot at the castaways were not the Frenchies (who didn’t show up until after the next flash). At that time, the camp was there but abandoned, so the time was the present or maybe even the future. And I think those badguys were new characters (they could be with Whidmore or something, but your guess is as good as mine).
