Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Tuesday, April 7, 2009
April 7, 2009 by Kath Skerry
Remember a few short months ago when Tuesday was a relatively manageable TV night? Yeah, so much for that.
There’s plenty of new TV to keep you occupied tonight. My ears will be enjoying some IDOL while my eyes will be enjoying from FRINGE. Speaking of, if you won’t mind being a little spoiled, check out the video down in the FRINGE section of this post. The first 30 seconds had me rolling.
Check out a few highlights from tonight’s TV schedule. What will YOU be watching tonight? Spill it.
American Idol | 8pm on Fox
The eight remaining finalists compete for seven spots. Tonight the contestants are singing songs from the year they were born. [GMMR: This is always a bit of a wild card night since the contestants always find a loop hole – it could be a song from the 40’s but if someone remade it the year they were born they’re good to go. And for a little perspective, Allison Iraheta will be singing something from the 90’s. She was born in 1992!!!!]
Reaper | 8pm on The CW
“Underbelly“
Sam is led to think that the next escaped soul is an easy catch; Ben tries to not be so clingy with Nina.
The Biggest Loser | 8pm on NBC
The contestants are faced with a temptation challenge; the winner of the challenge chooses which contestant will be eliminated. [GMMR: I’m actually intrigued by the promos I saw. Looks like the contestants get their hands on some food and totally school it. Ducky will have to fill me in.]
Fringe | 9pm on Fox
“Inner Child”
A mysterious child who was living alone underground forms an unspoken bond with Olivia; a serial killer resurfaces. [GMMR:FRINGE is back!! The show has been gone forever and someone, and I’m not naming names, has been seriously missing Joshua Jackson. If you’ve never watched FRINGE before, tonight is a great night to start. Hopefully the ratings will see a lift in the post-IDOL time slot.]
(Warning! The following is 5 clips from tonight’s episode. Spoilertarians should stay away.)
The Mentalist | 9pm on CBS
“A Dozen Red Roses”
The team travels to Hollywood when a movie producer is murdered. Marilyn Monroe: Nicholle Tom.
Cupid | 10pm on ABC
“Live and Let Spy”
Trevor thinks he senses a match between Claire’s friend and a private investigator; Felix plans a party for his parents’ 40th wedding anniversary.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit | 10pm on NBC
“Baggage”
Fin and Stabler link the murder of a rising artist to another unsolved homicide, and then they see a pattern possibly connecting these cases to those of a serial killer that another detective (Delroy Lindo) has been searching for and whose cases he’s become territorial over.
My Boys | 10:30pm on TBS
“Private Eyes”
Keeping her new boyfriend a secret from her friends proves difficult for P.J.; Brendan opens a nightclub; Mike finds good reasons to keep his mustache. [GMMR: Seems like I have to watch this one again. I don’t remember too much about Brendan’s night club in this episode. But I do know I love a good stake out!]
Also playing…
- NCIS | 8pm on CBS: When Abby is asked to take over for a government scientist who has gone missing, the team fears that she will meet the same fate as her predecessor.
- Dancing with the Stars | 9pm on ABC: Results show. Another celebrity and dance partner are voted off.
- 90210 | 9pm on The CW: Kelly and Ryan look for Silver; Adrianna and Navid baby-sit for Kelly.
- Without a Trace | 10pm on CBS: The team finds plenty of suspects when a high-end Russian matchmaker disappears.
- The Real Housewives on New York City | 10pm on CBS: Jill’s home re-design is complete; Jill partners with Simon for an upcoming tennis match against Ramona and Mario; Bethenny asks Alex to help her design a logo for her line of “SkinnyGirl Margaritas.”
What will YOU be watching tonight?!

Fringe and My Boys. They definitely make Tuesday night good again.
Back to Tuesday nights when I actually have to choose between shows- I’m so happy Fringe is back though. It seems like it’s been off forever
Watch Reaper and please help us save it! Please don’t stay silent. The CW never know how much we like the show if we don’t tell them. And with the creators leaving, we really need all the help we can get. Thank you.

I’ll be watching my guilty pleasure show, The Biggest Loser. This is the first season I’ve watched with couples. I didn’t think I’d like the ones with couples as much so I hadn’t watched the show since it was all singles. Turns out it’s still good this way too!
Hi! Would you mind if I share your blog with my twitter group?
There’s a lot of folks that I think would really appreciate your content.
