CHUCK’s Ryan McPartlin is…Awesome!
April 24, 2009 by Kath Skerry
Want to know just how awesome Captain Awesome is? Pretty damn awesome. Ryan McPartlin, who as you all know plays Devon Woodcomb on CHUCK, sent me an email message to share with all of you. How sweet is that?
Dear CHUCK friends and fans:
First of all, I have to say thank you for your love and support of the show!!! I’m blown away at what a truly AWESOME fan base we have and I can’t believe the creativity and intelligence that you’ve all shown in the “SAVE CHUCK” campaign. I’m impressed at all the different ways you’ve come up with to save the show, from Twittering, MySpace and Facebooking to watching Chuck on NBC.com and HULU, to buying $5 footlong subs from Subway on the day of the season finale. You guys are the best fans ever and personally, I’m going to put your ideas into action on Monday and have a “SAVE CHUCK” party with a bunch of $5 footlongs from Subway. It should be right up there with my bachelor party at the Buy More (without the strippers of course). Keep the momentum going this week, so NBC can give us the green light to work on Season 3! Thanks again!!!
All my best,
Ryan McPartlin aka The Captain

Awwww, he’s being awesome for us. 🙂
We don’t need to ask him to be awesome, he already is. WTG Ryan!
Keep up the great work Captain!! Here’s to saving Chuck for a Season 3 and 4 and 5 and 6…..and, and, YES Season 10!!!!!!! Hey if Dancing with the Stars and Survivor and othe reality shows can go on for 8 / 9 seasons then why not our CHUCK!!!!!!1
Way to go Ryan. That’s awesome! 🙂
He’s so awesome. No better word for it.
Very awesome of Captain Awesome
Just AWESOME ^_^
Over the past few years, we have been bombarded with horrific stories about celebrities who abandon their sense of perspective. Isn’t it heartwarming to know that the cast & crew of Chuck are so grateful for the efforts being made by perfect strangers, all for the sake of allowing them to flex their creative muscles?
Ryan’s letter, Zachary Levi’s kind words during Kath’s set visit, and Josh Schwartz’s comments in recognition of the Save Chuck movement tell the whole story. This isn’t just a television show that is worth seeing for years to come. More importantly, these are people who you can feel good about rooting for.
Word, Erik!
Erik said it the best and Ryan McPartlin is truly awesome.
Awesome.
Dude. That’s … AWESOME! What a sweetheart he is. Truly, truly an awesome man himself.
It makes me misty eyed when I read stuff from the cast and crew. I will be truly sad if Chuck is not renewed, but I think it will make it worse because I know these great people have to be broken up and find new gigs. Although we all know with how incredibly talented EVERY single one is, they will be superstars.
Awesome thoughts, Ryan! Keep that attitude for the next seasons of Chuck and where-ever you go in your career!
What a great email to read! I’ve been blown away myself as a fan of all the online chatter and efforts put forth by fans and critics alike who have all been writing and talking about Chuck! I’ll continue to surf the net, post comments, write NBC, and of course WATCH Chuck live and online, by a $5 sub, and tell everyone to tune in on Monday. Also if you haven’tchecked out http://www.chuckpodcast.com their latest podcast if full of our favorties from the show so check it out.
Dude…AWESOME
Good to know the other stars are keeping track.
Hey: buy *two* subs Monday, people; you’ve got a fridge, right?
Pass it on.
I’ve written emails, I’m buying subs on Monday and I have all of my fingers crossed for season three. It makes it all the more worthwhile when you realize what a great group of people is behind this show.
Chuck is the greatest show in 15 years! The top three in order are: Chuck, Father Ted (BBC comedy from the mid-90’s), and Seinfeld. Save Chuck, it’s what I live for on Mondays. We DVR every episode. I can’t wait until Season 2 is out on DVD!
