CNN Covers the Save CHUCK Efforts

April 30, 2009 by

The support and coverage of the Save CHUCK campaign continues even past the show’s final Season 2 episode.  Check out CNN’s story: ‘Save Chuck’ latest in campaigns to rescue favorite shows‘.

I spoke with CNN reporter Lisa Respers France last week about the efforts and connected her with Josh Schwartz and Ryan McPartlin who also weighed in on the efforts. And it seems that Ryan knows exactly what it’s like to be a fan sitting on the other side of the TV set:

“There’s something about knowing what time and day of the week your [favorite] show is going to be on and the comfort of that regardless of what’s going on in your life,” he [McPartlin] said. “This is crunch time, and we’ve got to do what we can.”

Barring some mental and emotional break down during which I do something tragic and newsworthy, I’m going to venture to bet that this is the only time I’m going to get a mention on CNN.com

Keep on CHUCKing…
The NBC Upfronts take place on May 5th in NYC.  That’s when we’ll expect to hear the fate of CHUCK. Until that time, please continue to support the show by watching it on Hulu, buying Chuck – The Complete First Season on DVD and pre-ordering Chuck: The Complete Second Season on DVD. Keep reaching out to NBC in whatever way possible. Continue visiting ChuckTV.net, Zachery-Levi.com as well other of your favorite fan sites 100% dedicated to CHUCK for the latest news and what you can continue to do to help. It’s not over until Jeffster sings the final song on their farewell tour.

Chuck is such a relief! It’s funny but smart all at the same time. Each show could stand on it’s own and yet it leaves you wanting more every week! With the seriousness of today’s world, today’s economy, today’s youth issues, today’s health issues, we need a feel-good show like Chuck to keep us grounded. A show like Chuck to make us smile at the end of the day and know that everything is going to be alright. The Tonight Show can’t even do that anymore! Don’t get rid of Chuck. This very well could be the next Friends!
    SAVE CHUCK!

Congrats on the interview, and until I read that article, it had never struck me that “Chuck” really is family friendly TV. I’ve been blogging and Twittering about the show and even wrote a couple of letters to NBC — something I’ve never done in all of my 34 years. Here’s hoping our efforts work!

Congrats Kath! CNN is a big deal!! Keeping my fingers crossed for CHUCK-renewal.

I LOVE all the attention this is getting, and I’m excited that you’re getting some recognition for the hard work you put into this Kath! You did a great job at bringing a lot of different sites together on this and I’m really impressed with you!

Kath, I think it’s awesome (ha!) that you have done so much – and are now getting credit for it – to save Chuck. I’ve read and loved your blog for years, but this is by far my favorite thing that GMMR has done! Chuck is absolutely my favorite show, and I’ll have my fingers crossed until next week.

Congrats on the CNN article, and thanks for the work you do.

Kath, this is great. The Media is finally noticing our efforts. Thanks for your hard work.

P.S. It’s sad to see “Give Me My Chuck” is no longer on your web site title. I was getting so used to it, haha!

Wow – congrats, Kath! And thanks for your continued support of Chuck. It’s awesome that the Save Chuck campaign is getting so much attention, and from so many sources too! NBC can’t say no to that!

Thank you all for your kind notes. I’m excited that CNN has taken the time to showcase the collective efforts. But please remember it is the collective efforts that are making the difference. Some fan sites started CHUCK campaigns before GMMR and others including some of YOU helped with the efforts after we got started here. I’m happy to have been able to be a site that is being recognized for rallying the troops in some way, but if it were just GMMR making the noise about the show it wouldn’t be heard.

So thank YOU and I thank all the other sites (big and small) that have done something to help Save CHUCK!

I just realized that I’ll be in NY at the Hilton a block from 30 Rock on Tuesday – being a nobody I’m sure I can’t get into the upfronts but will be close enough to shoot mental death rays that way should the NBC brass do the unthinkable.

Kath – congrats on the CNN recognition which is awesomely deserved.

Yay! It’s so fun coming here to find out about the latest on the campaign to save Chuck. Congrats on the CNN interview! I’ve always had a crush on this blog, but now it’s a full blown love affair. I hope that’s not awkward.

As one of the legions who tried to save Moonlight, I recognize the love and effort y’all are pouring into this. I know I speak for many when I say that Moonlight fans wish you all the luck in the world. Keep on Chucking!

Just read NBC renewed Celebrity Apprentice for a third season…give me a break. They renew that crapfest and Chuck is on the bubble? I hold Jay Leno personally responsible for this travesty with his 10pm airwave hogging. The Boston affiliate may have reneged on not showing it but it’s not coming into my home.

Beer me strength or Chuck me.

SAVE CHUCK!!! I have to have my CHUCK! Thanks Kathy for doing your part- and getting recognized..we need our voices to be heard- or else we will have to “INTERCEPT” the airwaves!!!

I am a 46 year old mother of 2 who LOVES CHUCK!!! and I also love the fact that it is a family friendly show (well…most of the time anyway). I think Josh Schwartz got it right with his statement about “there’s something to be said for knowing the time and date of your favorite show regardless of what’s goiong on in your life”. We do look forward to watching Chuck every Monday and even gave up watching House, (as much as I love that show too.) Chuck is the type of show that TV dinners were created for. PLEASE keep up the good work on trying to save Chuck and I will do my part as well. Long live Chuck so John can live to sing another high C!!! (One of our top ten Chuck favorite moments!)

Chuck is the only show worth the electricity on Mondays. Go Green. Save and recycle Chuck.
