It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane (why yes it is!)

Coming at you from high above the clouds. Why? Because I can. Just felt the need to blog from the airplane because this is the first flight that I’ve been on that offers WiFi and I thought that was all kinds of cool. I’m such a dork.

Virgin America gets a big gold star for offering internet access. However, it gets a big thumbs down for Fox being the only major network they carry. (Not sure what the ration is for gold stars to thumbs down, but I think it involves Schrute bucks and Stanley nickles). Limited network TV really messes with my TV viewing tonight. I had planned on watching THE BIG BANG THEORY and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. Now I’m going to have watch them illegally online tomorrow. Sorry CBS, I hate to do it, but you don’t offer your shows online…clearly you think this is 2007 or something. At least there’s HOUSE.

A post wouldn’t be a post without reminding you to watch CHUCK at 8pm on NBC. Try to watch it LIVE if you can. I don’t understand all the ratings nonsense but Schwartz says people should be watching it live. He’s a little further in the loop than me so I’m going to believe him on this one.

Other than that, I’ve got nothing. I’ve got another 5 hours on this flight so if you’re online talk to me…either on Twitter or in the comments. I’ve got nothing but time.

CHUCK Superlatives Part Deux: Poll

I’m bringing polling back! Yeah, that’s right, sung to the tune of “Sexy Back”. Since we had so much fun with it earlier in Chuck Week, it just makes sense to bring polling back in anticipation of tonight’s episode. Remember—eyeballs on the screen! Please do everything you can to watch live and spread the word!

And now … let’s see what you think! I’m going to totally enjoy the discussion of your choices in the comments, so don’t be shy! Be part of the fun. Vote in these polls and then throw out new polls in the comments for others to play along with!

Fun, Sun and TV…Here I Come!

April 13, 2009 by
Filed under #1 featured, GMMR News

I’m heading off to L.A. today for a week long celebration of TV. I’ll be attending a number of panel at this year’s Paley Fest and I couldn’t be more excited.  Just get me on the plane already!

Here’s my lineup of panels.  If you’re going to be there leave a comment and let me know.  And if you see me, definitely come up and say Hi!!

  • Tuesday: Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog
  • Wednesday: Dollhouse
  • Thursday: The Big Bang Theory
  • Friday: The Mentalist
  • Saturday: Desperate Housewives
  • Sunday: Pushing Daisies (Final 3 episodes screening)
  • Monday: Battlestar Galactica/Caprica (attending the pre-panel soiree so I’ll try to snag some good scoop.)

Housekeeping…
All this traveling means that it’s going to be an odd week here on GMMR. Not only will I be in a different time zone, but I’m going to be watching most of this week’s TV online. All of the Paley panels are at night, and since hotels don’t have DVRs, well, it’s going to be a lot of Hulu’ing this week. I’ll try to post throughout the day, but please forgive me if I’m not as consistent as I normally am…this pasty white Boston skin needs some serious sun time! As always, Team GMMR has a lot covered already, so we should be good.

Follow My Adventures…
Since I’m going to be out and about in L.A. all week, you can keep up with my latest whereabouts via Twitter.  I’ll be sure to tweet any celebrity sightings right away.

I won’t be live tweeting throughout all the panels.  I may send off a few quick tweets if something exciting comes up*, but I won’t be live tweeting every second of the panel.  Why?

  1. I find it quite annoying when people live blog stuff and therefore dominate my Twitter view and I wouldn’t want to do the same to you.
  2. I think it’s so rude to be twittering the entire people talking on the stage.  If you are twittering, then how are you also listening?  You aren’t.

*Example of something exciting? Neil Patrick Harris making a surprise appearance at the DR. HORRIBLE panel. Sadly he’s not scheduled to attend…and yes, this breaks my heart.

I’m so excited to go to the panels, meet up with my fellow blogger friends and hopefully meet a few of YOU!

Welcome to the busiest night of TV all week – Monday! Rest up during the day kids because it’s going to be a long night of TV watching.

If Mondays weren’t messy enough as is, I’ll be on a plane to L.A. smack in the middle of the 8pm power hour. I’m going to be at the mercy of the TV on my Virgin America flight. Fingers crossed I get some good stations.  Because I am a huge dork I’ve already thought ahead to my in-flight entertainment options.  If the flight has CBS, I’m going to be watching THE BIG BANG THEORY and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER from 8-9pm.  Why not CHUCK or HOUSE or GREEK?  Well, (a) CBS doesn’t have it’s sh#% together so I can’t watch BBT and HIMYM online (b) I’d rather have NBC count me in with the online watchers of CHUCK rather than not being counted at all, (c) I’ve already seen this week’s episode of GREEK, (d) Erik has HOUSE covered and I don’t feel the need to watch that one live.

    Save One Show…CHUCK

The Watch with Kristin team has launched their annual Save One Show campaign. CHUCK is on the endangered species list this year so it’s time to pull out the big gun (and no I don’t mean Casey) and VOTE!

Yep, it’s that time again. As we speak, networks are deciding which on-the-bubble series to save and which to cancel, and that means some of our favorite shows may not see another season premiere. Sob.

But there is strength in numbers—numbers of superdedicated and devoted fans such as yourselves—even if the Nielsens refuse to stick up for the beloved likes of Chuck, Dollhouse and Privileged.

    To vote, click here.

Share the link with your friends.  Even if they aren’t CHUCK fans (any why not?), still ask them to do you a favor and vote fo CHUCK.

P.S. You can vote more than one…so go crazy!

This isn’t the first time that performers auditioning for BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT have left me at a loss for words. Talk about turning on the tears. Check out the audition for 47-year old Susan Boyle.

To view the video click here.

I love Simon’s sigh of contentment around the 3:23 mark.

UPDATE: The video is all over YouTube but strangely enough ALL the videos have their embedding disabled. I think this is shady. I think this is YouTube trying to get more traffic directly to their site. Bizarre.

I know I’ve shared these before, but here are past Britain’s Got Talent auditions for Paul Potts, Connie Talbot and Andrew Johnston.
