SMALLVILLE: Injustice

Hey GMMR! Did you fall for last night’s Smallville plot twist like I did? I really thought Chloe was in the clear and back with Clark. Not so! After more than half of the episode we found out that Chloe was really still MIA and Ava, a meteor infected Tess recruit, was posing as Clark’s blonde sidekick!
A lot has been happening this season and with the end in sight there is a lot of entertaining conflict. First we have Clark and Oliver. The two superheroes just have different mindsets when it comes to right and wrong. Then there’s the vicious and evil Tess who has been showing a softer side and is on a mission to supposedly help Clark. And then there’s Clark. What can I say about the red blue blur but that he’s only out to do the right thing which has him not only fighting the world but his friends as well. This season went fast and with time running out I have a feeling Clark will be losing a lot more than just Lana. On to last nights highlights.
The episode opens with Chloe running for her life in the dark woods crying and muddy. The easy clue here was Tess’ smirk before Clark disappears to save her but she’s always wearing that malicious smile so who knew?! With Clark’s sonic hearing he saves her from a tracker trailer truck about to squash her like a bug. After getting her back to the farm they discuss Davis Bloom. Chloe has certainly changed her train of thought and now wants Clark to kill him because that’s the only way to save mankind from such a monster.
The next day Clark pays Oliver a visit so that the two can come up with a plan to rid the world of Doomsday once and for all. Of course Oliver just wants to kill him like Chloe but Clark has another idea. His plan is to send Doomsday to the phantom zone and release the human side of Davis. Clark decides to send Oliver on a mission to get black kryptonite while he works on a more humane way to end Doomsday.
Back at the barn Chloe discovers Clark pulling the crystal out of the hidden compartment in the floor. She is against what Clark is doing. He explains that he’s only out to save Davis from himself which is the right thing to do. Their dispute is cut short when Dr. O’Neil phones Clark with news that Doomsday has hit again.
After arriving on the scene they’re met with a sickening display of what Doomsday is capable of. There’s a body in the wall and one on the floor. The body is that of Livewire, a meteor infected former Black Creek patient who they discover has a chip in his temporal lobe. What they don’t know at the time is the Livewire is a former member of the team Tess put together to track down Doomsday. After Chloe takes off from the scene to meet up with the other recruits the Doctor tells Clark that there’s something going on with her, she’s hiding something. Yes, I still didn’t put the clues together at this point!
Meanwhile Oliver is off to find the black kryptonite in the Luthor mansion and is almost caught in the act when Tess arrives home. Throwing her off the real reason he is there Oliver climbs in bed and pretends his only intention is to seduce her. What they both aren’t aware of is that Clark has figured out is that Chloe is actually Ava and that the only two recruits left are on their way to the mansion to get revenge against Tess.
By the end of the show Oliver admits to killing Lex to Clark and Chloe is still missing. It looks like Clark is on his own again. Do you think there’s time for Chloe? Will she be returning? Things are definitely heating up for the season end! And as always let me know what you think is coming down the pike for the characters of Smallville?

BONES: The Critic in the Cabernet

First of all, a big shout out to everyone who participated in GMMR’s first ever Live BONES Chat on Thursday night. It was a great time! You can check out a replay of our chat here.
But after watching the episode, there is still a lot to say, so let’s get it on!
THE CASE:
Sometimes I think the BONES writers are like, “Hey, we can do whatever we want, but if we give people an amazing B+B episode ender, they will love the episode no matter what!”. They probably don’t say that, but I have to admit that a good ending will make me overlook just about anything. Like, in this instance…they didn’t even SOLVE the case hardly! But because I’m easy, I’m not really going to say much more about it either. A wine critic is found in a barrel of cabernet, and suspects include the winery’s owner, his rival, his wife and the rival’s wife.
THE SQUINTS:
Fischer: The most optimistic we’ve seen him. His “would I waste our time” line was funny. And that he thinks he’s quite a catch with little emotional baggage is classic.
Cam: I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I like Cam’s friendship with Booth, and that she calls him on stuff. He’s in denial (more on that later), but she still gives him the WTH convo. But she’ll still support him, too, which I like.

Shhh…we are being very quiet. So quiet you might not even hear us updating GMMR today. Yes, things may be a little quiet around here until later tonight. I’m in Connecticut today for my niece Emma’s “special person” day at school. How adorable is that? Spending the afternoon in her 1st grade class. I haven’t been able to watch THE OFFICE yet. If those kids spoil me I’m going to be pissed.
I’ll try to find to update once I get caught up on my Thursday night shows. But here are a few shows that you might want to check out tonight.

“Cowboys and Indians.”
Chaos erupts after an assassination at the global energy conference; Michael has to choose between saving Lincoln or Sara.

We’ve made it to Thursday. Congrats to all. Thursday’s a big TV night so I hope you’re resting up and drinking lots of fluid.
I probably won’t get to watch Thursday night TV until really late tonight or maybe tomorrow morning. I’ll be heading down to CT after work and fully expect to be sitting in some traffic. The downside – missing watching live TV. The upside – spending the entire weekend with my sister and her family!
Save CHUCK on CNN
Assuming there is no breaking news to bump the segment, Gray from the Chuck vs. the Podcast will be on CNN between 1-2pm today talking about the Save CHUCK campaign. Rumor has it that Zachary Levi and/or Josh Gomez might be on as well. Tune in. Save CHUCK!

The Office | 9:00pm on NBC
“Cafe Disco”
Michael brings dancing and coffee to the office; Jim and Pam plan a secret trip. [GMMR: I will not let the promo excite me. I will not let the promo excite me. NBC, I’ve been burned. I will not be burned again.]

But on the other hand I can’t wait to watch it all unfold.]

Who Went Home on AMERICAN IDOL?

UPDATE: Looking to find who went home on IDOL? Click here for tonight’s shocking results: Who Went Home on AMERICAN IDOL? (March 11, 2010)
PREVIOUS POST
Start the live blogging a little late tonight. The first 20 minutes were filled with another horrible Ford commercial, a boring rendition of “School’s Out”, Danny making light of the “horror” screech, and Allison getting bleeped out. Yup, bleeped (but I have no idea why).
9:18pm: IDOL begins (and possibly ends) with Paula Abdul’s performance. What was that hot mess? The lip syncing was expected but embarrassing. The song was boring and cliched. The high point of the performance was watching SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE S2 winner Benji Schwimmer working it as a back up dancer. And not for nothing, but hasn’t Paula been all over the news talking about her chronic back pain? Why is she having the guys throw her all over the stage like an (old) bag of flour? Oy vey!
9:24pm: Cleansing the palette from Paula’s performance is No Doubt. Now here’s some real talent. And look at that, Gwen Stefani is singing live. Interesting. God that woman looks good. Love me some No Doubt and I’m glad they’ve reunited in such a big way. Did Gwen lose a bet? What was with all the push-ups?
9:35pm: Tonight the steel stools are the place to be rather than the pace to dread. Ryan will be sending the safe contestants to those stools. The last man (or woman) left standing will be going home tonight.
Ryan is sending one person to safety and that person is…

25. Michael Westen and Fiona Glenanne (Burn Notice)
In the interest of full disclosure, here was my Top Ten pick:

Mindy Kaling Lands Development Deal

Congrats to THE OFFICE’s Mindy Kaling who landed a deal with NBC to develop her own comedy. OFFICE fans don’t freak — Mindy is still with the show both behind the camera as a writer/producer and in front of the camera as the ferosh and fabulous Kelly Kapoor.
“This is my first step in a Transformers-style way to take over the whole world,” Kaling quipped. “I’ve only ever worked for NBC, and I’ve felt an enormous amount of support from the executives there.”
As for what kind of show Kaling will create, that’s a little TBD right now. Accrding to Variety, Kaling said she’s drawn to workplace comedies but is also interested in buddy shows in the vein of “Flight of the Conchords.”
“I’ve always wanted to do another show about women,” said Kaling.
I’ll watch whatever you put out there, Mindy.
Now how do we get her to make a TV show out of her shopping blog. Hmm.

If you read my AMERICAN IDOL recap then you know I got a little misty tonight while Allison was singing. I was proud. She is a force and I can’t wait to see her take over the rock space. How about the teen girls of the world give a look to Allison instead of Miley Virus or some of those other teens in training for a train wreck.
Thinking about it tonight and I’m so bummed that Allison didn’t have the opportunity to be mentored by Pink. That would have been so cool.
Kris Allen Needs Us to “Come Together” For Him Tonight

My boy Kris Allen had a rough time tonight. I’m not sure it was 100% deserved. Kris didn’t have his best night, I’ll say that, but it wasn’t like he was horrible. I actually really loved his performance of “Come Together”. Maybe I’m biased but I’m not deaf.
I’ve taken this short break from trying to vote for Kris to post this video. I’m worried about Kris. I don’t see a scenario where Danny goes home, which means bad things for Kris Allen.
