Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Monday, June 1, 2009

June?! When did it become June? Ok, technically I guess it was this morning at midnight, but still…I can’t believe it. Maybe it’s the lack of good weather here on the East Coast. Bring on the summer!

I hope you all had a good weekend. Well rested and ready to head back to work? No…me neither. Although I did have a good great fabulous weekend. The rain ended just in time on Friday night for the Dave Matthews concert at Fenway Park. And last night, a special treat for fans at the Boston screening of the new Sam Mendes film, “Away We Go” – stars Maya Rudolph, John Krasinski and writer Dave Eggers were on hand for a Q&A after the movie. I had the chance to meet John after the movie, and I’ll share more of that later. But yeah, not a bad weekend.

But now it’s Monday and time to get back at it.  And time for more new TV tonight. If you’re a reality fan then you’ll have plenty to watch tonight. Don’t forget to set the DVRs for Conan O’Brien’s first night as host of THE TONIGHT SHOW.

Jillian and one of the bachelors go rappelling, then share a romantic dinner on a rooftop; 11 contestants accompany Jillian to an Old West movie set and attend a Hollywood wrap party; Jillian distributes roses at the rose ceremony.

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here | 8pm on NBC
10 “celebrities” are dropped in the Costa Rican jungle to begin competing in comedic challenges that test their survival skills. Cast members include Heidi Montag; Spencer Pratt; Janice Dickinson; Sanjaya Malakar; Stephen Baldwin; and Patti Blagojevich.

Here Come the Newlyweds | 10pm on ABC
“The Butt Grab”
Dr. Ruth Westheimer gives the contestants relationship advice; the wives must determine which backside belongs to their husband by touch alone.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 | 9 & 9:30pm on TLC
The eight children enlist help from professional baker Duff Goldman to create a special surprise for their mom Kate’s birthday. Then, Kate and Mady enjoy some relaxing mother-daughter time in San Diego while Jon stays home with the other seven children; one of the sextuplets must be rushed to the doctor.

The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien | 11:35pm on NBC
The former ‘Late Night’ host takes the helm of the venerable talk show featuring celebrities and music acts. His first guests will be Will Ferrell and a performance by Pearl Jam.
