SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Podcast: Top 6 Perform
July 30, 2009 by Kath Skerry
The Top 6 from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Season 5 performed which means Kath and Dan are back for another podcast. With each contestant performing 4 routines, there’s plenty to talk about.
There’s a quickstep, some disco action, a cramazing contemporary routine, some not so amazing hip-hop and some banoodles solo numbers.
We spy on Kath’s new neighbor; we ponder the likeness of a certain contestant to a certain vampire on TRUE BLOOD; we complain about some choreographers; we forget some choreographers names and probably put our feet in our mouths more than once!
A week from the finale, we also discuss how this season has played out, our feelings about the results so far and declare who the winner of SYTYCD Season 5 should be.

Boo! I can never listen to the podcasts, and I miss the commentary written out. Anyway to get a transcript?? :0) (Or at least a summary??)
listening to the podcast now…i totally agree that it doesn’t make sense to call this season of dancing a “higher standard” than previous seasons…think about last year’s top 6…they included Katee, Will and Mark. how could anyone say they were mediocre compared to this year’s crew?
I loved Brandon last night! I dont understand the voting though. For the first time I started voting and I was able to get through EVERY TIME when I dialed for Brandon. What gives? Was no one else voting??
Hey Michele –
Why can you never listen to the podcasts? Sorry you miss the commentary 🙁 I know it works better for some readers. Selfishly podcasting on performance night is my preference if I’m watching along with someone else. I can’t really write about the show while I’m enjoying it with company. Plus, when I am with friends we don’t end up watching it until later (we like to skip those pesky commercials) and it’s usually after 11pm when we are done. To watch the entire show again while I provide commentary would be brutal.
But point taken.
Next season, with the show on in the Fall, I’m not sure we will be podcasting as much. I think you’ll see more written commentary
Michele – One more thing…remember, this isn’t IDOL. Those lines are always jammed because you have tens of millions of voters . I could easily get through to every dancer last night (well I don’t know about Melissa bc I didn’t vote for her).
Haha – two different one ‘L’ Micheles! I never see any others out there… Thanks Kathy – I know you have fun with them, and I try to listen when I can, but with two kids running around and a business I run by myself, sometimes its quicker to skim through the comments as a guilty pleasure, when I know I should really be working! :0) I’ll try to put some extra time aside to listen – I promise!
