Kristin Chenoweth’s Emmy Win for PUSHING DAISES
September 21, 2009 by Kath Skerry
One of my favorite moments of the entire evening was when Kristin Chenoweth took to the stage and tearfully accepted the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her role as Olive Snook on PUSHING DAISIES.
As always Kristin was adorable and charming. I know I was in tears along with her.
PUSHING DAISIES was nominated four 5 Emmys this year and walked away with four of them. Not bad for a show that ABC canceled.

Kath, thanks for posting this! I was watching along with you guys here at GMMR last night, but it was great to see this again. Kristin is just such a classy lady, and she’s gorgeous and adorable, and I seriously wept along with her. She’s just so genuine, and seemed shocked to have won. I love that she mentioned her PD co-stars, said she loved them, thanked Bryan Fuller, and spoke about winning an award for a show NO LONGER ON THE AIR. I wonder if the ABC execs are kicking themselves this morning? 😉
Btw – what was up with Vanessa Williams? Was she being snobby about the category, or just about the glasses bit? She seemed to be mouthing, “nooo” at the camera, which to me implied she wasn’t impressed with the bit and wasn’t taking part. Your thoughts??
Kimber – Kristin actually said backstage that Vanessa’s reaction was planned as part of the joke.
I was so happy that she won! She got my wheels turning when she mentioned being an Office fan. I think she would be perfect as Angela’s sister coming for a visit. They are both so tiny.
Sara – thanks for clearing that up! I honestly thought Vanessa was being bitchy about the gag, but now I know, so I’ll stop thinking nasty thoughts about her!
I thought Vanessa Williams was hilarious. 🙂 I love Kristin Chenoweth. Such a doll!!
Aww, how great is she?! She really deserved it.
she was great! cracking jokes through her tears and she was actually funny! the first time everyone laughed was just at her voice squeaking ’cause it was so cute! I first saw her on Rosie O’Donnell’s Christmas show and she stole the spotlight there, too!
btw, ABC is stupid
Kristen C needs her own show stat….. she is uniquely adorable.
