SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE celebrated its 100th episode by reuniting a ton of alums, working out some killer encore performances, having Katie Holmes sing and dance a spell and then reality kicked in sending two more dancers home.

In the latest SYTYCD TV Talk Podcast, Kath and Dan are joined by their weekly viewing partners in crime Jess, Whit and Heather! We’ll warn everyone now, we’re all a little punchy after the sad sad elimination and our special SYTYCD cake had us all on a little sugar high. Yes, we had a 100th episode SYTYCD cake… jealous much?

One of the very best routines every performed on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.  Tonight some of our favorite alums joined choreographer Wade Robson in an encore performance of the routine which earned Wade the 2007 Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography – “Ramalama (Bang Bang)”

Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

Happy 100th episode!  I’m so excited! We’ve got the crew together and the party has already started. We’re in the theater and ready to go.  I won’t be able to live blog the entire night but I’ll be checking in on your comments during this extra special edition of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.

The Bench Dance.  Hummingbird. Little Joey Potter dancing. All that and two people are going home.

Can you stand it?

UPDATES:

• Ok how sick was that montage?! I was getting a little teary eyed watching all the kids from yesterday.

• The bottom two girls are Kayla and Jeanette! WHAT?! Already a shocker!

• WHAT?! Jason and Brandon are in the bottom two? The top four dancers are in the bottom? America needs to be bitch-slapped!

• People, not even the bench dance can save this night. I can’t believe this.

• Rama Lama was AMAZING!!! How did I not know that Jailbait Ivan was in the routine! And Wade Robson?! I’m in heaven…or is it hell.

• The room is divided. I enjoyed Joey Potter’s song and dance. Others…not so much.

• Here we go. The girl going home tonight is Jeanette. Wow! The guy going home is (I can’t breathe right now)…Jason. Noooooooooooo!!

• I am devastated.

• Jason and Jeanette have been eliminated. This is a horrible night.

Surreal.  It’s surreal I tell ya.  As a passionate TV fan who started a blog to share her love of all things “The Creek”, “Lost”, “Veronica Mars”, “The Office”, etc. it’s bizarre to see myself quoted on CNN.com.  I never get used to it and I hope I never do.

PROJECT RUNWAY All Star Challenge Reveals Contestants

You know I love me some All Star seasons of reality shows.  So imagine my joy when I got word that PROJECT RUNWAY would send some of my favorite designers of past years down the catwalk once again in a brand new All Star Challenge. Sadly it seems we won’t have an All Star season as much as a two-hour All Star special, but I’ll take what I can get.

Tim Gunn will once again make these designers work and try his best to keep them away from Heidi Klum and her auf Weidersehn.  Michael Kors and Nina Garcia might be a bit tougher this time around since these designers are no longer amateurs.

The winner will walk away with $100,000. Not too shabby.

The designers competing in Project Runway: All-Star Challenge are as follows:

Of course I’m disappointed not to see Christian Soriano on the list, but I’m sure he’s got enough keeping him busy these days. But selfishly I would have loved to see his ego go up against Santino’s.  (Sadly Andre won’t be part of this season…maybe he’s at the Red Lobster).

This special All Star 2-hour episode will air  on Lifetime at 8pm on Thursday, August 20th, right before the premiere of Season 6 of PROJECT RUNWAY.

WAREHOUSE 13: It’s All About ‘Magnetism’

Do you smell fudge? Is your gall bladder feeling numb? If so, you might be affected by one of the artifacts in WAREHOUSE 13! Or… you might just be watching the show. I hope you were. And I hope you liked it as much as I did. I thought, with the exception of a couple of botched scenes, that this was the best episode of the season (and not just because Pete was shirtless in the first 10 minutes). Counting the two hour pilot, we’re four episodes into it with 9 more. Yay!

In this episode, Pete and Myka are sent to Colorado where people are acting strangely. A kind nun jumps off a roof, a young music protégé destroys his violin, an elderly widow smashes a pot against a wall and a man’s face against a pastry display case, and it’s up to M & P to figure out exactly WHAT the artifact even is and then retrieve it. Meanwhile Artie tries to figure out who has breached the warehouse.

Pete and Myka don’t fight, they bicker! I thought their timing was very good and fun in this episode. Them getting slimed was dope in a Double Dare kind of way, but the subsequent laughing and wrestling felt a little forced. I guess they…like each other. I’m not talking about love or UST or anything like that, just genuine affection. And, like I said last week, it’s one of the things I love about the show, that Pete and Myka have accepted the importance of their partnership and mission and are really trying to make it work. I think their strength is in the bicker though, and not so much in the collaborating against Artie for tricking them kind of thing (which was a pretty funny trick). What do you think? Everyone say Happy Birthday to my Dad!  It’s his big day today.

And it’s also a big day for me because it’s SYTYCD performance night (it doesn’t take much to make me happy). Our weekly SYTYCD party is on, and that means so is the SYTYCD edition of The TV Talk Podcast.  So tune in later tonight or early tomorrow to get Ducky and my’s take on tonight’s performance episode.

BIG BROTHER – Let’s Play Catch Up

I’ll be honest with you. I’ve been really struggling to cover BIG BROTHER 11 this season on GMMR. It’s not that I’m not watching the show…I am. Too much.  And once again I’m having a love/hate relationship with it. (More on that in a minute).  My problem is that I’ve been religiously watching Showtime’s BIG BROTHER After Dark and so I’m a few days ahead of what’s happening on the weekly shows that air on CBS.  It’s been hard for me to write about the show because I can’t always keep straight what you all have seen on CBS as opposed to what I’ve seen on BB After Dark.  In a game that changes daily, how am I supposed to write about the CBS show when I know not only the consequences but the events that have transpired since the last broadcast.

It’s tough I tell ya.

So here’s where I am now. I thought I’d just jump in and post away. Since it’s my first BB post of the season, I’ll take a little time to talk about the game, share my quick thoughts on the houseguests, briefly talk about what happened during tonight’s POV and then fill you in on what happened behind the scenes this week leading up to tonight’s POV ceremony. (As in I won’t spoil anything outside of this episode, so no worries.)

I’ll leave it to the GMMR/BIG BROTHER fans to let me know what you want me to cover.  Do you want my thoughts on the weekly episodes? Commentary on the strategy of the players? Perhaps an update on what’s going on inside the BB house based on what I’m seeing during BB AD? Take to the comments and let me know.

Let’s Talk Game Play…
Now, getting back to my aforementioned love/hate relationship with the show.  I don’t know if I love or hate these houseguests more or less than I have in previous seasons.  The HGs got into game play mode so fast that we didn’t get a chance to know any of them outside of their catty little cliques.  BIG BROTHER was smart to separate the houseguests based on their roles in high school, because they all certainly are acting like they’re back in their adolescent years.

If you’ve read this far, I’m going to assume that you’ve actually been watching BIG BROTHER this season and therefore have an opinion on the houseguests. For me, the only HG that I am really pulling for is Jeff.  Hands down this is my guy this season.  He’s by far the most mature. The most intelligent.  And despite a few minor slip-ups, he’s doing his very best to remember that this is a game, and that people needed to be respected as human beings first and foremost.  He might not be the most strategic gamer but he’s learning fast. He just needs to be more confident and get involved in the game play a little more.

As for the other HGs, here’s my uber-quick rundown (in order of personal preference). I’m sure many will disagree, but here’s where I am.
