Obama Won’t Bump LOST
January 8, 2010 by Kath Skerry
Whew…that was a close one.
The internet went all a buzz (as it does as least once a week) upon hearing rumors that President Obama might schedule the State of the Union address on February 2nd. The same February 2nd that is the date for the 3-hour season premiere of Lost. GASP!
But don’t fret my little Losties, White House Press Secretary C.J. Cregg (whoops, I forgot we were talking about real life) Robert Gibbs assured us that we’ll be just fine saying, “I don’t foresee a scenario in which the millions of people that hope to finally get some some conclusion in Lost are preempted by the President.”
Since it’s on the table, I’d like to sit down with Mr. Gibbs and give his a number of shows that should also be added to the no-preempt list. I wonder if he’s on Twitter 😉

Listen, I likes me my TV and all but seems weird to care more about Lost then the state of the union address. It just does.
But also note that Feb 2nd is actually pretty late for SofTheU address. The talking head logic is that he wanted more time for health care reform to pass before it since not going to look good if this major agenda item wasn’t finished in his speech.
So in a way, Lost held put more pressure for President Obama and crew to “get er done” which I guess isn’t a bad thing.
