Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Sunday, January 17, 2010

January 17, 2010 by

I’ll be honest, I’m uber -excited for tonight’s Golden Globe awards. Ricky Gervais is a comedy God who really doesn’t owe anything to anyone. Short of swearing on live television, I’m not sure that there’s anywhere that the guy won’t go tonight as host. It’s going to be crazy fun! I’m going to be hosting a LIVE Golden Globes chat starting around 8pm EST. I hope you join in on the party! Check back to GMMR soon for the official post.

But if awards shows aren’t your thing, and you want a little more action in your TV lineup, then look no further than Fox who has the series premiere of Human Target and the season premiere of 24. Yes, Jack Bauer is back to save the day…and the world.  As always, Philboy will be here to start the conversation tomorrow, so be sure to tune in.

Project Firefly
Big apologies to those of you who were all set to start the first ‘Watch Along with GMMR’ project of the season. Between work and some personal matters last week, I wasn’t able to kick off Project Firefly like I hoped. But what’s a week, right? Tomorrow we’ll be talking about the first two episodes of Firefly..finally! I hope you watched, and I hope that whether you’re a new fan or a Joss loyalist just wanting to watch the show again, that you’ll join in on our discussion!

Regarding the Firefly project, what “first two episodes” are we watching this week? …it depends, see, if the double-length pilot counts as two episodes, or if the “first two episodes” are the first two episodes to air, or the first two episodes in the canonical chronology of the series. (I prefer the latter. Start with the pilot Serenity.)
