Did Your DVR Cut Off GLEE? Here’s What You Missed…
April 21, 2010 by Kath Skerry
Damn you AMERICAN IDOL! You really couldn’t fit in seven songs within an hour? You really need to pull it together because it’s not fair that the last number from GLEE’s “Power of Madonna” episode was cut off because Seacrest couldn’t keep things on schedule.
If you DVR’d GLEE last night and missed the show stopping “Like a Prayer”, check it out in its entirety.
Missed last night’s GLEE and want to know what everyone is talking about? Watch the full episode below.
Loved it? Hated it? Share your thoughts on last night’s Madonna-rific episode of GLEE!

I blame Siobhan Magnus and I hope that she gets voted off now because she made Glee cut off! Hahaha.
Don’t blame Siobhan. Wasn’t her best night, but …how about Tim or Aaron!!!
You should see all the negative comments (including mine) on Ausiello’s site. He just posted that they are planning on doing yet another Madonna episode for next season. Lots of people are saying that is a bad idea. I really did not like this episode and I used to love this show and for the most part I’ve liked Madonna (love her 2 most recent albums). But Glee is turning into nothing but a vehicle for selling music and so the stories are suffering.
Did they remove Quinn’s baby bump for the “Express Yourself” number or is it just me that noticed it? I understand the need to make all the girls looks good, but they could’ve figured out a better way to make Quinn doing all those dance moves while also being pregnant believable.
I agree with Lelolai in that they need to bring back more focus on the character storylines besides the Finn/Rachel/Jessie St. James triangle.
I just rewatched the episode, and while I agree it would have done better with a few less songs the plot was actually advanced a lot more than I thought on first look.
btw— is someone keeping track of all Brittany’s lines?
I expected to dislike this episode after listening to your podcast, so I think that prepared me for low expectations and I was actually pleased! I like that they are attacking the sex/no sex topic which is clearly on all kids minds in high school, but they didn’t just do it for shock value (how very UN-Madonna). They had a message and heart in that story.
I really am tired of Finn and Rachel’s choreography when they sing to each other. Do they only get instructed to twirl around each other? It’s very annoying.
LOVED the 4 minutes routine and I also loved the guys singing. That was a great song! I fast forwarded through the Vogue video because I saw it when it was on MTV with Madonna and I don’t need to see something re-made frame for frame. I’ll go back and watch probably, but it’s not at the top of my priority list.
BTW, do you notice my avatar and realize how happy I am that Lauren and Neil will be on SYTYCD?!?! yea!
Toast with Jam – Not sure what you picked up in our podcast, but both Dan and I loved the Madonna episode.
I loved, loved, loved this episode. I’m not a huge Madonna fan, but I loved the songs they chose. My favorite part was the “Like a Virgin” bit, Matthew Morrison on a bed??? Oh be still my beating heart.
I have NO patience for Madonna, so clearly this was not my favorite episode (which was annoying, because I felt like the Finn/Rachael tension was really great). It totally annoyed me that they lost Quinn’s baby bump for the dance number too. If they do another Madonna episode I may skip it entirely, and that makes me sad because I do love the show.
Wow, Kath, I’ve posted a million comments and you finally replied! OK, I’m up off the floor now. Cancel the 911. 🙂
Yes, you did say that you liked the Madonna episode. I took the overall tone of your podcast as a “yes, but” theme. Yes I liked it but it was very sexual. It’s not for kids to watch. I had the impression that it was sexual just for shock value (in keeping with the Madonna theme), but it really had good lessons for teens. I can totally understand that little kids shouldn’t watch it. They really put it out there what kinds of attitudes and feelings the teens go through on the subject.
oops, i had the impression that it was GOING to be….
anyway, when you boil it down we both liked it. Yea Glee!
