HAPPY TOWN: The Magic Man to be Revealed as the Series Wraps Online
June 21, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
ABC’s HAPPY TOWN — the mystery show that had many making TWIN PEAKS comparisons — will wrap up online, as the final two episodes will be available for viewing on ABC.com.
The network pulled the low-rated series rather quickly after its late April debut, but it returned in June with more installments.
Fans will have to hit the internets, however, to see the last couple hours.
Executive producer Josh Appelbaum tells GIVE ME MY REMOTE that there is some good news, though: “We answer the biggest question of the series: ‘Who is the Magic Man?’ That will be revealed in the final moments of the finale.”
Appelbaums says that reveal was also intended to be the show’s first season cliffhanger, had HAPPY TOWN been renewed. The revelation was meant to shake the foundation of the series. But, even though we wont be able to see the repercussions of it in a season two, Appelbaum feels people will be really satisfied with how they end the last ep. “If you’ve been playing along with the show, your mind should be blown by the final moments,” he tells us.
So, thoughts?
Will you hit ABC.com to peep HAPPY TOWN’s conclusion?

I’ve watched them all…though it was definitely not appointment tv. I even fast forwarded through parts. I will watch them online just to find out the identity of the magic man.
When will they be posted online?
I had started taping the series and definitely got into it! When will the ending be available to watch online?
More please! I have been engrossed from the first episode (and I watch about 1-2 hours of TV per week aside from Simpsons reruns and sports/news).
At least, let us read the script, or a book or something! So what if you revealed the “Magic Man.” That just starts a whole mess of other questions. Not at all satisfied…you might as well not have revealed the magic man.
More, please, please, please!!!
I just watched the final two episodes on HULU. I am very disappointed knowing who the Magic Man turned out to be. No one would ever guess. I sure never suspected this person. I was a bit stunned, actually.
I just finished the final episode, I really wish there was another season! great show once you get into it
who is the magic man in the show happy town my mom wants to know cause she missed the last episode cause she was at school and she wants me to find it out for her cause she cant watch it online and she cant get answers of internet so yeah help me out thank you .
I just watched the last two episodes online and was totally excited! The show was finally getting really good and I was anxious to see how everything would wrap up. I finally thought we were going to get some answers…and now this!
We’ll never know all the secrets and that’s soooo frustrating! What about Chloe? Why does she look so familiar to Rachel? What’s the deal with Mrs. Haplin? Where are the Magic Man’s victims? Why them?
SO MANY unanswered questions!
The reveal at the end of the the last episode was so obviously a cliff-hanger for season 2. More unanswered questions than on Jeopardy. We are intrigued piecemeal about the Blue Door movie and that because of what is in it the Halpens cannot leave the town, but we never see enough of the movie, nor is its content ever explained. The hammer is worth $250.000 to Ma Halpen, we are told it is a murder weapon, yet its real significance is again witheld as another unanswered question.
Where indeed are the victims ? Why were they taken in the first place ? Why did the Sheriff cut off his own hand ? Why did a victim’s hand come out on a loaf of bread that was baked when the hand showed no sign of being in an oven (and why did he/she/they cut off that hand in the first place) ?
A great idea for a series, with some excellent performances, good use of background music and beautiful scenery and location shooting, but at the finale I expected all of the characters to wake up in the shower (like Bobby Ewin did so many years ago) and that none of it really happened.
Suspense / whodunnit shows should film an end (not necessarily the end – they can always change it if they get a new season – perhaps multiple ends so no-one is sure which is due to be shown?) episode early on in case the show gets cancelled, that way at least its supporting viewers will not be left frustrated. A strongly worded and financially painful NDA usually keeps mouths closed to not reveal the end too soon.
From my country (Thailand) , I can’t seem to find where to watch the last two episodes online because on ABC and hulu not allow the Non-US to watch some of their VDO. Seems like no one in my country watch this TV show neither. It’s been almost a year now..Hopeless to find out who is the magic man.. 🙁
