Alex Wong Dominates (Again) on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE

Let me start off by saying that I’ve remained UNSPOILED on this year’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Top 10…and I want to remain unspoiled. So shhhh.
At this point in time, I don’t know if Alex Wong has made the all important final cut, but I can tell you that I was blown away, once again, by his audition.
We first met Alex last season. After his jaw dropping performance he made it straight to Vegas. He survived the grueling week and made it to the final day, only to have to drop out because of his binding contract with the Miami Ballet. He was promised a bid straight to Vegas if he opted to return, and I’m so glad he did.
Check out Alex’s S7 audition, Yowza!
SYTYCD – Bryan Gaynor Has Got Moves You’ve Never Seen

…unless you’ve seen this show before.
He’s back and he’s even better than the last time we saw him.
Bryan Gaynor, a 23 year old from Kennesaw, GA, suffers from Scoliosis, but you would never know he suffered from any kind of ailment when you are watching him dance. This kid is mesmerizing! I’ve never seen anyone better in this genre. The subtly of his movement will leave you bewildered in the best possible way.
Bryan is no stranger to long time SYTYCD fans. He first auditioned for the show in Season 3, and while he didn’t make the program he was invited back to perform during that season’s finale show. Looks like Brian, along with his crew, will be back again later this season. I can’t wait.

DROP DEAD DIVA: Get Caught Up for Season Two

The transition into summer TV mode can be tough. With our regular season finales behind us, who has the time and energy to get caught up on new characters and existing plots? Over the past three years, only Army Wives has cracked my DVR during beach season.
The creative folks behind Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva understand our plight, and have produced a video that will prepare you for this Sunday’s Season Premiere in just 71 seconds. That’s less time than it takes Kristen Stewart to look sad about her latest seven figure Twilight paycheck!
Drop Dead Diva debuted to rave reviews last year, and our resident BONES expert Seeleybaby will be recapping the show this season on GMMR. (And Kath is current mainlining S1 in order to get caught up) What more incentive do you need?
Drop Dead Diva: Season Two premieres Sunday, June 8th at 9pm/8c on Lifetime. Will you be watching?

Rest In Peace Rue McClanahan

I’m sad to share the news that early this morning, Rue McClanahan, passed away after suffering a massive stroke. Rue was 76 years old.
Rue was best known for her role as Blanche Devereaux, the feistiest of all the Golden Girls. With Rue’s passing, sadly the only Golden Girl still with us is Betty White. Bea Arthur passed in 2009 and Estelle Getty in 2008.
You will be missed, Rue…and Blanche.

In the pilot episode, Sue auditions for show choir; Brick asks Frankie to come to his class presentation dressed in a costume; Frankie thinks she has finally sold a car. [GMMR: I know this is a rerun, but I’m going to try to give this show another shot this summer. What I’ve seen has been funny and my friends seem to love it.]

Yes, I was disappointed to have missed John Krasinski’s appearance during Conan’s live show at Radio City last night, but then I saw this and I was damn near suicidal that I wasn’t at the show.

Conan’s coming to Boston soon and I don’t have tickets. So sad!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: A Sort of Homecoming

Who is on your team? If you had to put together a starting lineup of friends, who would make the cut? It is becoming difficult to identify our inner circles, especially when social networks now extend far beyond our hometowns. I relish in the temporary satisfaction of having a virtual friend “like” my Facebook status or retweet one of my jokes. Yet, I can count the number of true confidants in my life on one hand.
On this week’s Friday Night Lights, some of Dillon’s most recognizable faces learned that allegiances can shift instantly. The game of perception cannot be mastered, so you have to go to battle with people you trust. It is as simple as Coach Eric Taylor says. “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.”
