CHILDRENS HOSPITAL Makes its Television Debut on Cartoon Network

July 11, 2010 by
Filed under #1 featured, Childrens Hospital

Hospital dramas like GREY’S ANATOMY, HOUSE and ER have been begging to be made fun of for decades now.

Sitcoms such as SCRUBS have done so in the past, mocking the over-the-top dramatics of the different shows and their unnecessarily serious nature — not to mention the inappropriately-timed sexual encounters that are happening… mostly on GREYS.

But former DAILY SHOW dude, Rob Corddry, has taken the mockery to new heights in Cartoon Network’s CHILDRENS HOSPITAL.

CH was actually a web series first, premiering on TheWB.com two years ago.

Cartoon Network found it so damn funny, however, that they snatched it up and have started airing the episodes on Sundays after FAMILY GUY on Adult Swim.

There will be newly-produced eps as well, and yeah, you should watch, because it’s good stuff.

A quick look…

CHILRENS HOSPITAL airs Sundays at 10:30 p.m. on Cartoon Network.

Will you watch?

Did you peep the premiere?

Any thoughts?

BIG BROTHER: Nomination Night

Previously on BIG BROTHER: The 13 houseguests met, picked rooms and were quickly introduced to one of the many ‘unexpected’ twists of the summer – The Saboteur.  This season one of the houseguests is out to sabotage the his/her roommates. If the “Sabo” manages to remain in the game to the half way point, they will receive $50,000. Hayden became this season’s first HOH.

We’re not even a full week into BIG BROTHER 12 and my addiction has already reared its ugly head.  The three hours of BIG BROTHER AFTER DARK airing every night on Showtime could be the death of me.  I’m not proud. Having watched so much, I can tell you that I’ve already learned a lot about this season’s houseguests and I know which ones I’m ready to cheer for and who I’d like to see booted.

If you read GMMR’s BIG BROTHER 12 Spoilers post then you already know who is on the block for eviction, but we’ll still watch all the same. (Note: If you are watching the live feeds or BBAD and want to contribute to GMMR’s BIG BROTHER coverage this season, please email me at info(at)givememyremote(dot)com.)

The Saboteur Suspects
If this were a drinking game in which we all had to take a shot any time one of the HG’s said “saboteur” we’d all be dead right now, or at least dancing with some lampshades on our head.  Seriously, I’m already over the “sabo” and it’s only episode two.  Paranoia has set in and everyone has their suspicions.

Andrew and Brendon are the two likeliest suspects.  Both guys got up and moved around went the lights went out and the sabo did his/her dirty work.  Andrew took advantage of the dark to play a few practical jokes on his roommates.  When the lights came on, he was laying on the ground behind the couch.  Even more suspicious was Brendon who decided to brush his teeth during the blackout. Very odd.

Steve Carell & Stephen Colbert – The Return of Even Stevphen

Steve Carell returned to his “roots” last week when he appeared as a guest on THE COLBERT REPORT hosted by his best friend, Stephen Colbert.

As expected, their bit was hilarious…and awkward. Just how awkward was it? So much so that the two had to debate the amount of awkwardness old school style – Even Stevphen. For those of you who don’t remember this former DAILY SHOW bit, Steve and Stephen would give their hilarious take on important topics, each making their own points in the most absurd ways.

Check out this week’s debate and continue on for two of my favorite Even Stevephen’s of all time.

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are Married

Comments Off on John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are Married

Congratulations to THE OFFICE’s John Krasinski and his new bride, Emily Blunt.  The two were married on Saturday in a private, outdoor ceremony at the Villa D’este in Como, Italy.

“John and Emily were married on Saturday in a private ceremony,” Krasinski’s rep told US Magazine. Blunt wore a custom cream chiffon sweetheart draped Marchesa gown with embroidered detail.

“It was an outdoor ceremony and absolutely beautiful,” says an insider. George Clooney and Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis were in attendance; Blunt and Krasinski had been staying at Clooney’s nearby Lake Como estate since the July 4th weekend.

John is the second OFFICE star to get married this month. His on-screen wife, Jenna Fischer, married writer Lee Kirk just last weekend. Yes, Jim and Pam are married in real life…we can stop the day dreaming.

For those of you who may be concerned about my emotional state, please know that I’m doing fine. It’s been a tough few days, but the worst of it is over. I’m doing my best to accept this union despite my obvious protests. Kidding, of course. John is a truly a wonderful guy and I wish him and Emily nothing but the best. (But if he wants to have a hot fling once a year, he has my phone number…just saying.)

Saturday’s Comic-Con schedule has been released, and man, is it a doozy.

With so many panels overlapping, even those who attend are going to be missing out on something. That is, unless you figure out a way to clone yourself– and if you do, please share the secret in the comment section below, because we’d really like to get in on that.

But in the meantime, we weeded through the huge list of panels and picked out some of the highlights.

10:00-11:00 Nickelodeon Presents: The SpongeBob SquarePants Secret Formula Revealed!— Ever wonder what delicious ingredients go into making an episode of SpongeBob? The masterminds behind the show — executive producer Paul Tibbitt (Nightmare Ned), head writer Steven Banks (The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius), creative director Vincent Waller (Ren & Stimpy), supervising storyboard director Tuck Tucker (Hey Arnold!), layout supervisor Kenny Pittenger (CatDog), storyboard director Luke Brookshier (Kim Possible), background painter Andy Clark (Dexter’s Laboratory), animation director Andrew Overtoom (Family Guy), and the voice of SpongeBob himself, Tom Kenny — show you how the kernel of an idea turns into a fully animated episode. Some of the most successful films of the last decade have been animated. But how different are they to write from live-action features?  From television scripts?  And what about direct-to-DVD animated features? The writers of some of the top animated features will talk about the process of creating those films, their interactions with the artists and the studios, and how they came to be involved with their project. Panelists tentatively scheduled include Alan Burnett (Green Lantern: First Flight), Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After), John Musker (The Princess and the Frog), Dean DeBlois (How to Train Your Dragon), Wallace Wolodarsky (Monsters vs. Aliens), and moderator Craig Miller (Elfquest). Room 6BCF

Produced by Fake Empire, Wonderland Sound and Vision in association with Warner Bros. Television, Chuck airs Mondays at 8pm ET/PT on NBC, and Chuck: The Complete Third Season will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on September 7. Ballroom 20

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Choreographer Stacey Tookey Reacts to her Emmy Nom

Filed under Emmys, So You Think You Can Dance, SYTYCD

Remember the “Fear” number that Kathryn and Legacy performed during SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE season 6? It was definitely a stand out and it seems the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences thinks so too, nominating choreographer Stacey Tookey for an Emmy on Thursday (7/8) morning.

GMMR met up with Tookey just hours after she learned of the honor.

She talks to us about how she found out, who she called first and why she just can’t believe it’s all happening.

She’s super cute. Take a look…

Which nominated SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE number will you be pulling for at the Emmys? Stacey’s “Fear” or Mia Michaels’ “Addiction”?

BIG BROTHER 12 Season Premiere Recap: Beauty & Brains…but Shhh Don’t Tell

Comments Off on BIG BROTHER 12 Season Premiere Recap: Beauty & Brains…but Shhh Don’t Tell

The BIG BROTHER houseguests have only been living with each other for a few days now and they are already sick of one another. Paranoia is running high. Oh this is going to be a great summer!

During last night’s season premiere, The Chenbot introduced us to the guys and gals who will be shacking up this summer in the BIG BROTHER house. As always, there’s enough muscles and silicon to make us all question their self esteem. Seriously, do you really need boobs that big?

Once again the “smart” kids are playing dumb as they think it will work to their advantage. They don’t want anyone to know how smart they really are because it might affect how people perceive them.  Right, because it takes brains to win BIG BROTHER.  May I please introduce you to last year’s winner, Jordan Lloyd. A sweetheart, whom I adored, but a Mensa member she is not.

The houseguests had just enough time to pick a bed and figure out who they were going to try to sleep with this summer when Julie called them back to the living room to let them in on this season’s twist – The Saboteur. One of the HG’s isn’t in it to win it necessarily, but merely make it to the half-way point and collect some buku bucks. As long as this mystery person isn’t voted off, they’ll collect the money.  Everyone is already a suspect.

Head of Household Competition

The first HOH competition on BB12 had the houseguests split in two teams as they had to jump on a giant hot dog and ride it from one side of the platform to the other.  Let the lazy sexual innuendos fly. The first team members across took home cash prizes with the added bonus of having targets on their back.  The last person across was Head of Household – not the most desirable position for week one. I guess no one told Hayden because he was stoked to have won the control.  Then again, he doesn’t strike be as the brightest of bulbs.

Britney got “hurt” during the competition and had to sit out. She was so hurt in fact that she could only jump up and down a few times in celebration. That girl got acting lessons from Kobe Bryant. Pathetic.
