They play one of TV’s best bromances onscreen, but PSYCH stars James Roday and Dule Hill share a similar chemistry offscreen as well.
When GIVE ME MY REMOTE chatted with the duo, they bantered off each other — much like their characters do — but we did manage to get a few serious answers to our season 5 questions from them.
Will Shawn or Gus find romance?
Will Roday be writing or directing again?
Check it out…
Will you be watching the season premiere tonight?

PSYCH’s Timothy Omundson: ‘Lassiter needs a lady!’

Comments Off on PSYCH’s Timothy Omundson: ‘Lassiter needs a lady!’
PSYCH’s Carlton Lassiter has never really been good with the ladies.
Actually, as far as television characters are concerned, we’re pretty sure Lassiter has some of the worst luck in love that we’ve ever had the pleasure of watching.
But his portrayer, Timothy Omundson, wants that to change.
“Lassiter needs a lady!” he tells us in the video below.
In fact, he has a whole storyline planned out, which we think is pretty damn awesome.
Peep the video below for that, plus Omundson telling us all about his upcoming tap dancing episode…
And since we promised him that we’d ask the writers on his behalf, below is our pitch to PSYCH creator Steve Franks…
What do you guys think? Should Lassiter find love in season 5?

NBC’s COMMUNITY Enlists Betty White in the War Against BIG BANG
July 14, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
Filed under #1 featured, Community, TV News
Look how happy the students of Greendale Community College are!
Why are Jeff and Pierce and Shirley and Annie practically beaming today?
Because they’re huge Betty White fans and the HOT IN CLEVELAND actress has agreed to come hang with them, playing a kooky anthropology professor in COMMUNITY’s season premiere this fall.
COMMUNITY, which will go head-to-head with THE BIG BANG THEORY this September when the popular CBS sitcom moves into their 8 p.m. Thursday timeslot, needed a weapon like White, so kudos to them for coming up with the idea and making it happen too.
Can’t wait to see what that crazy bi— adorable grandma lady adds to the Greendale landscape… should be good.
Don’t you think?

PSYCH’s Kirsten Nelson on Being a Mother Hen, Her Dream Guest Stars
July 14, 2010 by Marisa Roffman

As the underappreciated Chief Vick on USA’s PSYCH, Kirsten Nelson has gotten used to playing “mother hen” to Shawn, Gus and the detectives of the SBPD.
But now that Shawn’s dad, Henry, is coming aboard to assist Vick in keeping Shawn under control, will there be any second thoughts?
“I didn’t think [Henry] was going to take [Chief Vick] up on that,” Nelson says. “[But] I think it’s going to be a good thing…the Chief can’t concentrate on Mr. Spencer all the time. The Chief has an entire department to oversee.”
But will this be a long-term situation?
“I don’t know how long it will last,” Nelson shares. “We’ll see how well father and son get along after a few episodes. But I think it’ll be interesting having him in the office again…I kind of see the Chief as a mother hen…to have another adult in the station…there is a different level with Henry, which I think is kind of cool.”
In the video interview below, Nelson also shares some of her dream guest stars with us, and we gotta say, the girl has good taste: Esai Morales, Hugh Laurie and Emily Deschanel? Amazing.
She’s also gushing over her TV sis, Jane Lynch.
We so approve.
Take a look…
Such a fangirl. We love it.
Would you like to see any of Nelson’s dream casting picks actually happen?

Comments Off on PSYCH’s Maggie Lawson: Juliet is Going Through a Dark Time
PSYCH is back tonight (July 14)!
USA Network’s ridiculously fun series about a fake psychic detective returns for a fifth season and leading lady Maggie Lawson (Juliet) tells GIVE ME MY REMOTE that the trauma from last year — Juliet was nearly killed by the Yin Yang Killer — will prompt some changes.
“I think it’s finally gotten to her,” Lawson says in the video below. “I think rather than it being ‘Juliet bounces back!,’ I think she’s going to be feeling it a little more.”
A more human side of Jules?
“And her dark side,” she teases. “So then there will be other things we’ll see in the first few episodes of season 5, too… about Juliet going through her dark time.”
Besides her newly darkened hair?
Uh, yes.
Check out the video below for more from Lawson, including her desire to further explore Jules’ personal life and why Shawn needs to “man up”…
PSYCH season 5 premieres tonight at 10 ET/PT on USA Network.

THE WIRE Project: Season 1, Disc 3

Week 3 of The Wire Project brought Baltimore’s police closer to their targets in Avon Barksdale’s crew. Utilizing their wiretaps, Lieutenant Daniels’ team gathered substantial evidence about the movement of drugs into the projects. The little details being assembled, however, unearthed pieces of their case that fit a larger, much more ominous puzzle.
On the other side of the law, D’ Angelo had to reassure Wallace that a life spent playing “The Game” was worth living. A few blocks away, Avon & Stringer paused to consider the ramifications of Omar’s imminent retribution and Orlando’s extracurricular activities.
As the plot thickened, I reached out to my friend Heather for help. With Green Tea on tap and my Wi-Fi connection at full strength, we tried to make sense of this complex batch of episodes. Since The Wire Project is a group effort, please chime in with your thoughts and theories. This show is a perfect example of why GIVE ME MY REMOTE exists, to foster conversations about TV’s best from a community of thoughtful readers.

COVERT AFFAIRS: Piper Perabo and Chris Gorham on Chemistry and Kicking Butt
July 13, 2010 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, Covert Affairs
USA Network’s newest show, COVERT AFFAIRS, debuts tonight (July 13) and, if you’re a fan of the channel, you should know it’s a little different from the types of series you’re used to them airing.
Piper Perabo plays Annie Walker, a CIA agent who is suddenly fast-tracked into field duty under mysterious circumstances.
And yes, there are certainly similarities to the late, great ALIAS — minus the Rambaldi stuff. But it seems as though COVERT AFFAIRS will be a bit darker than, say, WHITE COLLAR or BURN NOTICE.
GIVE ME MY REMOTE chatted with stars Perabo and Chris Gorham — who plays a blind analyst, named Auggie — to get their thoughts on the show, their chemistry and kicking some tail…
Sela Ward to Replace Melina Kanakaredes on CSI:NY
July 13, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
Filed under CSI, New York, TV News
Welcome back to the small screen, Sela Ward.
In the wake of Melina Kanakaredes’ announcement that she’s exiting CSI: NY, CBS has confirmed that Ward will step in to fill the vacancy.
Said executive producer Pam Veasey, “We are delighted to have Sela joining ‘CSI: NY.’ With the exciting stories planned for Season 7, she’ll be a dynamic addition to the cast and the team.”
Ward, herself, admitted to being a huge fan of the show and said she’s thrilled to be working with star Gary Sinise and such a terrific group of people.
Sela will apparently be playing a seasoned D.C. investigator with a soft spot for victims.
She’ll first appear in this fall’s premiere.

LIFE UNEXPECTED Adds Arielle Kebbel as a Possible Love Interest for Baze, Plus Amy Price-Francis
July 13, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
Filed under Life Unexpected, TV News
Remember this chick from that one episode of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES? Or maybe you’re familiar with her because Dean married her after Rory dumped him on GILMORE GIRLS?
Well, either way, you should know that she’ll be popping up on The CW’s LIFE UNEXPECTED this fall.
GIVE ME MY REMOTE has confirmed that — as EW.com first reported — Kebbel will play Paige, a fresh face whom Baze may be taking notice of, while 24 actress Amy Price-Francis will come on board to play Kelly, a conservative author and personality who begins working alongside Cate and Ryan at the radio station.
Any thoughts?

THE HILLS Series Finale: Kristin Leaving Town, Lauren Looking Back

Update: THE HILLS is ova! Share your thoughts on tonight’s series finale and whether or not THE HILLS will ever really go away. And what to make of the show’s final “illuminating scene”?!
RELATED: What happened on THE HILLS finale? THE HILLS final scene (Watch).
Feel free to reminisce about your favorite memories and the good ‘ol days back before everything went just a little nuts (yeah, we’re mainly talking to you Heidi and Spencer.) The comments are open.
A lot has changed over six seasons of MTV’s THE HILLS. I mean, just look at Heidi Montag’s face in the photo above.
Of the four original cast members, only Audrina Patridge remains, and tonight’s series finale will focus on the fallout from Kristin Cavallari‘s heartbreak, courtesy of one Mr. Brody Jenner.
Check out the clip below for a preview of that drama, which will play out at 10 p.m. on MTV.
But don’t pop your TV off at 10:30, because the network is airing “THE HILLS: HOLLYWOOD ENDING” at 11. It will feature the show’s OG leading lady, Ms. Lauren Conrad, plus THE CITY’s Whitney Port, Lo Bosworth, Audrina, KC and others as they reflect on the journey, straight from the Roosevelt Hotel in L.A., where it all began.
Yes, around the pool the Roosevelt is where that episode 1 Teen Vogue party — that Heidi snuck all her friends into — took place. I, myself, was there that night and noticed that LAGUNA BEACH’s L.C. was wired with a mic/battery pack and seemed to be shooting something. Little did I know that I was witnessing the birth of a massive pop culture phenomenon that would entertain — and annoy — for years to come…
So, be honest, you’re going to miss this bullsh-t, aren’t you?
You know you love it!!

Melina Kanakaredes Leaving CSI: NY

Comments Off on Melina Kanakaredes Leaving CSI: NY
The 7th season of CBS’s CSI: NY is about to begin, but star Melina Kanakaredes won’t be there.
The actress, who portrayed Detective Stella Bonasera for so many years, confirmed her departure in the following statement: “I made some amazing and lifelong friendships during my six seasons on ‘CSI: NY,’ and I will treasure them forever!”
CBS was apparently disappointed by Kanakaredes’ choice to leave: “We hoped Melina would return to ‘CSI: NY’ for another season, but we respect her decision to move on. Her amazing talent and invaluable contribution to the success of the series are greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. She will forever remain a friend to the network and studio and we wish her the very best.”
So, will you watch CSI: NY sans Stella?
If you’re planning to, don’t forget that it has moved to Fridays at 9.
And what do you think of the swirling rumor that Sela Ward (SISTERS, ONCE AND AGAIN, HOUSE) will fill Melina’s vacant spot?
