CASTLE’s Tamala Jones on Romance and Family in Season 3
August 16, 2010 by Marisa Roffman
CASTLE’s Tamala Jones (Lanie) is going to get her time in the spotlight in season 3!
When GIVE ME MY REMOTE caught up with Jones at Comic-Con, she shared that fans will learn more about her character in an upcoming episode.
“I’ve been hearing that they want to do more backstory on Lanie, like maybe bring one of her family members to the forefront,” Jones says in the video below. “And I suggested if we had her mother come in, that Pam Grier would play her mother, because…I would love that. I see the toughness in Lanie that I see in Pam Grier…But we’ll see how far back they go, if any of my family members show up or we just talk about it. But Terri Edda — who wrote the Halloween episode — she’s in charge of writing the Lanie episode and she’s very excited about it and I know it’s going to be amazing because she’s an amazing writer.”
Jones also teased that she’s been hearing some whispers about Lanie and Esposito hooking up…something her onscreen counterpart Jon Huertas (Esposito) is all for.
Plus, what did she think of CASTLE’s first Comic-Con experience? Take a look…

Can’t wait to see Lanie and Espo hook up in season 3!!
Love it!
Thanks for even more Castle scoop and for showing everyone that, as fantastic as they are, Castle is much more than just Castle and Beckett/Nathan and Stana (and if I’m saying Castle is more than Nathan, you know that the whole cast is pretty damn amazing too!!)
I love this Lanie & Esposito idea! She is so pretty, and I love how much crap she gives Castle when he flirts with her. Castle was on my “dvr it and catch up on Sunday afternoons” list at the beginning of last season, but slowly inched its way to must see TV for me. I agree with Kath; it’s so nice to see the other characters developed as well! I am all for a Castle/Kate pairing eventually, but it gets kind of darn depressing when that kind of story-line takes over an entire season.
