WAREHOUSE 13: Around The Bend
August 11, 2010 by Sarah Curtis

I don’t know about all of you, but after last week’s preview, I was really looking forward to this episode. Warehouse 13 is best when it aligns the artifacts and casework with good character development. As much as these Season Two episodes have made me laugh, there is still that underlying thread that some of us here on GIVE ME MY REMOTE talked about last season where the writers need to make sure that the characters don’t look too much like goofballs dropped in the middle of nowhere on accident. Pete and Myka ARE (were) top agents after all, and being assigned to the warehouse was a promotion. Not that it’s been a cake walk, as Pete tells his old flame, Kate Logan, played by the gorgeous Tia Carrere.
In this episode, Pete and Myka are visiting a British museum that includes some cool treasures and a walking stick known to cause earthquakes. Later on in the episode, the walking stick comes into play several times, but in a way we’ve never seen before on this show. But first, when Pete and Myka see it about to be swiped from the museum, they take action. Pete is surprised outside of the building when Mrs. Frederic approaches him and insists that he let the perpetrator escape and lie about it.
We can see that lying doesn’t sit well with Pete, and that’s a good thing.
He and Myka are called back to the warehouse immediately, where they (along with Claudia and Artie) are surprised by a visit from Valda, a Regent. What I loved about this part was that I really had no idea if Valda was there because he really was concerned about their work as agents, or if it was just a ploy to get them riled up. And I was constantly trying to read Pete’s body language and Artie’s reactions to see if they were in on it or more or less shocked than anyone else. And what about Mrs. F? Was she working on behalf of the Regents? Perhaps sacrificing Pete for the sake of the cause? Yes, yes, Warehouse 13 fans, this episode certainly brought the intrigue!
It didn’t slow down at all when Pete had a secret mission from Mrs. Frederic. I liked that she reinforced what he said about not keeping secrets from his team. And even though he’d been a prime player so far in the episode, I was surprised to see Valda as Pete’s first mark.
One thing I loved was that when Myka was suspicious of Pete, her mind automatically went to alcohol. Not that I want her to think Pete is drinking or anything; I was just glad in that moment that she didn’t intrinsically think that he was lying to her about the case. And holla, Eddie McClintock’s acting during the ‘intervention’; He was great this entire episode, but that particular scene was awesome. Heck to the yes!
Intrigue doesn’t even begin to describe the intensity of the middle minutes of this episode. I just didn’t have a good feeling about Kate Logan, especially when she had that suspicious ‘decaf’ with Pete, and he followed her back to her bed. But I never could have imagined Myka interrupting them, followed by a foot chase, a sniper-hit and then Myka walking into Kate’s office. Please tell me I am not the only one who was blown away by all of that! And that was just the beginning of the plot twist.
Even 45 minutes into this thing, I wasn’t 100% convinced that Pete was really affected by the artifact (the telegraph machine from the British museum) and was going insane with linear mirage visions. So please forgive my slight dissatisfaction with the ending of the episode. I really don’t want to take anything from it, because I think it was one of the best of the series, but didn’t it feel a little like it was too tightly wrapped up at the end? It was too much of a jolt to just be back at the warehouse, making jokes, right?
Not that I didn’t laugh, several times during this episode, in fact. Pete and Myka still share that brother/sister vibe, and it was very touching to see how she was affected by his affliction. His interactions with Mrs. F were hilarious. And I liked the writer’s move to have Pete not only be affected by an artifact (the telegraph) but to also be the one inflicting an artifact (the earthquake inducing walking stick). But what I loved most was that throughout it all, Pete’s motivation, despite his altered reality, was centered on keeping his team safe. Likewise, they worked very hard to help him get back to the Pete we all know and love.
What did you think of this episode? It’s hard to believe, but we are just about halfway done with this season of Warehouse 13. Say it ain’t so, right? I’m hoping we hear about a season three pick up very soon. Till then, make some noise and be heard in the comments below!

BONES Scoop: Creator Hart Hanson on the Upcoming ‘Strange’ Episode, Guest Stars and Season 6

BONES creator Hart Hanson really doesn’t like spoilers. At all.
In fact, bringing up spoilers around him pretty much guarantees he’ll squirm and call you names.
(Okay, fine, the names he called me might have been prompted by my freaky memory, but close enough.)
Nevertheless, I wasn’t going to let potential insults prevent me from pushing the issue further during our latest meeting.
The things I do for you guys.
Read on for Hart’s take on the upcoming season 6, from the “strange” fourth episode to possible guest stars and more…
CBS Unveils THE TALK: Here’s Where They Went Wrong
August 10, 2010 by Erik Wilkinson
Filed under Daytime TV, Posts by Erik, TV News
CBS made waves in the daytime TV arena recently, announcing the fall debut of their own all-female panel show. Though THE TALK will not directly compete with THE VIEW, opting for the 2:00pm time slot to replace AS THE WORLD TURNS, the CBS brass is targeting viewers who invite Whoopi Goldberg & Elisabeth Hasselbeck into their homes each morning.
Casting is the most critical piece of constructing a successful daytime franchise. With TV audiences segmented more than ever before, CBS executives had to make a big splash in order to attract a wide audience for THE TALK. A combination of personalities who would take viewers away from soap operas, cooking shows, and Law & Order reruns simultaneously.
Who will greet us when THE TALK premieres this fall? Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert, Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete, and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
Uh oh…
That sound you did NOT just hear? It was your interest being piqued.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS Summer Finale: Something Major Goes Down in the Last Ten Minutes
August 10, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
GIVE ME MY REMOTE has seen a lot of the PRETTY LITTLE LIARS lately, chatting with the ladies at Sunday’s TEEN CHOICE AWARDS and meeting up with them for a day of “glamping” (glamorous camping, of course) at the Willow Spa this week as well.
The glamping was in honor of Tuesday’s summer season finale, during which Mona hosts a similar sort of event and invites the PLLs to attend… though Hanna’s invitation is revoked when Mona receives a message from ‘A’ claiming that Hanna expedited her recent weight loss with some secret liposuction.
No matter. Hanna will gladly watch Mona’s bash from the sidelines, especially after the girls get a text which leads them to believe that ‘A’ will be there.
Meanwhile, the FBI descends upon Rosewood with a piece of videotape from the night Alison disappeared, which makes somebody who is close to one of the girls look very guilty.
And it’s seriously difficult to know who to trust as the situation seems to be getting increasingly dangerous.
Even the actresses who play the “Pretty Little Liars” — Shay Mitchell, Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario and Ashley Benson — are unsure of which way this story is headed.
“I think it’s going to be awhile before we find out [who ‘A’ is],” Benson said with her co-stars nodding in agreement and confirming that ‘A”s identity on the TV show is not the same as his or her identity in the book series.
That’s right, I said his or her.
Has it ever crossed your mind that ‘A’ could be a dude?
When I jokingly told Hale that her former onscreen love interest, Ezra, was obviously the culprit, she told me that several people have seriously suggested this theory.
Hale is hoping, however, that’s not the case as she’s rooting for an Ezra-Aria reunion.
So, what do you guys think?
Any guesses on the identity of ‘A’ at this point?
Everyone is a suspect, no?
Is it possible that one of the girls’ parents is running this scam?
Hanna’s mom (Laura Leighton) is strapped for cash and bitter about her divorce — in fact, she may be doing something very shady in this finale to deal with her financial situation. Aria’s mom (Holly Marie Combs) is confronting the infidelity of her husband, which her daughter kept from her for over a year. Emily’s mom (Nia Peeples) is just beginning to suspect her kid’s lesbian tendencies… though I don’t know that that’s a suitable motive for deception and/or murder… but, hey, I’m simply throwing out ideas here.
Either way, the mystery will unfold further at 8 p.m. this evening on ABC Family. And make sure you stay alert for the episode’s final ten minutes, because Mitchell and Bellisario told me that something which will have the audience talking until PRETTY LITTLE LIARS returns in January is about to go down…

BACHELOR PAD WTF Moment of the Week: Bad Romance
August 10, 2010 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, Bachelor Pad
ABC really gave us no time to miss THE BACHELOR franchise after last week’s THE BACHELORETTE finale, did they?
But ready or not, BACHELOR PAD premiered Monday night and the drama was present, right from the start.
I figured things were going to be trashtastically crazy from the promos.
But what I didn’t realize was that many of the contestants already knew each other and there were already a few established relationships.
DROP DEAD DIVA Exclusive: See SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE’s Tyce Diorio Guest Star

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE choreographer Tyce Diorio is moonlighting, my friends.
In his off time from our favorite competition series, the Emmy-winner stopped by Lifetime’s DROP DEAD DIVA to design one of the show’s musical dream sequences and dance in it too.
GIVE ME MY REMOTE has gotten our grubby little hands on the footage, which features the talents of Brooke Elliott, Jackson Hurst and Jaime Ray Newman as well.
Take a look…
Nice work, Tyce. We felt like your heart was in it. It was an exquisite experience for the audience and we want to celebrate where you’re at.
Hehe.
No, but we definitely like watching Diorio do his thing. We almost never get to see SYTYCD’s choreographers/judges actually performing.
Very cool.
Tyce’s episode of DROP DEAD DIVA will air August 29th on Lifetime.

LIFE UNEXPECTED and ONE TREE HILL Plan Crossover

Jamie’s mommy is going on the road.
The CW confirms that ONE TREE HILL characters Haley (Bethanny Joy Galeotti) and Mia (Kate Voegele) will travel to Portland for the October 12th episode of LIFE UNEXPECTED, as EW.com first reported.
Haley and Mia will perform at a music festival sponsored by Cate (Shiri Appleby)’s radio station, which actually makes good sense story-wise and will hopefully draw some of OTH’s loyal fans to LUX.
You cool with this plan?

CASTLE Producer Laurie Zaks Talks Castle-Beckett and That Pesky MOONLIGHTING Curse
August 9, 2010 by Marisa Roffman
CASTLE executive producer Laurie Zaks learned a valuable lesson after the show’s second season finale aired — everyone has an opinion about what’s going down with Castle and Beckett.
“There was an extremely rabid reaction from the fans from the season finale,” Zaks says in the video below. “There was a situation where I went to see my nose doctor — I had a sinus infection — and before he would even look at me, it was, ‘Why did you do that? How did you do that? I don’t understand! How did he go with his ex-wife, he doesn’t even like his ex-wife!’ And I was like, ‘It’s a TV show. We had to.’ I said, ‘Nobody would be talking about it if we just had them ride off into the sunset.'”
So, yeah, Castle and Beckett did not ride off into the sunset when season 2 ended, but where are they when season 3 starts?
“There’s going to be a lot of playing the subtext in the first episode,” Zaks says. “I don’t want to give too much away, but Beckett is tough and Beckett is a cop, but she’s still a girl. And I think you’ll be surprised, too, when we see a little bit into Castle’s emotional feelings and how he dealt [with the events of the finale]. And I think there’s going to be some surprising insight from Alexis…into how to deal with the current situation.”
Watch the video below for more on the “current situation” and whether or not the CASTLE writers think Castle and Beckett could be an on-off couple? Also, do they think that MOONLIGHTING curse is real?

Banned FAMILY GUY Episode Gets DVD Release
August 9, 2010 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under Family Guy, TV News
“Partial Terms of Endearment,” the now infamous, banned-from-television episode of FAMILY GUY, will finally see the light of day via a September 28th DVD release.
The official synopsis of the episode:
The jokes stretch from here to maternity in the hilariously offensive Family Guy episode you couldn’t see on television! Now legal to own (but just barely), Family Guy: Partial Terms of Endearment is a freakin’ poignant tale of what happens when Lois agrees to become a surrogate mother for an infertile couple against Peter’s wishes. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry… it’s your choice!
So yes, the episode deals heavily with abortion and some other controversial topics — as only FAMILY GUY can — hence the ban from television.
The DVD also features a live table read with the cast, nine original songs — including three which have never before been released — THE SETH AND ALEX ALMOST LIVE COMEDY SHOW and a digital copy of the episode.
