As SMALLVILLE heads into its final season, fans of original cast member Allison Mack (Chloe) prepare to accept her reduced role on the series.
It’s all good news for Mack — who is currently doing a play in New York — but SMALLVILLE viewers are understandably bummed and wondering what’s next for Chloe.
GIVE ME MY REMOTE caught up with show producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders to hear what they had to say about the departure of Ms. Sullivan…

ENTOURAGE to End in Summer 2011

The HBO summer comedy — following film star Vince, his brother Johnny, his boys E and Turtle and his super agent Ari Gold — will come to an end next year.
The series, which bowed in 2004, is currently airing its 7th season and will close up shop with a shortened 8th season in 2011, HBO president Michael Lombardo announced at the Television Critics Press Tour this weekend.
The possibility of an ENTOURAGE movie is still on the table, though there are no concrete plans as of yet.
So, thoughts?
Sad to see it go (though it should’ve probably ended a couple years ago)?

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER: Laura Bell Bundy will Replace Don, Robin’s Duck

Comments Off on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER: Laura Bell Bundy will Replace Don, Robin’s Duck
Laura Bell Bundy — who is apparently a country singer and who also did some Broadway stuff… yeah, she sounds kind of familiar — has landed a recurring role on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
Replacing Robin’s former boyfriend Don — no, not in the bedroom, but as her cohost at Metro News One… unless Scherbatsky’s lesbian doppelganger has done a body snatching thing — Bundy’s character will also mix it up with Ted, as EW.com first reported.
She is not, however, the mother, nor is she the major new character whom Ted will become bitter enemies with this season.

Is The Situation Appearing on BONES? The Jersey Boy Gives Us the Scoop
August 6, 2010 by Marisa Roffman
BONES creator Hart Hanson told EW.com earlier this week that he was hoping to have Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino appear on the upcoming JESRSEY SHORE-inspired episode of his series, but is it actually going to happen?
GIVE ME MY REMOTE caught up with The Situation today and asked whether he would actually be appearing on the FOX series.
“I heard that rumor, too,” he said. “You never know. If the right offer comes around, I’d be honored.”
But has he officially been approached by the show to guest star?
“I’ve heard something,” was all he would say. “Nothing official yet, though.”
Hmm.
Would you be okay if The Situation appeared on BONES?
Or would you prefer he stuck to the JERSEY SHORE?

MODERN FAMILY Celebrates Their First Day Back at Work, Emmy Nods
August 6, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
The cast of MODERN FAMILY got back to work this week, beginning season 2 with big smiles, given their recent Emmy nominations and all the positive attention their show has been receiving.
To celebrate, co-creator Steve Levitan joined his actors for an impromptu table read before a bunch of Academy voters on Tuesday (Aug. 3) night.
Check out the video below to get a little sneak peek into the discussion surrounding Nathan Lane’s upcoming guest character — his name is Pepper and he is Cam and Mitchell’s most flamboyant friend, who throws very elaborate parties that involve costumes and such. Last year’s big fete? Passover’s “Seder-Day Night Fever” bash. On tap this year: Oscar’s Wilde and Crazy brunch.
But up first, Levitan and Ed O’Neill offer GIVE ME MY REMOTE a taste of other events to come: A little cross-dressing for Jay, an earthquake, Cam’s mom visiting and more.
Also, expect to see new pairings of the show’s beloved characters this season. Some quality time for Manny and baby Lily is planned, as well as a bit of Claire-Cameron fun…
You excited for the return of MODERN FAMILY?
Hoping they’ll win the Emmy?

MAKE IT OR BREAK IT’s Josie Loren on Her Teen Choice Nomination and What’s Next for Kaylie…and Austin…and Her Parents Too
August 6, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
Filed under #1 featured, Make It or Break It
Josie Loren has a lot going on right now.
Currently enjoying a six-week hiatus from her hit ABC FAMILY show, MAKE IT OR BREAK IT, the young actress is taking a full load of summer semester classes at UCLA, hoping to inch just a little closer to the degree in Mass Media Communications that she’s been working towards for quite some time.
But there won’t be much studying on the agenda this weekend as Loren has been nominated for a Teen Choice Award — Choice Summer TV Star — and MAKE IT OR BREAK IT has received a nod as well — Choice Summer TV Show.
With the ceremony taping on Sunday and airing on Monday, she’s got a full load of celebrating to do over the next few days.
GIVE ME MY REMOTE got a chance to chat with Loren about what’s on tap…
Congrats on the Teen Choice nomination. You’re in great company with stars like Nikki Blonsky and Anna Paquin.
JL: Thank you! I’m very excited. Just to be in that company is very flattering.
ABC FAMILY is kind of dominating in the Summer categories with MIOBI, HUGE, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS and SECRET LIFE.
JL: Oh my gosh, yeah, it’s crazy how much this network has blown up. The president of ABC FAMILY has now moved up to ABC just because he’s been doing so well with the FAMILY network, it’s pretty incredible.
Yeah, what’s up with that, they go and steal your president!
JL: I know! He was doing so well for us.
He really was, you guys have been killing it and of course I’ve been keeping up with MAKE IT OR BREAK IT which is my choice summer TV show.
JL: Well that’s super appreciated, thank you!
And the last episode ended with a big moment for your character, Kaylie, too. Olympic gymnast/playboy Austin just went in for the kiss.
JL: That’s right, yeah.
What do you think of this storyline? Kaylie seems to be trying so hard to stay on the straight and narrow this season, stay focused on gymnastics and yet Austin is insisting on being this distraction.
JL: Well I think that’s the beauty of it. You know, she’s really sticking to her guns and really trying to be as focused as possible and get these goals met — these ridiculous goals that she’s set for herself. But as we know, in life, nothing goes as planned and nothing is perfect. You sometimes just have to let life go and I think that that’s what Austin reminds her of. He brings a lightness into Kaylie’s life that wouldn’t be there without him. I think that without Austin in these ten episodes [that make up the first half of our season], Kaylie would be pretty miserable.
So is she now going to be more open to having him in her life?
JL: It’s still a struggle. You’d think that after they kissed, it would just all fall into place and it definitely doesn’t. He still has to really struggle to break through her walls because she was really hurt and devastated by what happened with [her former boyfriend] Carter [sleeping with her best friend Lauren last season]. She’s not going to just let anybody in. So it’s a battle between them.
He’s pushing for it and she’s pushing him away.
JL: Yeah. There will come a time when they come together and Kaylie finally accepts him, but it takes a lot of drama and a pretty large event, which I cannot disclose right now. But it’ll happen!
A pretty large event. Interesting…
JL: Yes.
Is there anything that you can tease to in the next four episodes, which will close out the first half of season 2?
JL: Well, the last episode is pretty gymnastics intense. There’s a competition and it gets really heated in the gym because we’re getting closer to World Team Tryouts, so nerves are on edge and people’s tempers are flaring.
Yeah, it’s been fun to watch the contentious dynamic between Kaylie and Lauren this season.
JL: Yeah. Like I’ve said, she’s just so focused that not only is she kind of putting blinders to boys but also to the distraction and the drama in her life. So Lauren has just kind of been butted out and eliminated because she doesn’t really wanna deal with her drama. The only drama she does want to deal with [concerns] her parents. That’s like the most important thing to Kaylie right now, other than her gymnastics.
Yes, I liked the little “Parent Trap” scheme she set up a couple weeks ago.
JL: Yeah. It’s heartbreaking though, because she’s trying so hard [to get them to reconcile] and everybody asks me if they stay together and at the end of these ten episodes, that was not addressed. It’s just kind of left open-ended, so I don’t even know if all her hard work pays off. We’ll see.
It’s a very relatable storyline, because so many kids go through it, having to watch their parents split up.
JL: You know, I didn’t go through it, thank God, my parents are still together. But it was almost sad — and very touching — how so many kids reached out to me through Twitter, telling me about their story with their parents and what they went through.
So hopefully the writers will address it properly in the second half of season 2.
JL: Yeah, I hope that they don’t tie it up in a neat little bow, because that wouldn’t be realistic. I think the reason so many people are so moved by the storyline is because it is difficult and it’s a struggle that can go on for a very long time, so I hope [the writers] kind of stretch it out a little bit.
Yeah, Kaylie has a lot going on, which I think is one of the reasons that teen viewers are really connecting with the character. Not only does she have this family drama happening, but she’s lost her boyfriend to her best friend…
JL: Yeah, it’s been a lot of hard work to be honest. But that’s what you want as an actor, to always been challenged. I’m very grateful to the writers.
Well, you’re obviously doing a good job with it. The Teen Choice Awards nomination is proof of that.
JL: Oh, thank you.
Is there anything that you’re particularly looking forward to at the awards this weekend?
JL: I look forward to the celebration of it all. I have absolutely no hopes to win, to be honest. I’m in a category with huge stars, so just being nominated is an honor. It’s such a cliche, but it’s true. And it’s a great show. I look forward to seeing everybody there. I remember that last year it was so much fun, I had such a good time with my castmates, so just being able to do that again is going to be awesome.
Outside of your castmates, is there anyone you’re really excited to see?
JL: Oh, the guy from Gossip Girl. What is his name? I talk about him all the time… Chace Crawford. I remember the first time I saw him in person was last year at the awards show and I was flabbergasted. I was like, how is it possible to be so much better looking in person?! I don’t get it. Yeah, he’s pretty incredible. And I always get a little excited when I see Kim Kardashian. I think she’s beautiful! She’s just a gorgeous girl and carries herself so well.

HAVEN’s Eric Balfour: ‘Duke’s fate is unknown’
August 6, 2010 by Marisa Roffman
Comments Off on HAVEN’s Eric Balfour: ‘Duke’s fate is unknown’
On tonight’s all-new episode of HAVEN, something is rapidly aging the men — including Duke.
“Duke’s fate is certainly unknown,” says Eric Balfour, who spent up to five hours a day in the makeup chair to get that senior citizen look.
Yes, that is him in the picture above.
“This event is going to have an enormous effect on the character and the show and Duke’s role in it,” Balfour says “Beyond what happens simply to Duke, there is something else that happens that — whether Duke lives or dies — completely affects his legacy and his life. It was pretty shocking when we read it.”
But just because Duke has a brush with death, don’t expect him to suddenly change his bad boy ways.
“I can guarantee you, Duke will never be on the straight and narrow,” Balfour says. “He is a modern day outlaw for sure…if he makes it out of this, he’ll never be a 9-to-5 guy. The restaurant [he was just given] — which I doubt Duke would keep it as a restaurant, he’s more of a bar man — only allows Duke another outlet for what he already inherently likes to do…he’s chosen to live his life as an outlaw. He likes it.”
Of course, that means the adversarial relationship between Duke and good boy lawman, Nathan, will continue for the foreseeable future.
Again, if he makes it out.
“The writers have hinted at a long history between Nathan and Duke, but I honestly don’t know when those things are going to be revealed and how quickly,” he admits. “I think it’s like with any good sauce, you have to let it simmer for a while…there’s definitely things to be revealed that will be revealed, but I don’t know when.”
Can’t wait.

NIGEL LYTHGOE: AMERICAN IDOL is an old woman…She doesn’t need botox, just a feather duster

Comments Off on NIGEL LYTHGOE: AMERICAN IDOL is an old woman…She doesn’t need botox, just a feather duster
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE judge Nigel Lythgoe confirmed this week that he will, in fact, be returning to AMERICAN IDOL as a producer next season after a two year break from the show.
So what does he think about all the rumors regarding who will replace Simon Cowell on the judging panel? Is he interested in taking the spot? Would he want Paula Abdul back? Does he think Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler — the apparent frontrunners — are right for the job?
In the video interview below, Lythgoe answers these specific questions and puts the importance of a collective chemistry above each individual candidate’s merits.
Lythgoe, however, seems to think that the intense focus on who will be in that judging collective is foolish, given that AMERICAN IDOL is ultimately about finding the next entertainment superstar.
“Where is the next Michael Jackson?,” he asks.
Still, the show overall will certainly need some tweeking and Lythgoe knows it: “Don’t forget now, it’s going to be happy birthday [IDOL], it’s ten years old, this is an old woman that you’re dealing with now, you’ve got to take great care of her…She doesn’t need to, you know, have botox or anything like that. She just needs a bit of a feather duster…”
So what does Lythgoe have in mind?
He says the middle round, which is after Hollywood Week and before Top 10, really needs to be evaluated. Also, once the show does get into the Top 10, perhaps the contestants should be supported by dancers and pyrotechnics and a whole production number behind them, just as other big name entertainers are.
Watch the video to hear more from Lythgoe on the subject — starting around the 4 minute mark — plus his thoughts on Adechike’s elimination from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE this week and the Top 3 dancers (Lauren, Kent and Robert) who will compete in next Wednesday’s finale.
Also, we’re getting an update on Alex Wong’s condition. Listen in…

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Season 7’s Last Pre-Finale Eliminee Talks Backstage

GIVE ME MY REMOTE was backstage at the show and got a chance to chat with the final kid to be cut before next week’s season ender.
Take a look at the video below to see what Adechike Torbert had to say about the harsh criticism he got from the judges — namely Mia Michaels — what his favorite memory of the experience will be, which numbers he’d most like to perform on tour and where he plans to go after the tour ends…
Any thoughts?
Think it was stupid to ask him why he seemed so down?

With only four dancers left before next week’s finale, it’s going to be tough to see anyone go home tonight. But we must bid farewell to another dancer. Who will it be – Robert, Kent, Adechike or Lauren? Stay tuned, we’ll know soon enough.
Tonight’s show started off with a group number, but sadly the Top 4 dancers didn’t take the stage. You know I love me some All Stars, but it seemed a bit odd not to have the remaining contestants open up the last show before the finale.
Before we get into the results, I just wanted to mention that SYTYCD’s own Travis Wall just announced via Twitter that he will be choreographing this year’s MTV VMAs! What a great honor for Travis. I can’t wait to tune in to see what he pulls out for the big night. Congrats Trav!!
