BONES: Executive Producer Stephen Nathan Talks Season 6, Relationships and Fan Reaction

August 5, 2010 by

As we’ve talked about time and time again, there are lots of rumors about what could be going down in the upcoming sixth season of BONES.

And since show creator Hart Hanson is being rather squirmy — quite literally — whenever we ask about spoilers, we decided to go to executive producer Stephen Nathan and get his take on what’s to come in season 6, whether the passionate fan reaction has changed any of the storylines they had originally planned and what’s on tap for our favorite — and not-so-favorite — couples…

PSYCH, BONES, THE CLEVELAND SHOW, CASTLE: Comic-Con Highlights

August 5, 2010 by
Filed under Bones, Castle, Comic Con, Comic Con 2010, Psych, TV News

Yeah, we know Comic-Con ended more than a week ago.

But between the crappy wifi we encountered in San Diego and then jumping straight into the Television Critics Press Tour, uploading these awesome videos has been a long process.

However, we promised them to you, and we wanted to give you another close look into what went on in case you weren’t able to make the trek down to San Diego.

PSYCH:

Tears for Fears’ Curt Smith — who will be guesting on an upcoming episode of PSYCH — took the stage before the panel started to perform “Shout”…only to receive help from series stars James Roday and Dule Hill…

If Gus and Shawn ever got hitched — to women, not to each other — what would their best man speeches be like? Roday and Hill gave us a preview…

Gus got to show off his tapping skills in a recent episode of PSYCH, so Hill took to the stage for a little encore…

BONES:

Booth and Brennan left a lot unsaid when the season ended, so what would David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel have their characters convey to each other? Deschanel puts her two cents in…

And then Boreanaz gets his turn…

THE CLEVELAND SHOW:

Watching Mike Henry (as his character, Cleveland Brown) rap is just, well, surreal…

CASTLE:

We showed you Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion reading from the “Heat Wave” book, but Fillion also delivered a gem when he showed off his Christopher Walken impersonation…

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE’s Kent Boyd & Neil Haskell Dance a Travis Wall Contemporary Routine

At some point today I’ll get around to sharing my feelings on last night’s episode of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, but for those of you who know me, it should come as absolutely no surprise that Travis Wall’s contemporary routine, danced beautifully by Kent Boyd and Neil Haskell, was my favorite performance of the evening, and one of my favorites of the season.

Kent is such a powerful dancer, but he always maintains such grace in his movement. He makes even the most difficult of combinations looks effortless. Take the time to really watch Kent during every moment of this performance and I think you’ll see why he should be named America’s Favorite Dancer during next week SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE finale.

I’ve watched it over and over again and I’m still taken back by the beauty and power of it all.

Congrats to Kent, Neil and Travis — a SYTYCD trifecta of perfection.

CASTLE Stars Jon Huertas and Seamus Dever Talk Friendship and Romance (With Others!)

Note to all reporters covering television: be careful around those CASTLE boys.

When I chatted with series star Nathan Fillion earlier this year, he unexpectedly turned the flip camera around on me.

It was amazingly, fantastically horrible/awesome.

Then, when I chatted with Jon Huertas (Esposito) and Seamus Dever (Ryan) at Comic-Con, both actors had CNN flip cameras to document their Con experience. Guess who ended up in front of the cam again?

Um, in defense of my appearance, it was day 4 of Comic-Con. At that point, I was pretty much a part of the walking dead.

So yes, Huertas and Dever taped me — doing my best impression of a zombie — for about a minute of our interview.

Good thing they’re adorable.

Check out the video to get their take on their characters’ (platonic) relationship, why they’re going to be solving more cases on their own and if an Esposito/Lanie relationship may already be happening right under our noses…

WHITE COLLAR: By the Book

August 4, 2010 by

Mozzie has put a lot of effort into creating his mysterious persona, but this week’s episode threw him in the middle of the action. And in the process, we learned a little bit about our favorite “little guy.”

The Case of the Week

After some banter about his orange ascot, Mozzie left Neal and headed to his favorite diner, where he’s apparently developed a crush on his waitress, Gina. They talk cute about books and Gina recites Mozzie’s regular order, but the flirting ends suddenly when a couple of unsavory characters walk into the diner.

Gina ask Moz if he truly has friends in the FBI, leaves a few cryptic clues and then leaves. It turns out that’s all it takes for Mozzie to darken the doors of a federal building.

 • Neal: Why are you in a federal building, dressed like Truman Capote?

Though Mozzie has to remind him that he never asks for favors, Neal agrees to help his friend quickly. They use Peter’s research team to track down Gina’s address, because though Mozzie has developed an entire file on her, he draws the line at finding her unlisted address.

SMALLVILLE’s Justin Hartley on Oliver’s Mission to Find Chloe

August 4, 2010 by

SMALLVILLE season 10 is going to look a little different than years past.

Original series star Allison Mack (Chloe) will have a reduced role in this final run, but she will still be around.

And since we’ve heard from so many SMALLVILLE fans who fell in love with the Chloe-Oliver pairing, we went to Justin Hartley (Oliver) to get his take on their TV relationship.

“You know, it’s going to be great because [Chloe]’s there and then she’s gone and then she’s back again,” he says. “She’s going to be mixed up throughout the season.”

But will Oliver be getting into trouble while she is gone?

“Her absence is in fact the thing that troubles him,” Hartley says. “And who took her.”

At that point in our interview, Hartley took the flip camera and pointed it in the direction of Cassidy Freeman (Tess).

Hmmm…

“It’s one of those things where he’s on this quest to try and figure out who took his girlfriend, this woman that he loves,” he explains. “He’ll figure it out. That’s his thing, right?”

But will he be working alone?

And what does he want to see happen for Oliver by the time SMALLVILLE ends?

Check it out…

Make sure to check back later this week for more SMALLVILLE interviews!

DEXTER Actress Joins VAMPIRE DIARIES

August 4, 2010 by
Filed under The Vampire Diaries, TV News

Courtney Ford — best known to TV geeks like you and me as John Lithgow’s misguided daughter who played her boyfriend Joey Quinn (Desmond Harrington) in the hopes of gaining her serial killer pops’ approval on DEXTER — is joining THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.

Warner Brothers confirms that Ford — who, incidentally, is married to SUPERMAN RETURNS star Brandon Routh — has nabbed the role of Vanessa, a grad student at Duke who will help Damon, Elena and Alaric tear through Isobel’s old research, as EW.com first reported.

TVD executive producer Kevin Williamson told EW’s Michael Ausiello that Vanessa may be harboring a secret or two, hinting that the role could expand into a very meaty (bloody and rare) part, should it play out properly.

So, thoughts?

You into it?

A fan of Ford’s?

WAREHOUSE 13: 13.1

August 4, 2010 by
Filed under #1 featured, Warehouse 13

Hey Warehouse 13 fans! Two random thoughts to start off this discussion.

(1) D you think it might be possible to lock Justin Bieber in the warehouse for a few decades? Not to harm him or anything; just preserve him for, um, OTHER generations to appreciate. We’ve had enough of him…really

(2) Wasn’t this a great episode? During the opening credits, I realized that we were about to finally get a quality warehouse-centered storyline, something that I’ve really missed.

Before we get going, are any of you EUREKA fans? I’ve been meaning to check that series out, so I’m interested in hearing from the Give Me My Remote faithful on whether it’s worth my time. I’m sure you were excited to see Douglas Fargo (Neil Grayston) from Eureka.

Doug is there to just update the warehouse’s outdated computer system, but once he disarms the original OS, everything in the warehouse shuts down. The new OS was supposed to immediately fire on all cylinders, but the only thing that did rise up and work were these red-eyed sensor things. It was fun to see the entire team work together on this case, beginning with Artie explaining how the old operating system was created by Hugo Miller (played by the extraordinary Rene Auberjonois), a former ornery agent who retired many years back. Pete and Myka convince Artie to let them drive the two hours it takes to find him and try to bring him back.

THE BACHELORETTE WTF Moment of the Week: Final Rose Edition

August 3, 2010 by
Filed under #1 featured, The Bachelorette

So, Ali decided to defy BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE history and put her runner up out of his misery early.

And, look, I respect that she didn’t want to drag her eliminated suitor(s) through any additional pain.

It’s sweet in theory, because let’s be honest, between the two contestants, if Ali was going to pick one of ’em, it seemed pretty obvious which guy was going to come out the winner.

But the buzz pre-finale seemed to be that, in the wake of Frank ditching her, she’d end up pulling a Kelly Taylor (AKA choosing herself, it’s a BEVERLY HILLS: 90210 reference).

Yeah, that didn’t happen.

GLEE: Lea Michele hits the Santa Monica Pier, talks Britney Spears, Charice

August 3, 2010 by
Filed under #1 featured, Glee, Glee Spoilers

FOX threw a press party at the Santa Monica Pier last night (Aug. 2) where GLEE star Lea Michele stopped to talk about what’s coming up for her character, Rachel Berry, in season 2.

In addition to teasing that she’ll be singing what she calls one of Britney Spears’ “iconic” songs, she gave us her thoughts on her Rachel’s new nemesis, which will be played by the Oprah Winfrey-discovered songstress, Charice.

“She and I filmed a hilarious scene the other day and she is the teeniest, most wee person I have ever seen in my life and she is so darling and she’s so sweet,” said Michele. “She has a gorgeous voice.”

Michele warns, however, that calling Charice’s GLEE character a “rival” for Rachel isn’t the most accurate description: “I mean, she is going to be a rival in a sense, but I don’t think [executive producer Ryan Murphy] would do anything as [cliche as that]. You know, knowing Ryan, he’ll probably make us become best friends or something.”

Truth be told, though, a catfight is not out of the question.

See for yourself…

Thoughts?

FX Renews LOUIE, Picks Up Pilot from RENO 911 Creators

Comments Off on FX Renews LOUIE, Picks Up Pilot from RENO 911 Creators

FX chief John Landgraf announced the renewal of comedian Louis CK’s sitcom, LOUIE, at the Television Critics Press Tour this morning (Aug. 3).

The comedy has been picked up for 13 episodes, which will begin airing in summer 2011.

Landgraf mentioned its strong DVR numbers as a major factor in the network’s decision to give it a second season.

RENO 911 creators Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon are also back in business at FX with a greenlight for their comedy pilot, USS ALABAMA, which we’re told will be similar in tone to RENO.

Ali wasn’t the only one shedding tears during tonight’s finale of THE BACHELORETTE. For the first time since Trista Rehn was the woman looking for love, I invested my time in this series. And for it to end the way it did, was a mixture of joy and sadness.

So who did Ali choose? Was it Chris? Robert? Neither? Find out after the break.
