I will probably be one of the very few who got misty when Dell died. Also when the Mercy West guy (can’t remember his name for the life of me) died in the hallway with Bailey by his side.
My favorite tearjerker moment for, Grey’s is when Meredith told Mr. Clark to shoot her in the 6th season finale.
I’m going with when Kyle Chandler’s character turned into the red mist. Broke my heart.
Grey’s – when they realized the guy hit by the bus was George. That was devastating. And then he got in the elevator in his army uniform and Izzy was there in her prom dress. Killed me.
I would have to say the the saddest moment for me in Private Practice was in the episode “The Hard Part” after Addison fought so hard to save Kara and her baby and in the end Kara dies. Addison’s reaction is so heartbreaking and it leads to a beautiful scene between Sam and Addison.
There are WAY too many to choose from! Both series have made me cry on multiple occasions… I’ll go with Erica Hahn’s monologue about finally being able to see/realize that she was a lesbian. It’s even more poignant to me in hindsight because the character was written off so quickly afterward, which was ridiculous.
Besides the ENTIRETY of the past finale, I would have to say when Mer realizes that it’s George in the hospital bed, and she just starts screaming. Gives me chills. Or when Denny dies, and poor Iz just lays on the bed with him. 🙁
I loved the episode with Tim Daly and Joel Gray. That was by far the most emotional episode of PPP for me. As far as Greys goes… Nothing can really top the season finale of last year. Wonderful performances from every castmember.
The saddest part of Grey’s Anatomy was when the writers decided to put George and Izzy together, signaling the beginning of the end of two previously wonderful characters. I miss George! Izzy used to be fun! Sigh.
Agreed on the last season finale of Grey’s – that was 2 hours of tension & tears for me!
Oh man…. those two shows have a great way of creating tearjerkers. If I have to pick one…
I think I’d say that the episode when Meredith’s mom dies juxtaposed against the ferry accident and Meredith drowning. Such a sad moment for such a rough relationship. <3 these shows!
Since Cristina is my favorite character my favorite tear jerking scene had to be the finale of season 3. Cristina crying while she insisted Meredith take off her wedding dress was an amazing moment.
Would love to win the Grey’s set–no so much a tearjerker but that 2-hour finale was a heart-stopper!
The biggest tearjerker? DENNY DUQUETTE, friends. Holy moly, I can’t even think about it without getting sad.
When Meredith’s father slaps her after his wife dies
Definately when they realized that is was George that got hit by the bus! My heart stopped. And then the scene with George and Izzy in the elevator together… priceless!
Private Practice episode The Hard Part, when Sam and Addison are out hiking and find the couple in trouble, a little drawn out but after Addison delivers the baby and the mom dies. I truly thought it would be the Dad, Tear-shocker!
Wow,,cant really think of one..I have cried so many times. I was always predisposed to George’s stories–when his father died and when he was found.
I think the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy for last season had the most tear-jerking moments for me. Bailey struggling to save her intern, Meredith losing the baby, Alex calling out for Izzie. I cried more in that two hours then I did when George died. His was an OH MY GOD! moment but last season’s season finale really pulled at the heartstrings.
I think one of the many misty moments from Grey’s Anatomy would have to be the season 6 finale, not only was i not able to breathe but also when Meredith was operating on Owen and was having a miscarriage I found that heart breaking.
The biggest tear jerker for me was definitely the scene where Betsy started crying and hitting Pete when he told her that Dell died, In Private Practice. Totally heart breaking. ):
The biggest tearjerker from all of Grey’s I think was when Denny dies and Izzie is all dolled up in her prom dress and so devastated to find him dead just hours after he proposed….
Biggest tearjerker from Season 6 Grey’s was Little Grey telling Alex that she loved him, and him calling out to Izzie, and Little Grey saying, “I’m here, I came back.”
The biggest tearjerker moment for me was during the season two finale of Grey’s when Meredith and Derek put Doc down. I had my two dogs laying next to me, and it was one of the saddest things I have ever watched.
THE BIGGEST TEAR JERKER IS WHEN YANG IS TRYING TO SAVE SHEPHERD AND GREY IS TRYING TO SAVE OWEN.. GREY HAS A MISCARRIEAGE AND JUST KEEPS WORKING.. YOU KNOW THAT KILLED HER BY THE LOOK IN HER EYES..
I sobbed when George’s dad died. The worst thing about George dying was not getting any more episodes with the O’Malleys, who were always so great when they were brought in. O’Malley!!!
The most incredibly sad moment was when George died…OH MY I cried and cried.
I’m really quite a fan of the MerDer post-it note wedding. But the best tear-jerking episode was the Season 3 premiere, after Denny died. That was some quality GA. And some swoon-worthy McDreamy.
My biggest tear jerker in Season 6 is obviously at the end when Derek gets shot that was just too sad! I also cried a lot when Meredith told Mr.Clarke to shoot her & explained why & also when Mer thought Derek was dead so she started to cry on the floor. I also cried later on when Meredith was having the mis carriage, that look on her face was just a real tear jerker it made me crry a lot how she had to go through all that in one day!
The tearjerker for me… when Denny died in the Grey’s season 2 finale and Izzie finds him and lays down next to him. :'(
My favorite tearjerker moment was when Denny wouldn’t agree to take the heart from that other guy, and Katherine Heigl gave her great “But What About Me” speech. SUCH great acting in that scene, especially the line “I’ll hate you for making me love you.” That alone was Emmy-worthy.
Now I must go watch this again…
I’m sure it’s cliched.. but I can’t hold back the tears in the 2nd season “As We Know It” when Meredith has the bomb and imagines Derek.. the music just heightens the emotion.. This is one of those shows I just don’t miss!!
