GLEE: ‘Brittany/Britney’ – The Best Episode of GLEE Ever?
September 28, 2010 by Kath Skerry

You can disagree and say that Tuesday night’s Britney Spears-themed episode of GLEE wasn’t the best hour of the series thus far, but you’d be wrong. And you’d have to live with the knowledge that you are wrong for the rest of your life.
“Brittany/Britney” was 44 minutes of hilarious dialogue, fun songs, fierce dancing and laugh out loud brilliance!
If Heather Morris wasn’t given the spotlight tonight, she certainly would have stolen it. Morris sparkled (and I’m not just talking about that hot see-thru get up she wore during ‘Slave 4 U’) as she embodied the sexiness and energy of Ms. Spears. I think she had us all wondering why tonight was the first time she was given the chance to show us the true extent of her talent. She was fantastic!
I was worried that an episode that focused so much on Brittany would be overkill and would take away from that special something she brings to each hour with her hilarious interjections. But my worries were for naught. She had more lines than ever and each one was more zingy than the last!
In fact, I think this episode was by far the most quotable episode of GLEE to date. I wanted to jot down my favorites to share with you, but it seemed I was pausing a few times in every scene to capture the notable quotables.
Before I share Tuesday night’s best lines, there are probably a few more things we should cover. So while I’m busy getting that blue stuff off my teeth, here are some other thoughts to ponder… Read more
BONES Welcomes Back NIKITA’s Tiffany Hines

On last week’s BONES season premiere, Cam’s job was in jeopardy, but now she has something to look forward to: her adopted daughter, Michelle, will be back on-screen later this season.
Tiffany Hines, who plays Michelle — and who is currently starring on The CW’s NIKITA — has tweeted about her return to BONES, and Fox has confirmed to Give Me My Remote that she is filming scenes for the seventh episode of the season this week.
Hines last appeared on the series in April’s “The Rocker in the Rinse Cycle,” when Cam went on a quest to find Michelle an OB-GYN. So what brings her back to the show this time?

LONE STAR is the first show of the 2010 fall season to be canceled.
Despite dismal ratings in its first week on the air, Fox gave LONE STAR a second shot this Monday, but to no avail, pulling just 3.2 million viewers in.
LIE TO ME will fill its spot on the schedule for now.
Other new series in trouble at the moment? NBC’s OUTLAW (4.9 million), ABC’s MY GENERATION (5.2 million) and THE WHOLE TRUTH (4.9 million).
Any thoughts?

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER’s Barney Stinson – I’ll Stand By You!
September 28, 2010 by Kath Skerry
Filed under How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris
Last night’s “Cleaning House” episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER once again had the gang back at Barney’s mom’s place. Frances Conroy reprised her role as Loretta and Wayne Brady was back as Barney’s brother, James.
At the core of the episode was the realization that Barney’s life had been built around a series of lies perpetrated by his mother in order to protect her son’s fragile feelings.
Barney wasn’t asked to leave the basketball team because he was too good. No one showed at his 8th birthday because little Barney didn’t have any friends, not because the Postmaster General lost all the invitations. And the biggest lie of them all – Bob Barker isn’t really Barney’s dad (gasp!).
Barney’s ego and his childlike naivete wouldn’t allow him to see the truth behind the tales he’s been told. Or perhaps he’s known all along that his mother was protecting him, but it was easier to buy into the lies than risk being exposed as anything short of awesome.

It’s Britney, bitch!
Sorry, but I just can’t contain my excitement for tonight’s Britney Spears inspired episode of GLEE. I love me some Britney and some Brittany so I’m expecting big things.
I know, I know, GLEE isn’t the only show on tonight. We’ve got new shows, returning favorites, and did I mention Britney?
Check out some of the highlights from tonight’s TV lineup.
No Ordinary Family | 8pm on ABC | Series Premiere
“Pilot”
In the premiere of this sci-fi drama about a family that develops superpowers after a plane crash in the Amazon, patriarch Jim (Michael Chiklis) discovers he has immense strength, and his wife, Stephanie (Julie Benz), is blessed with amazing speed. Meanwhile, their 16-year-old daughter, Daphne, turns telepathic, and their learning-disabled 14-year-old son, JJ, becomes a genius. [GMMR: Worth checking out. Personally I thought the pilot channeled HEROES more than I would have liked, but the cast is stellar and I think it has potential. Looking forward to seeing the episode next week to see how it all shakes out.]
Glee | 8pm on Fox
“Britney/Brittany”
Will doesn’t want the kids to do a Britney Spears routine. He’s also a bit jealous of Emma’s new dentist boyfriend (John Stamos). Spears appears as herself. [GMMR: Heather Morris is one of the only series regular’s that has never sung on the show…until tonight. And damn does she sound and look good. Check out a sneak peek at one of her big musical numbers tonight. And SYTYCD fans – keep an eye out for Mark Kanemura dancing alongside Brit. Bonus!]
The Biggest Loser | 8pm on NBC
“The First Challenge”
Two players who didn’t make the cut during the season opener are picked by Bob and Jillian to join the game. Later, the group have their first workout and meet with Dr. Huizenga for health assessments; a surprise early weigh-in puts more players than usual at risk of elimination; and the contestants race each other for the first challenge.
HOUSE: Selfish

Seven days removed from a Huddy-centric season premiere, HOUSE returned to its traditional formula this week. Writer/producer Eli Attie was assigned the difficult task of weaving the new romance between House and Cuddy into the show’s patient of the week template. As the scribe responsible for writing Allison Cameron’s departure from Princeton Plainsboro, as well as the fantastic “Lockdown” episode, Attie was a wise choice to calm viewers’ fears that their favorite drama is turning into a soap opera.
Let’s start with the obvious. House and Cuddy’s coupling is going to be a centerpiece of this season. There is no breakup in sight, and the creative team is clearly exploring their relationship from every angle, personal and professional. If you plan to stop watching the show as a result, however, this episode demonstrated exactly what you would be missing. With a heartbreaking patient story, a much needed infusion of humor, and a return to relevance for Dr. Taub, “Selfish” was the prototype for integrating new stories with old favorites.

CHUCK: ‘Chuck vs. The Suitcase’
September 28, 2010 by Kath Skerry
Filed under #1 featured, Chuck, Chuck Recaps
Two super hot chicks fighting it out on a runway in Milan. Captain Awesome in nothing by spandex. Lester in a hoodie. Who says sex doesn’t sell?
Just one week after vowing to come together in order to save Chuck’s mom, Team Bartowski seemed to forget all about her. But I suppose with an assassin posing as a supermodel on the loose — who was wielding GPS-guided bullets — they had other things to worry about.
“Chuck vs. the Suitcase” really delivered on the laughs and the romance tonight with plenty of action thrown in for good measure.
Although Zac Levi usually does the heavy lifting when it comes to the laughs, Yvonne Strahovski once again showed her comedic strength (and no that’s not a euphemism for what she showed us in the closet) in this episode. From Sarah’s obvious jealousy over Sofia catching Chuck’s eye, to her bitchy “Put some clothes on,” Yvonne really brought out the big guns (nope, still not a euphemism).
Although I’m sure it’s not the best for national security, it was nice to see Sarah loosen up a little bit and let her relationship issues with Chuck seep into the mission. We all know that Chuck isn’t really the best when it comes to keeping his personal life separate from his life as a spy, but Sarah has always been adept at compartmentalizing the two distinct parts of her life. Chuck has changed her. He’s made her more of a fully realized woman, and even the best spies can’t always keep their feelings truly at bay. I know that from personal experience: I have many friends that are spies. Don’t tell anyone, OK?
