Fox’s Animation Domination returns tonight, and the evening kicks off with the 22nd season premiere of the THE SIMPSONS.
What’s the best way to celebrate our 22nd year in Springfield? By having some of the GLEE cast guest star in tonight’s episode and sing a little song. Sounds fun, right?

Yo, if you’re looking for a laugh (or 20) to end your weekend, please don’t forget to DVR the second season premieres of HBO’s EASTBOUND AND DOWN and BORED TO DEATH tonight.
If you watched season 1 of either, I don’t have to explain why they’re worthy of your time. Any Kenny Powers fan is clearly couch jumping with excitement today. But if you’re not yet familiar with the shows, take a look at the clips below, which will hopefully pique your interest and have you tuning in this evening.
The first is simply the season 2 trailer for EASTBOUND & DOWN, which follows the aforementioned Powers — a burned-out major league ballplayer with a big ass ego, who returned to his hometown last year and ended up teaching phys ed at his old middle school. This year, he’s apparently looking to make a comeback…
The second is a quick BORED TO DEATH clip from season 2, starring Ted Danson and Jason Schwartzman…
The premise of BORED TO DEATH is a bit more difficult to describe, so I’ll just let the cast — which also includes the amazing Zach Galifianakis (of THE HANGOVER fame) — do it…
Will you watch tonight?
The second season premiere of BORED TO DEATH starts at 10 p.m. on HBO, followed by the second season premiere of EASTBOUND & DOWN at 10:30 p.m.
Be there.

Season 5 opens with Dexter dealing with the aftermath of Rita’s murder and making a decision that will impact many of those in his circle of friends, relatives and coworkers. Meanwhile, Quinn concludes that Rita’s death doesn’t match Trinity’s MO, and steps up to help Debra in a time of trouble.

THE SOUP’s Joel McHale on Understanding ‘That’s What She Said’

Joel McHale, BIG BROTHER and my very favorite phrase ‘ That’s what she said’ – three great things that go great together (that’s what she said).
Those of us who watched BIG BROTHER this summer might have already seen this hilarious clip, in which houseguest Lane voiced his frustration over the classic ‘TWSS’ joke. Seems the people at THE SOUP loved this moment just as much as we did.
SMALLVILLE Season Premiere: ‘Lazarus’

Hey SMALLVILLE fans – what a season opener! I can’t say I was disappointed. The whole show just flowed together, touching on everything that left us hanging at the end of season 9 while raising a whole new set of questions.
I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about Clark and Lois. And Oliver and Chloe. Or the shocking discovery of Alexander and Tess. Boy do we have a lot to talk about!
Lois and Clark’s silent and mutual understanding of one another in this episode was great, similar to that of Superman and Lois in the original story. I loved the way Lois let Clark do what every hero has to do.
The letter at the end was a blow until of course until Jonathan Kent made an appearance! Yes, Lois is Clark’s other half and the most important person in his life now, but seeing Jonathan Kent and Clark back on the farm like the good old days was like Christmas for me. Tell me you weren’t dying for more?! That was the best!
SUPERNATURAL Season 6 Premiere: ‘Exile on Main Street
September 25, 2010 by Nicole
Filed under #1 featured, Posts by Nicole, Supernatural
It’s been a long summer without a Winchester fix, and I’ve thought more about this show than someone who doesn’t actually work for the show probably should.
After Kripke’s initial five year story arch came to a (very emotional) close, with Sam sacrificing himself to drag Lucifer back to hell and stop the Apocalypse – I kept thinking, where would they go from there?
When we last saw the brothers, Dean had settled into the simple life with Lisa and Ben, and Sam was looking in on Dean’s new life from the street outside. Was it really Sam? Was he possessed? How did he get back? These are the things I’ve been thinking about since May, and I know you have too.
We still don’t have a lot of answers, but so far, it seems that it really is Sam, back from hell. But it’s not the Sam we tearfully said goodbye to last spring; he’s cold, emotionless and seemingly indifferent. When he reunited with Dean after a year, Dean was in a tailspin and Sam acted like he had just returned from a run to Costco. I know that he has the benefit of being in the know, but you’d think finally being able to talk to his brother after a year would stir a little something in him.
Summer Glau’s ‘Firefly’ Reunion on CHUCK
September 24, 2010 by Kath Skerry
Whednonites have hit geek paydirt!
FIREFLY’s River Tam and Jayne Cobb will be reunited on the small screen when Summer Glau guests later this season on CHUCK.
Glau will play Greta, the name given to rotating undercover CIA operatives working at the Buy More. She’ll appear in the show’s eight episode.
We don’t know much about the circumstances Glau’s Greta will find herself in, but CHUCK Executive Producer Chris Fedak told GIVE ME MY REMOTE exclusively that “[Glau’s] stint as a Greta will be a bumpy one and, for us Firefly fans, she’ll definitely cross paths with one John Casey.”
That’s what we wanted to hear!
Glau and CHUCK star Adam Baldwin co-starred on the short-lived, but much loved, Joss Whedon series FIREFLY. The two later paired up on the big screen in SERENITY, the film continuation of the series.
GMMR had our first hint of Glau joining the show when we sat down with Fedak in his Warner Bros offices a few weeks ago. When we asked about his guest star wish list for this season he said, “Anyone from the comedy world or the action/genre world. The sci-fi people…the Summer Glaus of the world. That’s our show, it’s a mash up of geek and comedy.”
Who knew just a few weeks later, we’d be confirming the news.
Just one more bit of trivia for you. Summer Glau’s most recent TV role was that of Cameron in Fox’s TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. The show was a spin-off of the “Terminator” movie series. And we all know who originated the role of Sarah Connor in the film series, right? That would be Linda Hamilton, the same actress who plays Mary Bartowski, Chuck’s mom on this season of CHUCK.
What a fantastic little geeky world we all live in.

LOST Star Jorge Garcia to Guest on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and We’ve Got Exclusive Details

LOST star Jorge Garcia — better known to you and me as Hugo “Hurley” Reyes — is hitting HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
CBS confirms that Garcia will play a bro with unbelievably bad timing in a November episode of the comedy series and GIVE ME MY REMOTE has exclusive new details on his character, whom they’re calling Blitz.
Blitz is Ted, Marshall and Lily’s friend from college who has the uncanny ability to leave a room right before things finally get interesting. Blitz has been cursed with this regrettable phenomenon for over twelve years. When Ted goes to sleep early on the night before Thanksgiving and misses the party of a lifetime — a party that even Blitz attended — he is terrified, wondering if he is in now “the Blitz”!
How excited are you to see our boy Hurley hanging with the HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER crew?
Let’s discuss in the comments section…

But if you’re like me, you may have a few nagging questions after viewing the episode.
Thankfully, I had the opportunity to chat with series creator Hart Hanson and get his take on what went down during the opener, plus his thoughts on the series going past season 6 and that whole Hannah thing…
SMALLVILLE Season 10 Kicks Off Tonight
September 24, 2010 by Sarah Luoma
SMALLVILLE is back tonight, you guys, and super fan — and GMMR contributor — Sarah L. has been kind enough to whet our Clark Kent appetites with a tease of what’s on tap. Please enjoy…
Are you ready for SMALLVILLE season 10?! I know I am. While we all have been patiently awaiting its return, we got tons of news this summer — especially regarding guest appearances galore and the premise for this final year — which makes me even more excited!
Says The CW, “Season ten promises the classic reuniting of the timeless romance between Clark and Lois, and brings Clark face-to-face with his destiny as he overcomes his final trials and forges the iconic identity that will be known for all time.”
Superman!!
Before we break into the rest of what’s to come, I can’t help but rewind back to the sad news we all received at the end of season 9: Chloe (Allison Mack) leaving Smallville as a regular resident!! Talk about unexpected, not to mention seriously disappointing. Recently debuting in the comic books for the first time is a bit of a consolation, but I’m still sad that Mack will only be a guest star, popping in now and then this year.

THE OFFICE Season Premiere: ‘Nepotism’

When I was little, my mom used to tell me that if I ever lost something, I should go back to where I started and retrace my steps in the hopes that I’d find what I was looking for along the way. Perhaps my mom had the same talk with the writers of THE OFFICE. If so, thanks Mom!
After what was a shaky sixth season, THE OFFICE returned last night with a fantastic half hour. I’m sure it’s kind of lazy to say that the episode felt like the good ol’ days of THE OFFICE, but in the most important ways, it did.
