Rainy days and Mondays always get me down…unless there is a bunch of really good TV on the tube. Thankfully, it’s one of those Mondays.  New episodes of all of your favorites (except of course for LONE STAR…too soon?) are back and joining the Monday line-up are the Real Housewives of Atlanta.  Welcome, ladies.

I know what my schedule looks like…do you? What are you watching tonight? Let us know in the comments below.

Chuck | 8pm on NBC
“Chuck Versus the Cubic Z”
Villainous nemeses Hugo Panzer (“Stone Cold” Steve Austin) and Heather Chandler (Nicole Richie) return to haunt (and hunt) Chuck and Sarah. The conniving Chandler, however, stirs up Chuck’s curiosity when she claims she has information about his mother. Meanwhile, Morgan preps the store for an all-important video-game release. Stacy Keibler also guest stars. [GMMR: Have you entered our CHUCK vs. G.R.E.T.A. contest? Your fellow CHUCK fans have shared some amazing entries so far.  Is yours better?]

How I Met Your Mother | 8pm on CBS

90210 | 8pm on The CW
“The Bachelors”
Silver enlists Navid, Dixon, Liam and Teddy to appear in a bachelor auction for charity; Annie and Adrianna discover the truth about Naomi and Mr. Cannon; Sasha returns with life-changing news. Read more

MY GENERATION Canceled

Filed under My Generation, TV News

On the heels of FOX axing LONE STAR after just two airings, ABC has made MY GENERATION the second victim of the 2010 fall season.

No surprise really, given the ratings, but the jam packed Thursday time slot which MY GENERATION was occupying pretty much ensured that it would tank.

Too bad, because the concept was pretty cool. Could’ve grown into a great series.

Sad stuff for the actors, writer-producers and crew.

Did any of you even see the show?

SUPERNATURAL: ‘Two and a Half Men’

After last week’s good but very disconcerting episode, I’ve spent far too much time trying to figure out what is going on with Sam, with the Campbells and with Domestic Dean. After last night’s episode, I’m no closer to a solid theory than I was a week ago, but on the plus side, there was a (partial) return to the old Sam and Dean dynamic that was clearly lacking in the season premiere.

As new showrunner Sera Gamble has discussed in interviews, season six is seeing a return to monster of the week type stories, but this year we’ll be seeing the origins of a lot of the monsters we’ve come to know and love. Last night this was true for an old favorite, the shapeshifter. It seems the Alpha Shifter (the first one ever), has been spending his time impregnating unsuspecting women and then returning when the babies reach the age of six months to claim them, leaving a trail of gruesomely murdered parents in its wake. It’s unclear what the shifter is collecting babies for (perhaps it’s trying to get it’s own show on TLC?), but this is just how shifters spawn.

SMALLVILLE: Shield

This week’s SMALLVILLE has me on a love/hate rollercoaster! While I wasn’t so thrilled with a few turn of events in “Shield”, there was no way I would ever turn it off because I was afraid I could miss something! It felt like the first day of school, exciting yet uncomfortably new. Now that the season premiere is over and we’re settling into the storyline for the season I couldn’t help but notice the changes among the cast, and how a few of the character’s roles that have changed…just a bit.

My issue, or should I say issues, with the second episode of the season? Chloe, Tess, Dead Shot, and tonight’s guest star Keri Lynn Pratt, who you may remember from the former WB show Jack and Bobby. Don’t get me wrong – it’s the final season and with Clark set to become Superman, change is inevitable, but with Chloe missing the show feels off. Instead of mulling over the web with Chloe, Clark is relying on the help of Tess, with hesitation I admit.

It was strange and eerie when Clark set up Cat Grant in the apartment above the Talon. But the show must go on and I’m sure with all the action about to hit Smallville, this episode just had to be one that spent time building the story up for the final season.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES Takes a Stroll Down ‘Memory Lane’

Alright, I’ve learned my lesson – I will never go out on a Thursday night again.  Watching THE VAMPIRE DIARIES at 5 a.m. is not ideal. It’s just too early in the morning to properly enjoy Damon’s sarcasm and wit (but not too early to appreciate those dreamy eyes.)

This week Katherine was back and as you might expect, she’s being a huge pain in the ass.  After making some not too subtle advances on Stefan, he decided enough is enough and chained the girl in the basement in an attempt to find out her true motivations for returning to Mystic Falls.  Something tells me Katherine might have been into it…just a bit.

In a series of flashbacks, it was revealed that Katherine assisted George Lockwood in orchestrating the vampire burning – the very massacre that she was thought to be a victim of. In exchange for Kat’s help and her word that she would take his werewolf secret to the grave, George helped Katherine escape the night of the fire. Not knowing she already had a way out, both Damon and Stefan were killed and vampified trying to save the woman they love.  Men…such (blood)suckers.

GREY’S ANATOMY: ‘Shock to The System’

Two episodes into the new season of GREY’S ANATOMY, and things are thankfully starting to calm down a bit.  Don’t get me wrong – it’s not that I didn’t enjoy the intensity of last week’s episode (not to mention last season’s finale).  GREY’s has always done very well with intense storylines, and some of the series’ finest episodes have been its most suspenseful (bomb in a man’s chest, anyone?), but after all the emotion of the shooting and its aftermath, it was comforting to see them strike a lighter tone this week.  It felt like good old classic GA, complete with witty banter and angsty patients.

FRINGE: Peter and Olivia Take a Step Forward, Walter Gets More Than He Bargained For

October 1, 2010 by
Filed under #1 featured, Fringe, Fringe Recap

Things on FRINGE are changing.

Peter and the fake “Olivia” are moving forward in a relationship that he spent two years forming with the real Olivia. Walter found out what the recently deceased William Bell left him in his will. And I can’t foresee any way in which either of those storylines wouldn’t have long-lasting consequences.
