SMALLVILLE: Luthor - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

SMALLVILLE: Luthor

Jumping right back into the swing of things – what did you think of “Luthor”? The name says it all, doesn’t it? And what a way to bring back the dead. I love Lionel Luthor and of course his evil offspring Lex, and now Tess. What a surprising turn of events. I never would have pegged Tess as an heir of the Luthor family tree.

Neither did Clark, who spent most of the episode bashing her newly discovered family name. “Born dangerous, with poisonous blood,” Clark believes in second chances, just not when it comes to his evil arch nemesis. And the thought of becoming one himself? We found it in this episode what Clark’s life would have been if he was discovered by Lionel Luthor in that corn field instead of the Kent’s.

From Superman to Ultra man in minutes, I have to say Clark’s parallel reality as Clark Luthor didn’t look good. Tess and Clark together? Oliver and Lois soul mates? Back to the Tess and Clark for a sec! Was it eerie and disgusting when Clark called Tess his sister right after they shared a kiss?! What a stomach turner. It makes you appreciate Lois even more!

Getting past that – I have to say Tom Welling did a great job jumping from good Clark to bad Luthor in this episode, which is now one of my favorites so far of season 10. Better than watching Superman all hopped up on red kryptonite, Clark’s new identity in this alternate universe, thanks to the mirror box, was pretty entertaining. One of my favorite parts was watching him jump through the ceiling of watchtower, and landing so gracefully before turning into a hostile screaming villian. He seemed scarier than Lex was back in the good old days of Smallville! Cassidy Freeman was also on her game in this episode!

Or how about Clark’s confession to an unaware Lois on the rooftop that he can’t live in a world where she doesn’t love him. Oliver as Clark’s enemy was interesting, as well the Earth 2 Lois Lane reference towards the end of the episode!

All in all things went back to normal for our Smallville residents, or at least that’s what they think for now. After most of the mess was cleaned up, Lois made her usual ER visit, Clark destroyed the mirror box, with watchtower in state of disarray – guess whose still out of the bos so to speak and walking the streets of Metropolis? Is he really sticking around! What a clever little way for the show runners to bring back the Luthor storyline. I love John Glover – he’s the perfect dose of evil. What a surprising ending. Who needs Michael Rosenbaum? I’m kidding of course!

What did you think of the latest Smallville episode? Is John Glover here to stay? When will Alexander pop back up? Until next week Smallville peeps!
