Comments Off on HUMAN TARGET: Chi McBride Previews Winston’s Season Premiere Trouble

When HUMAN TARGET ended last season, Chi McBride’s character Winston had been kidnapped and was in a bit of a perilous situation. And as McBride tells Give Me My Remote in our video chat below, he’s been replaced by Sinbad this season.

Of course he’s kidding about that, but there are some changes on tap. In addition to a new showrunner, there are a few new cast members, which is something McBride is really excited about.

Check out what he has to say regarding HUMAN TARGET season 2. But a quick warning before you view the video — McBride’s language is a bit NSFW…

HUMAN TARGET: Meet the New Kids, Indira Varma and Janet Montgomery

Filed under #1 featured, Human Target

HUMAN TARGET is finally back this Wednesday and things are going to be a bit different.

In addition to actresses Indira Varma and Janet Montgomery joining the cast, new showrunner Matt Miller has told Give Me My Remote that the series won’t just be about far-out adventures anymore — this year, the characters will dive into emotionally explosive areas.

And Varma and Montgomery’s onscreen personas will definitely play a part in that. Varma’s Ilsa Pucci is a billionaire with a dead husband who offers to fund the team. Montgomery’s Ames is a thief with a past tied to Winston.

Watch the videos below to learn more about these characters and what they’ll be up to this season…

Tuesday night… As I’ve mentioned before, the unsung hero of solid TV evenings.

A quick rundown of what’s on tap…

No Ordinary Family | 8pm on ABC
“No Ordinary Mobster”
Jim’s secret identity is at risk when he tries to take down a dangerous mobster who has eluded George for years; Stephanie continues to look into Dr. Volson’s previous research of a mysterious plant – against Dr. King’s wishes; Daphne convinces a reluctant JJ to use his powers to help her become more knowledgeable in order to impress a boy; and JJ goes to extreme measures to help Katie get a date.

Glee | 8pm on Fox
“The Substitute”
After Mr. Schuester gets sick, a substitute teacher (Gwyneth Paltrow) takes over the Glee Club and becomes a new love interest as well as competition for Will. [GMMR: If you haven’t yet seen the little photo preview of tonight’s ep, click here!]

The Biggest Loser | 8pm on NBC
“1009”

The competition moves to singles, so contestants will compete on their own without partners or teammates from this point forward. The most recent elimination is still a big topic ofconversation, with trainer Bob Harper trying to determine why the vote went the way it did and one player still upset over the departure of a close friend. But the players all perk up with news from the trainers that they’re getting a special gift from loved ones – heartwarming videos from home that move everyone to tears. When one player doesn’t receive a video, the other contestants thoughtfully plan an uplifting surprise to try and make up for it. Then a pool challenge tests everyone’s balancing skills, and later, one player reaches a milestone at the weigh-in. Finally, one more contestant is eliminated, and heads home to an emotional reunion with loved ones.

THE BIG BANG THEORY Promotes Mayim Bialik

Filed under #1 featured, The Big Bang Theory, TV News

THE BIG BANG THEORY is getting some additional girl power.

Sources tell Give Me My Remote that Mayim Bialik has been upped to series regular status for this season.

However, TBBT fans shouldn’t fear that this move — or the recent promotion of Melissa Rauch to a similar contract — is going to change the show’s dynamic too much. As first reported by Deadline.com, these deals don’t call for the actresses to be in every single episode.

Are you excited to hear Mayim Bialik will be a bigger part of the show this season?

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER: Two Beavers Are Better Than One

November 16, 2010 by
Filed under #1 featured, HIMYM, How I Met Your Mother

We’ve learned a lot from HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER over the years.

But this latest lesson comes courtesy of the Canadian TV show, SPACE TEENS, starring one Robin Sparkles.

Yes, kids, it’s true, during HIMYM’s third installment of the Robin Sparkles series, which aired Monday evening, we got a couple golden knowledge nuggets, including the fact that two beavers are better than one. Also, Alan Thicke’s joystick is apparently a useful math tool.

Check it…

Oh, Dr. Seaver…

What would Maggie say?!

HOUSE: A Pox On Our House

November 16, 2010 by
Filed under #1 featured, House, House Recap

On the heels of the San Francisco Giants’ victory in the World Series, a new star has stepped up to the plate in Fox’s primetime lineup. Amber Tamblyn is batting 1.000 over her first two appearances on HOUSE. With Cameron & Thirteen absent from Princeton Plainsboro, a strong female voice was desperately needed in the Diagnostics department. Thankfully, Martha M. Masters has recalibrated the workplace dynamic for Dr. House, his team, and a roster of patients who have been habitually lied to for years!

Since the conclusion of the Survivor-style search for new team members in Season 4, House has found little reason to mentor anyone on his staff. Truth be told, the late Dr. Kutner was the only addition to House’s team who was emotionally connected to the boss. Kutner’s suicide, Foreman’s ill-fated attempts to take over in House’s absence, and Cameron’s departure last season deepened the void. Exceptional teachers require exceptional students, and the deepening trust between House & Masters is the best part of the show.

BONES vs. CASTLE: Who Did Their X-FILES Homage Better?

November 16, 2010 by
Filed under #1 featured, Bones, Castle

BONES and CASTLE often draw comparisons to each other.

Both shows have Whedon-alumni as leading men. Both pair a writer with a member of law enforcement (though on BONES, Brennan’s primary job is in forensic anthropology) to solve quirky crimes.

And yes, with tonight’s episode of CASTLE paying homage to THE X-FILES, both shows have honored the sci-fi series in the past calendar year. (BONES aired ‘The X in the File’ last January).

So, which show did it better?

CHUCK: ‘Chuck Versus the Fear of Death’

November 15, 2010 by

Despite lacking both in ‘cliff’ and ‘hanger’, this week’s hour of CHUCK did serve as the first installment of a two-part episode which leaves the audience wondering whether Chuck Bartowski will find a way out of a harrying situation before he is lobotomized or killed. I’m gonna stop you right here and serve up a big old SPOILER ALERT – Chuck makes it out of this situation just fine.  In case you were really concerned, the titular character is going to live.  I hope I didn’t ruin the suspense for you. I’m such a buzzkill sometimes.

Not sure “Chuck vs. the Fear of Death” will go down as one of my favorite episodes of the series, but parts of it were entertaining enough that I certainly wouldn’t count this ep as one of the worst.

BONES: Michaela Conlin on the Brennan-Angela Friendship and the Hannah Factor

One thing you can say for sure about BONES star Michaela Conlin? She is an excellent tease.

In part 2 of Give Me My Remote‘s interview with Conlin (you can read part one here), we chatted about the “complicated” Brennan point of view episode which is set to air soon, the Brennan-Angela friendship, how much Angela really knows about Booth and Brennan’s relationship, plus what she thinks of the Hannah-Brennan friendship. And it sounds like things are about to get intense…

CASTLE: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic and Tamala Jones Talk Lyle Lovett

Monday’s episode of CASTLE brings Castle and Beckett into the unexplained…with alien abductions?!

Yep, CASTLE is getting its X-FILES on tonight when an astrophysicist’s body is found. Castle jokes that she was killed in outer space — and the evidence supports him.

The hour gets additional science fiction cred from guest star Lance Henriksen (the former star of MILLENNIUM), who plays an alien abduction expert. And Lyle Lovett — yes, that Lyle Lovett — has the CASTLE stars gushing over his appearance on the show.
