BONES: Tamara Taylor and TJ Thyne Tease Season 6
September 23, 2010 by Marisa Roffman
As we previously hinted, when the BONES team reunites in tonight’s season premiere after months apart, it’s due in large part to Cam.
See, Cam has gotten herself into a little bit of trouble. Thankfully, she has a few friends who are willing to drop everything and help her out of a jam.
Check out the video below to hear Tamara Taylor (Cam) and TJ Thyne (Hodgins) tease what the team’s return means for Cam and what their characters have been up to. Plus, what scene is MIA from the premiere?! They’re talking…

We’ve all seen what amazing things Thyne can do with a camera, so we’re totally rooting for him to film those season premiere scenes that didn’t make the cut on his own.
What do you say?

Nerd Lessons Learned from THE BIG BANG THEORY Boys
September 23, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
Filed under #1 featured, The Big Bang Theory
THE BIG BANG THEORY begins its fourth season this Thursday, September 23rd and in honor of the occasion, GIVE ME MY REMOTE is looking back at some of the nerdiest things we’ve learned from the BBT boys over the last few years…
Positive Reinforcement is Superior to Punishment in Altering Behavior
When Penny and Leonard started dating, Sheldon became increasingly annoyed by Penny’s frequent presence in the apartment, because she interrupted his very scheduled life. But instead of voicing his complaints, he found that he could combat her unpredictable behavior — i.e. making French toast on oatmeal day — by employing the findings of famed researcher B.F. Skinner. Using positive reinforcement, Sheldon trained Penny to behave the way he wanted her to, rewarding her with a chocolate every time she did something he approved of. Leonard attempted to end Sheldon’s experiment on his girlfriend until he realized that he too could use the method to his benefit.
With a Healthy Ovum and a Person’s DNA, Cloning is Possible
When Sheldon got his hands on a napkin sullied by the mouth of “Star Trek”‘s Leonard Nimoy, the fantasy of possessing a Spock of his own became an actual possibility. He informed Penny, who gifted him with the napkin containing Nimoy’s genetic code, that a healthy ovum is all he now needed to clone his boyhood idol. Penny wasted no time in telling him that the napkin was all he was getting from her.
Rock Paper Scissors is an Inadequate Method of Selection
When Raj proposed a game of Rock Paper Scissors to decide who got to watch what they wanted on TV, Sheldon protested: “Ooh, I don’t think so. Anecdotal evidence suggests that in a game of Rock Paper Scissors, players familiar with each other will tie 75 to 80 percent of the time due to the limited number of outcomes.” He then introduced the boys — and The Big Bang Theory audience — to a better option: Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock.
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Ian Somerhalder on Damon’s Issues with Katherine, Elena, Caroline, Bonnie, Mason and More

Ian Somerhalder.
It was six years ago this week that LOST premiered and we met Oceanic survivor, Boone Carlyle. But just one season into THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and it’s hard to imagine Somerhalder as anyone other than Damon Salvatore.
The show is on fire right now — though, lucky for Somerhalder, Damon is not… thanks to Elena who came to his aid in last week’s episode.
Looking toward this Thursday and the season ahead, I spoke with Ian about what’s already transpired and what we can expect to come…
MODERN FAMILY Season Premiere – Never Let Go of the Funny
September 22, 2010 by Kath Skerry

“You know what? You can insult a lot of things about me. My hair. My voice. My balance board exercises. But don’t insult my selling. That crosses a line. What line? Oh, you don’t see it? That’s because I sold it.” – Phil Dunphy
MODERN FAMILY, the Emmy award winner for Best Comedy, returned tonight for its second season, and I’m ecstatic to report that the show didn’t lose any of the funny over the summer months.
The smart humor and biting humor that defined the first season was spot on tonight. The cast didn’t miss a beat in bringing the viewers back into the lives of this hilarious extended family.
Letting go. For some it’s easier than others. In the case of Gloria and Manny, don’t bank on it ever happening. But for other members of the family, memories were shared, lessons were learned and station wagons went over a cliff. All in the time it took to build a pretty princess castle.
SURVIVOR: Nicaragua Recap – “Fatigue Makes Cowards of Us All”

Previously on SURVIVOR…
The contestants were split into two tribes. The Espada tribe members are all over the age of 40, while La Flor is comprised by those under 30. So it’s young vs. old (or relatively old) this season. Another twist? The Medallion of Power is now in play. The tribe that’s in possession can use the MoP in order to gain certain advantages during competitions. Once it’s used, it’s passed to the other team. Last week, Espada opted not to use the MoP and ended up in tribal council. Wendy was sent home. Advantage: La Flor.
One other thing…as you may have noticed, the producers are obsessed with Jimmy Johnson this season. The coach has received so much air time that I’m not sure we’ve even met all his other tribe mates. It’s actually quite annoying and I’m not sure it’s going to end until he gets voted off the island.
It seems we’re seeing more of the same as tonight’s episode picks up. Jill explained that the Espada tribe meets every morning to decide the tasks for the day and assign duties. From the perspective of the audience, it’s really Coach Jimmy telling people what to do. Marty was quite fine letting Jimmy J. sticking his neck out on the line by assuming command. Jimmy T., on the other hand, wasn’t too pleased that people seem to be so focused on Coach.
Over in La Flor, the young’uns were still sounding like a bunch of fools. Sash made the statement that his father is black so therefore he’d like to take as many minorities with him to the end. SURVIVOR as a political and social statement? C’mon now. Then again, this is the same guy that includes “Dating Beautiful Women” as one of his hobbies in his player profile so….

BETTER WITH YOU’s Jake Lacey Talks Nudity

Tonight, BETTER WITH YOU debuts on ABC, and it’s one of my favorite new comedies this fall.
Starring Jennifer Finnigan (CLOSE TO HOME), Joanna Garcia (PRIVILEGED), Josh Cooke (COMMITTED), Jake Lacey, Kurt Fuller (most recently seen on PSYCH and SUPERNATURAL) and Debra Jo Rupp (THAT 70s SHOW), it revolves around three couples in varying stages of their romantic relationships.
So when I got the chance to talk with Lacey about the show, I wasn’t going to turn that down.
Take a look at our chat, which includes why he’s been stripping so much on the series…

Do me a favor and tune into BETTER WITH YOU tonight at 8:30 P.M. Would love to know what you guys think of it!
Teri Hatcher to Guest Star on SMALLVILLE
September 22, 2010 by Marisa Roffman

Well, isn’t this a nifty twist?
The CW confirms to Give Me My Remote that DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES’ Teri Hatcher — who played Lois Lane on THE NEW ADVENTURES OF LOIS AND CLARK back in the day — has been cast on SMALLVILLE as the current Lois Lane’s mother, Ella.
And yes, Ella is still dead, but EW — who first reported the casting news — is saying that Lois discovers old video tapes of her mom in episode 8, so that solves the pesky little technicality.
What do you think? Most brilliant casting move ever?

COUGAR TOWN: Jennifer Aniston Counsels Jules
September 22, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
Filed under #1 featured, Cougar Town
Just as Lisa Kudrow seamlessly melted into what has become the kick ass ensemble cast of COUGAR TOWN last year, tonight’s season 2 premiere of the comedy series will showcase Jennifer Aniston in a role that suits her — and the sitcom — well.
Playing Jules (Courteney Cox)’s therapist — who counsels her through the early trials of her new relationship with Grayson (Josh Hopkins) — Aniston’s character is a bit of a know-it-all who may be hiding a few things.
I won’t spoil the reveal for you. Let’s just say she’s a little quirky. And I think you’ll be pleased to see these two FRIENDS actresses together again onscreen for the first time since FX’s DIRT.
Also, the episode as a whole is pretty freakin’ solid and if you watch this evening — bonus! — you’ll learn a sweet, new drinking game that will test those brain muscles good.
COUGAR TOWN season 2 premieres tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.

LIFE UNEXPECTED: Emma Caulfield Makes Her Debut, Lux Makes a Connection
September 22, 2010 by Korbi Ghosh
Filed under #1 featured, Life Unexpected
So, in last week’s season 2 premiere, we met a whole slew of new LIFE UNEXPECTED characters and some of you weighed in with your opinion on who you like and who needs to go. But yesterday evening, the lovely and talented Emma Caulfield joined this group of LUX newbies, playing playing Baze’s boss at his dad’s investment firm as I first reported back in July.
Thoughts on her addition now that you’ve seen her character in action?
It’s not unlike the Susan role she played on BEVERLY HILLS 90210 back in the day, right? Whip smart and no nonsense?
And just like Susan warmed to Mr. Brandon Walsh, Caulfield’s LUX character will be giving Baze a chance before we know it.
Cool?
Better her than Arielle Kebbel’s bartender character, no?
Weigh in below and give us your two cents on Shaun Sipos’ handholding with our girl, Lux, last night too. Are we okay with that? I mean, 23 and 16 is a significant age difference. And though Lux may seem mature, she’s still cheating on English tests and lying to her parents about where she is at night, so yeah, she’s a kid.
One final note: I love me some Ryan. Every girl deserves a dude like him. Will be interesting to see the dynamic between him and Cate now that she’s taking on a producer role at the radio station…
