FOX just announced premiere dates of new and returning series, as well as revisions to its 2010-2011 midseason schedule, including AMERICAN IDOL moving to Wednesdays and Thursdays, and schedule changes that affect fan favorites such as BONES and FRINGE.

In case you live under a rock, you’ve by now heard that Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez will be joining Randy Jackson at the judges table on the upcoming season of AMERICAN IDOL. The series is making the move to Wednesday and Thursdays this season. The two-night 10th season premiere event airs Wednesday, Jan. 19 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Jan. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

So what does this mean for BONES and FRINGE? Booth, Brennan and the Squints don’t have to go too far. Starting January 20th, BONES will be airing on Thursdays at 9pm, following IDOL. Starting on January 28th, FRINGE will be moving to its new night and time, Fridays at 9pm.

Those aren’t the only changes to the Fox midseason schedule. With the addition of new programming, other shows will need to be shuffled around. Highlights from the Fox midseason schedule as well as the day by break down can be found after the break.

Hey, FRINGE fans! How insane was Thursday’s episode?

Holy moly.

The case was good — although it felt like it could have been played out in either universe — but we got a new look at alt-Broyles, Walternate and Olivia finally caught a break in her attempt to return home.

GREY’S ANATOMY: ‘Slow Night, So Long’

I think I might be drunk by association after watching this week’s delightfully fluffy episode of GREY’S ANATOMY.

It’s nighttime at Seattle Grace, and we get an in-depth look at what the late shift is like for our favorite residents, who are somehow all on night duty at the same time. Meanwhile, across the street at Joe’s bar, the attendings test the upper limits of their alcohol tolerances.

BONES: ‘The Babe in the Bar’

November 19, 2010 by

Hello BONES pals! After Brennan’s edict in “The Bones that Weren’t,” several of us went out and bought new toothbrushes, and after this episode, some of us may be swearing off chocolate for awhile. Why’s that? Well, let’s discuss, of course! Starting with…

THE CASE:

The episode begins with Willy Wonka-esque Jimmy Walpert III (played by Wayne Knight, aka “Newman”), enticing a crowd over the love of chocolate. His company, Walpert Chocolate, is unveiling the world’s largest chocolate bar. As his assistants saw open the bar, they encounter a blockage. But it’s not a creamy caramel center; it’s human remains. Delish!

FRINGE Preview: ‘The Abducted’ Brings The Candyman and Olivia’s Quest to Return Home

November 18, 2010 by

Tonight’s brand new episode of FRINGE is set “over there” and our Olivia’s growing unrest over her displacement is reaching a boiling point.

In “The Abducted,” Olivia reaches out to Henry (returning guest star Andre Royo), who is really the only person on the other side whom she trusts. And apparently her hijacking of his cab in the third season premiere is all forgiven because he’s willing to help her above and beyond the call of duty.

I’ve seen the ep and while I don’t want to ruin the experience for you guys and spoil everything, I do have a few teases for you…

Keith Carradine (DEXTER, DAMAGES) is popping up as Penny’s dad in tonight’s episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY and she’s apparently neglected to tell him that she and Leonard are no longer a pair… and so she asks her ex to just pretend.

Check out a preview from this evening in which Leonard is having a little too much fun participating in the charade. I dare you to not laugh at Sheldon’s reaction…

BONES: Stephen Nathan Previews Brennan’s ‘Emotional Upheaval,’ the Sniper’s Victim(s), a Valentine’s Day Episode and More

November 18, 2010 by

In the months since the powers-that-be behind BONES started teasing the upcoming Brennan point of view episode, fans have been speculating what the heck will go down.

BONES star Michaela Conlin was hesitant to discuss it during our chat. Thankfully, executive producer Stephen Nathan was far more willing to talk about the hour. Based on what he said, it appears the final result is a bit different than what they initially intended to do when the episode was first conceived. Regardless, it sounds as if the hour will be getting a definite reaction from viewers.

Read on for Nathan’s take on that, the return of the Gravedigger, the sniper, when Cyndi Lauper might return, their Valentine’s Day episode and much more…

MODERN FAMILY: “Manny Get You Gun”

November 18, 2010 by

It was great to have MODERN FAMILY back this week! Dang you CMA’s for keeping it away from us last week! I missed my FAMILY!

It’s Manny’s birthday, and the whole family gathers to celebrate, despite their sour moods. Even Manny has had a rough time of it.  After Jay tells him that he’s never really thought of him as a kid, Manny fears he let his childhood slip away. He then decides he needs to try every childhood trick in the book including prank calling and mixing a bunch of sodas together. When I was a kid, I never did that – that sounds terrible! Is that a “thing” I missed out on as a child?

SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA Recap – “Stuck in the Middle”

“Expect the unexpected”. It might be the mantra for BIG BROTHER, but it usually hold true for most competition reality shows.  Knowing the heavy hand editing plays in creating suspense in this genre, I never expected that the person targeted in the first scene of tonight’s episode would actually end up going home. But it happened. I can’t say I didn’t see it coming…but I didn’t.

GLEE’s Darren Criss Sings ‘Teenage Dream’ Live in L.A.

November 17, 2010 by

He’s got our heart racing in his skintight jeans…

GLEE newbie Darren Criss (Blaine) thrilled the crowd at The Mint in Los Angeles this weekend when he performed an acoustic version of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”.

Oh and sorry to break all Dan’s your big gay hearts, but Darren Criss likes the ladies. Vanity Fair got this adorable response when they asked Criss about his “personal connection” to Blaine’s storyline.

VF: Not that this is in any way necessary for an actor playing any kind of role, but I’m wondering about your own personal connection to the character of Blaine and the subject matter you’re addressing.

Darren: It’s a subject that’s very near and dear to my heart, simply because I grew up in such an open community—doing theater in San Francisco. I mean, it doesn’t get much, stereotypically, “gayer.” I was inadvertently raised in the “gay community.” I had straight parents, but I spent massive amounts of time at a very early age with gay, theater-hopeful thirty-somethings. And those were the people I spent time with early on, so my whole perception of “sexuality” just wasn’t there. It just…was. It even got to the point where, later in life… I had all the components in place. I was, well, not super effeminate, but I was into girly things—I liked musical theater, all the stereotypical things. I had to come out and say, well, I’m sorry, but I think I’m straight. And people were like, say it ain’t so! And I would say, “It’s been a secret too long, but I’m actually a straight male.”

A straight man that can sing and loves show tunes. Where have you been all my life?!
