Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Thursday, January 6, 2011
January 6, 2011 by Kath Skerry
It’s Thursday! Okay, not all of our favorite shows are back with new episodes tonight, but is that really a bad thing? Yes, I’m going to be missing the Salvatore brothers and the hijinks over at Dunder Mifflin. I’m sure many of you wish we were visiting one of the FRINGE universes this evening or spending some quality time with your favorite TV couple, Booth and Hannah (oh snap!). But at least this is a manageable Thursday night lineup, without the stress of overworked DVRs…
Which shows are you going to watch live, DVR for later, or skip altogether?
Here are a few highlights from tonight’s TV lineup…
The Big Bang Theory | 8pm on CBS
“The Bus Pants Utilization”
Leonard has a great idea for a smartphone app, and it causes friction with Sheldon. [GMMR: I can only imagine what Leonard will come up with. Perhaps an app to deal with Sheldon’s “behavioral issues”.]
$#*! My Dad Says | 8:30pm on CBS
“Goodson Goes Deep”
Ed is thrown a curveball when a piece of baseball memorabilia he wants is sold to someone else; Bonnie and Vince’s living situation complicates their pregnancy efforts. [GMMR: Winner of the People’s Choice Awards for Favorite New TV Comedy. Yeah, I tend to believe that the “people” are better than that. Nice rig job, CBS. RAISING HOPE got screwed!]
Grey’s Anatomy | 9pm on ABC
“Disarm”
A mass shooting at a nearby college reopens some not-so-old wounds at the hospital. Meanwhile, Arizona returns to a welcome that’s less than warm.
CSI | 9pm on CBS
“Man Up”
A call girl is strangled to death and her body is found in a Dumpster. A photo of the crime scene appeared on the Internet before the victim was discovered, but it was initially believed by the CSIs to be fake. Carrot Top appears as himself.
Private Practice | 10pm on ABC
“If You Don’t Know Me By Now”
Addison’s mother demands she do whatever it takes to keep her partner alive; a medical consultation becomes complicated for Amelia and Pete; Charlotte and Cooper give intimacy another try; Violet considers publishing a revealing book. [GMMR: I wonder if Taye Diggs knows he is my new favorite coffee drink. #CougarTown]

The Mentalist | 10pm on CBS
“Bloodsport”
The murder of a woman tied to a pro fighter has the team exploring the mixed-martial arts world. Meanwhile, LaRoche continues to focus his investigation on Jane.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills | 9pm on Bravo
“How to Behave”
Camille sets out to mend her seriously shattered relationship with Kyle by inviting Kyle to a potentially cringe-worthy tennis-and-swimming get-together. Also, Kyle hosts a birthday party for Mauricio, but Taylor’s marital issues rise to the surface. [GMMR: What do you guys think of Camille leaving the show next season? Will all my disdain be redirected to Kim or will they bring in a new, more loathsome housewife. Sorry, I’m being mean. It’s probably my overwhelming sense of jealousy towards Camille. Ha!]
Jersey Shore | 10pm on MTV | Season Premiere
“Back to the Shore”
The roommates return to Seaside Heights in the season opener, and Snooki’s friend Deena fills the spot left open by twice ousted Angelina. Later, the girls’ feud from Miami spills over into the first night. [GMMR: Cabs are here!]
Also playing…
- Million Dollar Money Drop | 8pm on Fox: Contestants answer questions in hope of winning $1 million.
- The Facebook Obsession| 9pm on CNBC: The real story behind the rise of the largest social media site in the world, as told by Facebook’s founders, friends and foes. [GMMR: It’s not often that I highlight CNBC programming, but this could be good. Plus, I am visiting the Facebook offices on Monday and I want to see if I can recognize some of the really rich people while I am there.]

I actually really hope Camille doesn’t leave — even though she comes across as an awful, awful person, she’s interesting to watch. And if she does leave, they’re going to have to bring in a new villain. Kim is too pathetic to be the person on the show that we hate on.
And you know, we really should get over our jealousy of Camille. Celebrate women and all that. 🙂
fans that are feeling hannah insult to them/will appreciate the break/thanks.
