Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Friday, January 7, 2011
January 7, 2011 by Kath Skerry
Whew…we made it! It’s Friday.
Of course for me, it doesn’t quite feel like a Friday without SUPERNATURAL and SMALLVILLE in the line-up. But they’ll be back soon enough and we’ll be adding FRINGE to our Friday spotlight posts too. Good times!
Just a little shout out to Marisa Roffman who is covering the TCAs for GiveMeMyRemote.com in L.A. over the next few weeks. It’s a lot of work, but hopefully she’s having a bit of fun. So jealous that she got to sit in a room with Oprah yesterday. Sadly, the big O didn’t give away any cars.
For the latest from the winter TCAs, keep checking GMMR and be sure to follow @MarisaRoffman and @KorbiGhosh on Twitter.
Now on to the highlights (and I use that term loosely) of tonight’s TV lineup. Talk to us…what will YOU be watching?
Supernanny | 8pm on ABC
“The George Family”
Jo helps a couple who are unable to discipline their five aggressive daughters and young granddaughter. [GMMR: Now here’s a show that I’d like to see a ‘where are they now’ episode. I’m betting at least half of those children she worked with reverted back to their devil spawn state as soon as the cameras were off. Right?]
Medium | 8pm on CBS
“Only Half Lucky”
Allison has a dream that causes her to become suspicious of her brother’s (David Arquette) recent success; Devalos’ campaign manager is interested in Bridgette’s abilities. [GMMR: Any fans of this show out there? Wondering if it changed the perspective of fans now that we saw first hand what a certifiable crackpot the real Allison DuBois is.]
CSI: NY| 9pm on CBS
“The What End?”
A man in a clown costume shoots a bakery owner and the investigation reveals a decision from Flack’s past that puts him in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Jo’s ex-husband, FBI agent Russ Josephson (David James Elliott), visits.
Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star | 9pm on OWN | Series Premiere
“It Takes a Village”
Ten would-be Oprahs and Dr. Phils vie for a chance at a talk show of their very own on OWN in this elimination contest. In the series opener, they’re introduced by Oprah and must produce talk-show segments under Dr. Phil’s watchful eye. Carson Kressley and Nancy O’Dell are the hosts. Mark Burnett (“Survivor,” “The Apprentice”) is the executive producer.
The Soup | 10pm on E!
A weekly recap of various pop culture and television show moments of the week. The show is hosted by Joel McHale, who provides sarcastic and biting commentary on the various clips.
