GREY’S ANATOMY: ‘Start Me Up’
January 14, 2011 by Christina Scanlon
Filed under #1 featured, Grey's Anatomy, Grey's Anatomy Recap
Smell that, kids? That’s the fresh scent of January, that peaceful little time in between the holidays and February sweeps. For GREY’S ANATOMY, this means it’s a time of relatively few major developments (with one BIG exception, which we’ll get to later). But these episodes are important as well – every story has to have a middle, and while there wasn’t an overload of excitement this week, we are now nicely set up for the craziness that will inevitably happen when GREY’S returns next month.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE fans, the Hot Tamale Train is returning to the station!
As we previously reported, fan favorite Mary Murphy will be back on the series as a resident judge in the upcoming eighth season. That’s pretty darn awesome, right?
I caught up with Murphy at this week’s Fox All-Star party and she talked about her recent health issues, how they will impact her role on the show and what she was up to while she was away…

MODERN FAMILY: ‘Our Children, Ourselves’
January 13, 2011 by Haylee Fisher

I tuned into MODERN FAMILY on time and freaked out when I realized the president had pre-empted the show! You too? Yeah, this recap is for those of you who thought we were only going to see 10 minutes of our favorite family this week…
Who else was excited to have Mary Lynn Rajskub (24) guesting? She and Jesse Tyler Ferguson were on LOPEZ TONIGHT a few days ago and previewed some clips, which got me pretty pumped for the episode. She didn’t get to show off her comedic side on 24 too often, but the woman needs to do more comedy. She was perfect as Mitchell’s former girlfriend, Tracy (Yes, girlfriend! Who knew?!) and possible baby mama.

Who Went Home on TOP CHEF: ALL STARS?
January 13, 2011 by Samantha Simorangkir
Filed under #1 featured, Top Chef, Top Chef: All Stars
What do we have here? No quick fire challenge? The chefs are hopping on a boat to go fishing in Montauk? No running around the kitchen like chickens with their heads cut off? Am I still on Bravo or did I change the channel by accident?
Well as much as I loves me some drama, I must say tonight’s episode was a nice vacation, in more ways than one.
There were no bells and whistles this week: no Joe Jonas, no language barrier at the Chinatown market – just honest-to-goodness, ocean-to-table cooking. Nothing tastes better than something you killed or caught yourself. A hard day’s work culminating in a fresh, delicious meal on the beach. It’s the way food should be. It’s the way life should be.
The only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth this episode was Marcel. I know what you’re thinking. Why should that surprise me? Still, he was extra douchy tonight. Right off the bat, he is yelling at Dale for not making as many plates as him. There is so much wrong with his rant that I don’t even know where to begin.
Ok how about here:
BIG BANG THEORY Renewed For Three More Seasons

Comments Off on BIG BANG THEORY Renewed For Three More Seasons
Though it’s no surprise that THE BIG BANG THEORY is here to stay, CBS announced today that they’ll be renewing the very successful sitcom for three more years.
Yup. Penny and the boys will stick around until 2014 at the very least… which is very cool… because we love them.
“It doesn’t take a theoretical physicist to see why this show is a BIG part of our comedy future. The creative genius of Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and the on-camera talents of an amazing young ensemble have created a comedy that will entertain viewers for a long time,” Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement.
Great news for all involved with TBBT, which has a Golden Globe nod to celebrate this month too.
Congratulations to the cast and crew!

OFF THE MAP with FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS’ Zach Gilford Premieres Tonight

Comments Off on OFF THE MAP with FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS’ Zach Gilford Premieres Tonight
Okay, so, Zach Gilford (aka Matt Saracen on FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) is just one of the fine actors in this ensemble cast which was put together by executive producers Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Jenna Bans (GREY’S ANATOMY, PRIVATE PRACTICE), but he’s the reason I’ll be giving OFF THE MAP a shot.
However, if you’re a fan of Shonda or GREY’S or PP — and I know many of you are — you should definitely peep the series premiere of OTM this evening.
It’s a medical drama in a “Doctors Without Borders” type setting and it debuts at 10/9 central.
Take an early look…

COUGAR TOWN Goes Deep Inside The Head of Andy Torres
January 12, 2011 by Korbi Ghosh
Filed under #1 featured, Cougar Town
On tonight’s all-new episode of COUGAR TOWN, the cul-de-sac crew will be debating about men and women and friendship.
But that’s like a whole day away.
Clearly too long to wait for your next taste of COUGAR.
Not to worry. The brilliant minds behind the show have crafted a little treat for their diehard fans with Andy Torres (Ian Gomez) taking center stage and you can peep the first two installments — featuring Bobby Cobb (Brian Van Holt), Travis Cobb (Dan Byrd) and other series regulars — right now.
The webisodes allow us a look into the dreams Andy has every day when he takes his ritual siesta at the office. His mind floats off into make believe, which kind of reminds me of the J.D. fantasies on SCRUBS, if they were allowed to play out for a few minutes.
Anyhoo, the first two are below and both worth watching, though I’m partial to the first…
BONES: Will Emily Deschanel Make Her Directing Debut in Season 6?
January 12, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
One of the biggest drawbacks to BONES getting the much coveted post-AMERICAN IDOL timeslot? Series star Emily Deschanel’s long-awaited directing debut was delayed.
Boo!
However, the good news is that she will get the chance to direct this season.
When will that be? I caught up with Deschanel last night at the FOX TCA party and she was kind enough to shed some light…

Ain’t nothin’ but a GLEE thing, baby.
Matt Morrison’s abs drive me crazy.
You too?
Guess we’re not the only ones.
The cast of GLEE, with a little help from MODERN FAMILY’s Sofia Vergara and actresses Riki Lindhome and Ashley Lendzion, have put their own twist on Dr. Dre’s “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang” for your viewing pleasure… and Mr. Schue’s middle section gets the spotlight.
Take a look…
