GLEE: Jane Lynch Previews the Post-Super Bowl Episode and Joining the Glee Club

After a nearly two month break, GLEE is back this Sunday with a very special post-Super Bowl airing.

There’s been a lot of talk about what the kids in New Directions will be up to, but what about our favorite villain? What’s Sue up to in the massive Super Bowl hour?

“She is bored with the routine that she’s been doing and decides to top herself,” Jane Lynch (Sue) previewed. “She gets a human cannon and tries to shoot Brittany through it. And Figgins won’t let her, so she has a hissy fit and destroys a few rooms.”

But that hissy fit is just the beginning of Sue’s problems in the hour.

“In the Super Bowl episode, my star Cheerios leave me for the glee club,” Lynch teased. “I make them choose: ‘You either come with me and do this routine or stay and do the half-time routine with the glee club.’ And they chose the glee club, so I don’t have my team and so I have to forfeit Nationals. I’m probably not going to Nationals, which is why Katie Couric interviews me as the ‘Year’s Biggest Loser.'”

That downward spiral leads to the unlikeliest of places in an upcoming episode — New Directions.

“We’re doing an episode, and we’re calling it the Justin Bieber episode,” Lynch said. “And I join the glee club, because I’m very depressed and Will thinks that singing might be good for me.”

So yes, GLEE fans, Lynch will be singing again. It doesn’t appear there will be a Sue solo, but she said she participated in a couple group songs during the hour, including a tune by My Chemical Romance. However, Lynch said she would be open to singing more on the show in the future.

“I would love it!” she said. “I would love it. I enjoy it very much.”
