THE OFFICE Recap: ‘Threat Level Midnight’

After three years of writing, one year of shooting, four years of re-shooting and two years of editing, tonight for the first time ever, audiences across the world got their first look at ‘Threat Level Midnight’ – a film by Michael Scott (‘Great Scott!) And let me be the first to tell you that it was spectacular!
Michael Scarn and ‘Threat Level Midnight’ were first introduced to OFFICE fans back in November of 2005 during the show’s damn near perfect sophomore season. In the episode entitled ‘The Client’, while Michael is out of the office at a meeting, Pam discovers his screenplay for ‘Threat Level: Midnight’ and shares it with Jim who quickly gathers the whole office for a dramatic table read.
Six years later Agent Michael Scarn and his team of merry misfits are brought back to life by writer B.J. Novak (Ryan Howard/the original Samuel L. Chang) in this standout episode.
MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘Princess Party’

Is it just me, or have there been a lot of birthdays on MODERN FAMILY lately? It seems like just the other day we were celebrating Manny’s birthday and mini-crisis over getting older and now here we are celebrating Lily’s birthday and Cameron’s mini-crisis over not being able to be Fizbo at the party!
Speaking of Fizbo, as I mentioned last week, I only started watching MODERN FAMILY this year, so I didn’t get to experience him the first time around. But I can see why Cam wanted to bring him back. I loved him trying to convince Mitchell that Fizbo could be a court jester at Lily’s princess-themed party in his terrible British accent. Here’s hoping we’ll see more Fizbo, maybe at yet another birthday party.

On tonight’s brand new episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY, Leonard once again finds himself drawn to Raj’s sister.
However, his ex-girlfriend, Penny, isn’t handling that news so well. In fact, a promo for “The Cohabitation Formulation” shows that she turns to Amy for a shoulder to cry on. Clearly that’s going to end well for everyone.
Check out this preview for a tease of what will go down…
BONES: Is Brennan the Consolation Prize?

For the first time all season, this Thursday’s episode of BONES will feature Booth and Brennan single and free of significant romantic relationships…just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Luckily for them, they’re investigating the case of a murdered wedding planner, so not everyone will be feeling the lovey-dovey holiday.

Are you ready to time travel, VAMPIRE DIARIES fans? In Thursday’s episode, “The Dinner Party,” we find ourselves back in the late 1800s again — this time to explore more of Stefan’s dark past.
Flash forward to the present time and we find our favorite Mystic Falls vampires hosting a dinner party. The party will be thrown by Damon, with the guest list including Jenna, Alaric, Andie, and…Elijah. According to the episode description, “last minute information throws Damon’s plan into chaos.” Hmm.

GLEE Recap: ‘Comeback’
February 16, 2011 by Haylee Fisher
GLEE aired their much-anticipated (by tween girls) Justin Bieber episode Tuesday night, but considering all the hype about featuring the Biebs, they only sang two of his songs. And we didn’t see the Warblers at all, which was disappointing – they’re my new obsession.
Last week’s love-triangle-filled Valentines episode didn’t feature Sue at all, but boy, she was back this week in full force. I didn’t like her “Sue-icide” at the beginning, though – I thought it was a little dramatic, even for her. Plus, hasn’t she used the “SpongeHair SquareChin” line on Will before?
And of course she was trying to pit New Directions against each other! Joining glee club to find meaning in her life, my foot! Why would they expect anything less?
FRINGE’s Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman to Fans: Don’t Worry About the Ratings

After a few solid weeks where FRINGE kicked ratings butt, this past Friday’s numbers (3.7 million viewers and a 1.4 in the important demo) sent Twitter into a tizzy with people declaring that the “death slot” had claimed another victim.
But is the show really that bad off?
When I talked with FRINGE showrunners Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman earlier today, we discussed their passionate fanbase and why the ratings aren’t as bad as some people think they are…
V Preview: ‘Siege’

After viewing tonight’s episode of V, I can essentially sum in up in two unspoilery words: it’s awesome.
“Siege” is actually so big that I’m a little surprised this isn’t a season finale. (It’s not…we’re a little past the halfway point of season two) There isn’t a moment spared as many of the season’s arcs collide when Erica is “kidnapped,” Kyle’s loyalty to the Fifth Column is tested, Jack is asked to leave the church and Diana and Lisa have a long-overdue meeting.
It’s a really great hour that should be as unspoiled as possible, but a little tease can’t hurt, right?

CHUCK: Chuck vs. the C.A.T Squad
February 15, 2011 by Kath Skerry
It’s not very often I wish I was a man, but I have to wonder if perhaps I would have dug last night’s episode of CHUCK a bit more if I was a dude. Can’t deny the hot girl quotient was off the charts and I loved seeing the return of Carina, but on the whole I didn’t love the whole C.A.T. Squad storyline. While there was an element of fun, it felt a little too cartoonish to me. I suppose it seems a bit ridiculous for me to say that I like a little more realism from CHUCK – I mean, the show is about a guy has a government computer in his head – but finding the real moments among the absurd circumstances helps to ground the show. While watching last night’s ep, too often I wondered if I was watching a companion show to NBC’s THE CAPE. Whoa, way harsh, Cher. I know, but it’s how I was feeling.
HOUSE: You Must Remember This
February 15, 2011 by Erik Wilkinson
Filed under #1 featured, House, House Recap
The opening moments of this week’s HOUSE crystallized the dangers of having too much information at your disposal. As a kid, it was fun to memorize the state capitals or who the 22nd President of the United States was. Those memory games were silly excuses to feel smart, not a lifelong burden. It is daunting to imagine the weight of carrying your legacy in the back pocket of your brain. Thankfully, most of us are spared that responsibility by old age, lost brain cells, and old-fashioned forgetfulness.
Only a handful of Americans live each day with “superior autobiographical memory,” including actress Marilu Henner, but the recent 60 Minutes piece describing their powers of recall was impactful. Though House’s patient of the week, Nadia, was ultimately diagnosed with a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, her inability to remain blissfully ignorant caused Princeton Plainsboro’s finest to examine their own capabilities to forgive and forget.
(It was Grover Cleveland, by the way…)

THE BACHELOR: Bad Romance
February 15, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
I’ve watched every episode of THE BACHELOR this season, but was I the only one who consistently forgot Britt was on this show?
No, seriously, who is Britt? Is she the first girl in the history of the show to get to the top 6 without getting a one-on-one date? Every time her face flashed on the screen in previous episodes, I’d be baffled by how she stayed on so long while barely making an impression, but Brad obviously saw something he liked.
Her luck changed in Monday’s episode when she got some time with Brad and the duo spent their date on a yacht and jumping off a cliff. Apparently Britt and Brad were having different dates because she thought it went fantastically and he didn’t see a romantic future with her. So he dumped her…on the boat. I’m all about respecting honesty and listening to your feelings, but he couldn’t have waited until she was on land? Or finished her dinner?
