FRINGE: Jasika Nicole and Jeff Pinkner Tease ‘Immortality’

February 11, 2011 by

FRINGE fans, it’s fair to say you won’t want to miss tonight’s episode.

Reporters were asked to avoid revealing any of the major plot points of “Immortality,” so when I participated in a conference call with FRINGE executive producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman earlier this week, I asked them how they would tease the episode.

GREY’S ANATOMY Recap: ‘P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)’

Comments Off on GREY’S ANATOMY Recap: ‘P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)’

Well hello, GREY’S ANATOMY fans! This week’s episode wasn’t the most exciting – in fact, several characters were either barely in it or altogether absent – but there was still plenty to recap, so here goes…

First up, we have Callie, poor pregnant Callie, who wants nothing in the world except a cup of coffee. Mark and Arizona have other ideas though, like healthy dinners and green smoothies that taste as bad as they look…and a complete ban on coffee. They battle it out with Callie the entire episode until finally she gets fed up and gives a big long speech in which the phrase “vagina vote” gets used more than once, and basically states that she’s going to eat whatever she damn well pleases since she’s the one who has to pop out a baby. Mark and Arizona back down, because really, how can you argue with someone saying “vagina vote”? Callie makes a small compromise to at least eat the broccoli that Arizona made – as long as it’s accompanied by a peanut butter sandwich.

In addition to taking care of Callie, Mark is also trying to reconcile things with Lexie. Since Lexie isn’t as interested in talking to him as, say, blowing him off, he resorts to other measures…like bribing Jackson with cool surgeries in exchange for finding out whatever he can about her. This may be an idea Mark will live to regret. Lexie opens up to Jackson over peanut butter cups because Mark told Jackson she loves peanut butter cups and holy crap why is there so much peanut butter in this episode??? Related question: why is there NO peanut butter in my apartment to fulfill my sudden craving? Really, GREY’S, what are you trying to do to me here?

BONES Recap: ‘The Daredevil in the Mold’

February 11, 2011 by

Hey everyone! Hope you are having a great week!

You know, one of the things I’ve been thinking about this entire season is that it’s sort of Hart Hanson’s fault.

No, I’m not talking about devolution of characters; I’m not talking about significant others–I’m talking about the genuine, intense, heartfelt, slightly (um…sure!) obsessed and nitpicky way a lot of us feel about BONES. The thing is, we learned from the best: Booth and Brennan.

Talk about two people who stop at nothing until the case is solved! We want all the data and facts and we trust what our guts tell us. None of you (probably) knew me before I’d ever seen an episode of BONES, and so you don’t have all the evidence to prove how I’ve grown as a person from watching it. Brain and Heart. Intellect and Intuition. Evidence and Experience. Brennan and Booth; they’re the best. For me, they portray the way I am able to express how I feel. And so I can say that I feel no shame in now saying “I don’t know what that means,” and I’ve also learned to feel that love is worth it. As Booth would say, “I just do.”

MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘Bixby’s Back’

February 10, 2011 by
Filed under #1 featured, Modern Family

Before we get started, I want to congratulate MODERN FAMILY on their recent SAG Award and Writer’s Guild Award wins! Because the show has been in repeats, I haven’t been able to mention it, but I wanted to make sure I got to it this week.

Speaking of being off the air for two weeks, I may have forgotten how to do this. Let’s get started and see how I do!

It’s Valentine’s Day and every family has a reservation at the same restaurant, Ibiza. Seems a little far-fetched to me. But whatever, it’s a TV show.

TOP CHEF ALL STARS: Feeding Fallon

The Italian guys, Fabio and Mike, are still butt-hurt about Antonia winning the last challenge. They say her combination of mussels and fennel was definitely French and had no place winning an Italian cuisine challenge. To me, her winning with a sorta-French dish just means that it tasted amazing enough for it not to matter. No matter how you swing it, there’s no arguing against a win for the tastiest dish. I get Fabio’s frustration, having made that elaborate, traditional, chicken cacciatore, but Mike and his undercooked pasta need to take their bitching elsewhere.

The quickfire challenge – judged by fellow cheftestants (gasp!) – is to make a unique fondue. Padma says this means something more exciting than chocolate and bananas. Of course, Blais takes this as an invitation to make a chocolate and banana fondue…except, it shall be infused with awesomeness i.e. liquid nitrogen. These days, Richard’s swag is leaning a bit too far on the arrogance scale for my taste. If I need to hear about how he should have won his season one more time…

Dale’s fondue is inspired by pho, which is my favorite thing to eat when hungover … I mean… on a cold day. He calls it a pho-ndue. Love. It.

THE BIG BANG THEORY: Mayim Bialik Teases Sheldon-Amy’s Relationship and Reveals a Superhero Dream

One of the funniest things about THE BIG BANG THEORY this season? The unexpectedly charming pairing of the socially awkward Sheldon with the equally quirky Amy Farrah Fowler.

So what’s next for the duo?

I caught up with THE BIG BANG THEORY star Mayim Bialik (Amy) at the recent Writers Guild Awards, where she weighed in on that and who she’d like the chance to work with more. Plus, she revealed her desire to dress up as a famous comic book character on the show!

BONES: Michaela Conlin and Hart Hanson Discuss Angela’s Pregnancy

February 9, 2011 by

On BONES, Angela has had a completely adorable and relatively easy pregnancy — so far.

As Give Me My Remote readers might remember, I talked with Michaela Conlin (Angela) and T.J. Thyne (Hodgins) at the beginning of season six and both stars warned the pregnancy would inevitably get rough.

So when will the drama start?

I caught up with Conlin last month and she teased the complications would start soon…
