GLEE may have blazed the trail for musicals as a suitable genre for a series as a whole, but the musical “moment” in television has a long, proud, and epically awesome history.
In honor of the GREY’S ANATOMY musical event tonight, we’re taking a look back at some of our past favorite moments in no particular order…
GREY’S ANATOMY: Chyler Leigh Teases THE MUSICAL EVENT

GREY’S ANATOMY has never shied away from big, buzzworthy stunts, but tonight’s hour may top all of those: a musical episode.
Considering the vocal talent among the cast — especially Tony-winner Sara Ramirez (Callie), whom “Song Beneath the Song” is centered on — GREY’S ANATOMY: THE MUSICAL EVENT isn’t that big of a stretch. The actors had apparently made a potential musical episode a running joke on set…until they found out one was in the works.
“I thought it was a joke,” Chyler Leigh (Lexie) admitted, of her initial reaction to the announcement. “We have been joking about it for the last few seasons, just going, ‘Oh, yeah, I just can’t wait for that musical episode,’ kinda just really, genuinely joking about it. And thinking, ‘Oh, singing and dancing, and cutting people down the hallway, wouldn’t that be funny?'”
As it turns out, even once the news became official, Leigh was still in the dark.

AMERICAN IDOL Highlights: Casey Abrams Sings ‘Your Song’ and Hayley Reinhart Takes On ‘Benny and the Jets’

Hey, hey AMERICAN IDOL fans!
Last week we heard the Top 11 sing some Motown, and I don’t know about you, but in my opinion, it’s best to let Stevie sing Stevie.
So I was a little bit hesitant when I heard that this week’s IDOL theme would be “Elton John.” I think each of the IDOL contestants have a niche, and honestly, I’m not sure that any of them really NEED to try new styles in order to be successful. Scotty will sing country and make a lot of money. Pia will sing ballads and sell records. Etc, etc…
What do you think? Does an AMERICAN IDOL winner need to prove that he or she can sing different styles? Or is that not necessary?
I suppose you’re not here to philosophize AI, so instead, let’s get to talking about some of the singing, and of course, we want to know what you think. Was Casey worth the save? Are the girls as strong as the guys?

So what brings him back? Sorry Finnchel fans, but apparently Jesse wants to apologize and possibly win Rachel back.

TOP CHEF: ALL STARS Season Finale Preview
March 30, 2011 by Haylee Fisher

Comments Off on TOP CHEF: ALL STARS Season Finale Preview
After months of grueling competition, it all boils down to this: the season finale of TOP CHEF: ALL STARS.
Tonight, we crown this season’s winner, but not before the final two – Richard and Mike – can create the restaurant of their dreams to show the judges everything they can do to win it all. Of course they get sous chefs to help them achieve this, in the form of contestants who have been eliminated this season. The twist, though, is they will pick them in a blind test just by tasting their food and not knowing who cooked it.
I’ve refrained from saying who I’m rooting for this season because this is, after all, a preview post. But since this is the finale, here goes. Between this final two, I’m hoping Richard wins. I can’t believe Mike made it this far. I’m not a Mike fan at all. I wish Carla was here instead — I wanted her to win it all. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Tiffany, though, because her hometown (Beaumont!) is 30 minutes from my hometown and I’ve always gotta root for the Texas girl. If Mike wins, I may throw something at my TV so I’m really hoping Richard wins.
Check out some previews from tonight’s episode and let me know if you agree with my choice for winner of TOP CHEF: ALL STARS in the comments!

Who Went Home on DANCING WITH THE STARS?

Comments Off on Who Went Home on DANCING WITH THE STARS?
After a recap show that showed what felt like four hours of footage could have been squished into one hour, the elimination episode began. I’ll admit that DANCING WITH THE STARS continues to have the same exact format for eliminations where there is a guest singer, some professional dances, random celeb/pro banter, and every two or three sets of celebrities being told they were safe or “in jeopardy.”
There was a lot of controversy having Chris Brown on the show tonight and I’ll admit that I was disappointed. His performances didn’t sway my opinion past the fact that he still needs anger management.

JUSTIFIED, the FX drama starring Timothy Olyphant, currently in the middle of its second season, has received a 13-episode third season order.
A third season renewal announcement for ARCHER, FX’s animated espionage series, is expected to come shortly.
John Landgraf, President and General Manager of FX Networks, made the JUSTIFIED announcement, adding the following: “JUSTIFIED was a critically acclaimed hit series in its first season, but the show has far surpassed our expectations this season. Creatively, the show is on a roll. The performances of Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins, Margo Martindale and the entire cast are extraordinary. Graham Yost and his team of writers are delivering some of the richest stories anywhere on TV and are doing a brilliant job of being true to Elmore Leonard’s original character, Raylan Givens. We couldn’t be more proud of the work everyone has done.”
