GAME OF THRONES Renewed for Season 2
April 19, 2011 by Korbi Ghosh
HBO has renewed GAME OF THRONES for a second season after the premiere drew decent ratings.
More than 2.2 million viewers tuned into the fantasy series’ debut — based on George R.R. Martin’s book — on Sunday.
The show will cost HBO nearly $50 million per season, but the network apparently feels confident in THRONES’ potential.
GAME OF THRONES, which revolves around a fictional world filled with sex — often of the incestuous kind — scheming, debauchery and the like, seems to be striking a chord with its audience.
