SMALLVILLE: ‘Booster’ Preview

As Clark is struggling with a Blur-related identity crisis, a new superhero named Booster Gold (guest star Eric Martsolf) comes into town and blows everyone away. Booster makes flashy saves, has his own fan club, actively pursues Lois to do a story on him and generally sets out to steal Clark’s thunder. “I’m kind of a big deal,” Booster declares.
Martsolf is fantastically charming (in a very CASTLE-esque way) as a wannabe superhero who just wants the adoration of fans. And while Booster might be trying to steal The Blur’s thunder, the two might end up teaching each other a lesson or two.
Can’t wait for “Booster”? Check out some previews of the episode!

THE OFFICE’s ‘Seasons of Love’ Tribute to Michael Scott

Two of my favorite things came together last night – ‘Rent’ and THE OFFICE. (Ok, three of my favorite things if you include John Krasinski…and four if you count John Krasinski singing.)
If you missed the Dunder Mifflin ‘Seasons of Love’ dedication to Michael Scott, check it out here.
Am I the only one who is going to be a total wreck next week during Steve Carell’s last episodes?
GLEE Spoilers: Sneak Peek – Blaine & The Warblers Serenade Kurt
April 22, 2011 by Kath Skerry
Filed under #1 featured, Glee, Glee Spoilers
Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love Blaine and the Pips anymore, the Dalton Academy boys go and do this. (WARNING: GLEE SPOILER ALERT!)
Fans of GLEE probably know that next week is a bit of a homecoming for Kurt Hummel – he will be returning to McKinley High and more importantly to New Directions. Although I’m sure he will be happy rejoining his friends, Kurt will have to say goodbye to The Warblers and his sweet adorable boyfriend, Blaine.
Lucky for Kurt and Blaine (and us), being at different schools won’t mean the end of our favorite super couple, but the separation will no doubt be tough for both. Given the pained look on Blaine’s face in this sneak peek of next week’s episode, I think he’s going to miss having Kurt around school every day.
Watch as Blaine and The Warblers bid Kurt adieu with a serenade of Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know”. (I’ve watched the clip at least five times now, and I’ve yet to get through it without reaching for a tissue to dab my teary eyes. I’m a sucker for these boys.)
“Somewhere Only We Know” as well as all the hits from The Warblers is available on the new CD GLEE: The Music presents The Warblers. I bought the CD the day it was released and haven’t stopped listening to it since. Seriously, I’m obsessed.
Please tell me you loved this scene as much as I did!
BTW, this clip does nothing to help me overcome my current obsession with all things Darren Criss. Nothing at all.

BONES: ‘The Finder’ Recap
April 22, 2011 by Sarah Curtis
Hello, hello!
I’m interested to hear your thoughts on this episode. I think it’s fair to say that despite the opening credits & the happy clinks of beer bottles at the end–this was not an episode of BONES. If I’m being honest, I expected the whole thing to be really cringeworthy, so it was a pleasant surprise that I enjoyed the ep as much as I did. I didn’t really laugh or cry or feel the need to watch it immediately again to analyze certain looks or words, but I liked it well enough.
It just wasn’t BONES.
At least, not to me. Not to get all Plato (or Play-DOH, as Booth might joke) on you, but each of us has our own “ideal state” of what BONES should look like (the show — not just the character), and yet it doesn’t matter what my ideals are, the reality of what occurs in the episodes IS the reality, if that makes sense. It doesn’t matter how much I wish an episode will turn out, or how I’d wish the writers/directors/actors would “manage” their allotted weekly minutes on screen, I have to accept what they deliver. At that point, I can choose whether I like it or don’t like it, but that’s on me.
Yet this hour felt different, as it should have. There’s a new “ideal state” in the equation with new standards. When the episode is held up to the standard of a BONES ep, it doesn’t match up. When it’s judged for what it is, I think it measures up fairly well.
Having said that, instead of using the complete format we normally would for BONES eps, let’s examine the case and then each “half” (a term I use loosely considering the plot-minutes allotted to each) and discuss what worked, what didn’t, and what I want to see more of.

Happy Friday, TV fans! Check out tonight’s lineup below!
Friday Night Lights | 8pm on NBC
“On the Outside Looking In”
Coach Taylor finds out not everyone is pleased by the Lions’ strong showing in their season opening game. Vince realizes his newfound football stardom comes with benefits, while Luke faces consequences for his aggressive play and Tami tries to implement an after-school tutoring program.
Smallville | 8pm on The CW
“Booster”
After everything that happened with the VRA, Lois tells Clark it’s best to make “Clark Kent” forgettable and awkward so people don’t suspect he’s The Blur. However, the two are stunned when a fame-hungry superhero from the future, Booster Gold (guest star Eric Martsolf), sweeps into town and begins making saves and posing for press ops, completely winning over the city of Metropolis. Booster begins his campaign to take The Blur’s place as the “World’s Greatest Superhero” and tries to charm Lois into writing a story about him, but she’s not having his antics and begins her own campaign for The Blur. During one of Booster’s saves, an alien weapon in the form of a scarab falls from a truck and fuses itself to a boy named Jaime Reyes (guest star Jaden Brandt Bartlett), turning him into the Blue Beetle. Unfortunately, Jaime is unable to control the suit and Blue Beetle starts attacking Metropolis.

THE OFFICE Casting Exclusive: Jim Carrey To Guest Star

Comments Off on THE OFFICE Casting Exclusive: Jim Carrey To Guest Star
As if this season’s finale of THE OFFICE wasn’t already star-studded enough with Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett, Ray Romano, James Spader, Catherine Tate and Will Ferrell — who made his debut in last week’s episode — guest starring, several reliable sources tell GIVE ME MY REMOTE that Jim Carrey is now joining the esteemed group.
Though NBC could not confirm this news, I have it on very good authority that Carrey’s deal to appear in THE OFFICE finale has been signed, sealed and delivered.
No word on what he’ll be playing. But I think we should begin speculating!
THE OFFICE season seven finale, which will see the departure of star Steve Carell, airs May 19th.

BONES: Saffron Burrows Teases ‘The Finder’

After months of teasing, the BONES backdoor pilot/crossover with a potential new show/spinoff, “The Finder,” will finally air tonight.
As you may remember, the episode/potential series follows former military man Walter Sherman, who can locate anything. However, his polarizing personality — including extreme paranoia and blunt questions/assumptions – makes him difficult to deal with. He’s brought into the BONES world via his connection to Booth, but the two men have a longstanding grudge against each other for reasons viewers will learn tonight. Walter is assisted on cases by his two partners Ike (who is Walter’s bartender and pilot) and Leo (his lawyer).
I caught up with Saffron Burrows (Ike) and we talked about her role, why she was drawn to this show, working with Geoff Stults (Walter) and Michael Clarke Duncan (Leo) and much more…
MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘Someone to Watch Over Lily’

Now this is MODERN FAMILY the way MODERN FAMILY should be: laugh out loud funny, infusing morals without being overbearing, and best of all, LILY!
The episode mainly revolves around Cameron and Mitchell deciding who would take care of Lily in case something happened to either of them (God forbid). I loved their unannounced visit at Claire and Phil’s –- not only was there breaking glass, but there was a frying pan on fire (twice!), Alex getting locked in the garage and Luke thinking about learning to juggle with knives. And the yelling. Don’t forget the yelling.

AMERICAN IDOL Highlights: Jacob Does ‘Dance With My Father,’ Casey Tackles ‘Maroon 5’
April 20, 2011 by Sarah Curtis
Filed under #1 featured, American Idol
Hey, AMERICAN IDOL watchers! We’re down to the final seven this week, who delivered a slew of performances that were all about heart. No, that wasn’t the theme or anything, it’s just that each singer really went for it.
Now, not every single contestant achieved greatness, but there was a lot of effort put on the table.
Incidentally, what did you think of the remaining Idols judging each other’s mannerisms? It was strange for me, because it was funny — but in a way that goes just a bit too far, no? Kind of like the ‘big reveal’ episode of PROJECT RUNWAY every season where all of the contestants gather to hear what everyone else said about them behind their backs… Awkward!
I thought it was interesting that the judges weren’t in love with Jacob’s performance, as his “Dance With My Father” was my favorite of the night. Take a look…
