BONES: Hart Hanson Talks ‘The Change in the Game’ and a Potential Season 7

With the BONES season winding down, it certainly appears that things are about to get crazy.
“The last two episodes of this season, I think, are going to run the whole gamut of tones that BONES does,” series creator Hart Hanson told reporters on a conference call today. “A lot happens in those last two episodes and I think the title of the season finale — ‘The Change in the Game’ — is about as much as I want to say about it in any kind of detail. I think it’s going to be one of those shows that the BONES audience will talk about and enjoy hugely. If anyone feels there’s an anticlimax to it, I’ve totally failed at my job.”
As for the finale title itself, I asked Hanson whether there was any concern about hyping up the fans for a potential change in the dynamic if they weren’t prepared to actually get Booth and Brennan together this season.
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER’s Craig Thomas Talks John Lithgow’s Return

A few weeks back, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER finally introduced its audience to the father of one Mr. Barney Stinson in an episode that was both hilarious and heartbreakingly poignant.
With Barney realizing that his long lost pops, played brilliantly by John Lithgow, is just a regular guy who lives with his family in the suburbs, there was a great deal of sadness surrounding the question of why he couldn’t be that same stable dude for Barney. You know, if he hasn’t been busy being awesome all this time, what’s his excuse for the 30-year disappearing act?
This Monday, with their father-son situation still unresolved, Barney attempts to pull his dad back into the partying scene.
“The next episode is all about where those two guys stand with each other now that they’re in contact,” explains HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER co-creator Craig Thomas. “With the first Barney’s dad episode, ‘Legendaddy,’ we loved the idea that it wouldn’t all be so easy. You know, these two really haven’t seen each other in 30 years, so resolving [their issues] would be a little too simplistic. So it really ended on a bittersweet note — maybe these guys will form a relationship, but we don’t know.”
Thomas says this next episode picks up from there and shows a second attempt at connecting, the first one having not quite taken: “It’s an episode in which Barney tries to lure his father back into the world of partying and drinking and being awesome ’til all hours of the night and it winds up having unintended consequences. A very reluctant John Lithgow is dragged kicking and screaming into this. His drive, as it was in his first episode, is still just to connect with his son. He has so much guilt that he wasn’t there for Barney throughout his life that he ends up going along for the ride of this wild night with Barney and the gang and it all blows up in their faces and goes horribly awry in some pretty fun ways. It leads to, among other things, a very funny, awkward, embarrassing scene in which John Lithgow gets down on the dance floor with some sick, sweet 70s moves that he hasn’t dusted off in a couple decades.”
SMALLVILLE Recap: Kent

Can you believe we’re in the final stretch of Smallville, with only 4 episodes to go after tonight? Hard to believe, but before we watch Clark fully embrace his superhero self, and fly off into the sky as Superman, show runners gave us a great ep as he battles himself -Clark Luthor, and his father in the alternate world. Sadly it will most likely be the last time we watch as John Schneider plays the role of Clark’s (usually) loving, but stern father Jonathan Kent before the show ends its ten year run.
This time around though, Jonathan has lost it all and was living in a world without Martha, the deed to the once cozy farm, and Clark, who isn’t his son in the alternate universe but someone who is hated. As villain of the week, Clark Luthor takes over from the beginning of the episode after appearing in Smallville with the help of the mirror box that sends the real Clark back to his world. Luckily Lois and Tess pick up on this switch and get to work trying to help the real Superman come back home.
Tom Welling did one heck of a job pulling off the dual identities of his long time character. Changing facial expressions in a flash from kind to evil, Welling lead the whole episode flipping back in forth from his Luthor self, as he played cat and mouse with Tess, trying to romantically connect with his sister (gross right?!), to his heroic self as he attempts to save his disgruntled and angry father in the alternate world.
And while he’s stuck in this horrible reality, Emile and Lois attempt to fix the shattered mirror box that Clark Luthor had tried to destroy for good as a way out of own universe where kryptonite is carried around to ward him off. Meanwhile Tess tries to keep her evil sibling Clark at bay, who is willing to make a life for her as long as she plays along.
Ultimately the best of the episode came when Clark was held up in the farm with Jonathan and reminiscences about their life together. Showing him where Grandpa’s shot gun was and dishing his own advice, and famous quotes back to him, Clark helps bring his angry dad back around and talks him into going after the love of his life Martha. I also loved the strong connection and blind trust the short haired Lois gives to Clark after she figures out who he really is in the alternate universe at Olly’s funeral.
By the show’s end Clark is brought back to Smallville after the mirror box is repaired and just in time to save Tess from Clark Luthor who has her by the neck and is dangling her out the window. Watching evil Clark fight with the real Clark was also a major highlight of the hour. Brining him back to the fortress of solitude, the real Clark dishes his words wisdom about not letting the Luthor name define who he is.
At the close we see the real Clark back and wearing Jonathan’s jacket while he and Lois discuss selling the farm, their recent wedding gift from Martha. What a sad ending! I didn’t think the farm would go. But in order to move closer to his destiny it looks like show runners have decided to move the soon to be married couple into an apartment so that Clark can be the hero he is meant to be.
Alright Smallville fans, ring in on what you thought about this latest episode! What did you think of Clark Luthor vs. Superman? Will you be tuning into the series finale? Until next week when we see Booster Gold make his debut!

In tonight’s brand new episode of CHUCK, a wedding planner scams Chuck and Sarah, something our girl is not too thrilled with.
“We get scammed ourselves, which is horrifying for Sarah Walker because she grew up [with] her dad [who] is a con man,” Yvonne Strahovski told reporters on the CHUCK set last week. “So she got conned and she’s absolutely mortified. Chuck and Sarah go to extremes to find this person who has conned them.”
But that’s not all fans can look forward to.
“I get to sort of go undercover as somebody and I get to do a whole new accent,” she teased. “It’s something I’ve never done. It’s something you’ve never seen Sarah Walker do.”

THE KILLING Preview: ‘A Soundless Echo’

AMC has a brand new episode of THE KILLING tonight and I don’t know about you, but a couple of those characters are looking mighty suspicious to me.
One person I hadn’t really had my eye on was Kris Echols. But after watching the preview scene from “A Soundless Echo,” it certainly appears they want us to consider him a legitimate suspect in Rosie’s murder.

SUPERNATURAL Recap: My Heart Will Go On

It’s been a long six weeks, but the Winchesters are back for the final leg of the sixth (and hopefully not last) season. Ten seconds into the episode I was on edge due to the obvious foreshadowing with the shots of a garage door being propped up, a circular saw, sharp implements and general telltale items that would no doubt unify to form some kind of disgusting death trap. Oh, look at that – decapitated by the door. Nice!
I honestly don’t know what freaked me out more in the first few minutes: the image of Dean driving a Mustang, the sight of Ellen unpacking leeks like it was nothing, or the news that in whatever bizarro land this is, Bobby and Ellen are married! Also, it appears that the Cuban Missile Crisis never happened, because professional presidential birthplace investigator Donald Trump has a casino in Havana!
