Report: NBC Cancels THE EVENT and LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES
May 13, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
With NBC reportedly canceling the freshman series LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES, that leaves just LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT as the potential sole survivor of the long running L&O franchise — assuming NBC renews SVU. (LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT is currently airing its final season on USA Network.)
The news also wasn’t good for the first year sci-fi series, THE EVENT. Despite major pre-air buzz — and a strong start — the series quickly faded and NBC has canned it. However, Deadline is reporting the producers are trying to shop it around to find a way to continue the show.

That Bites! Originally I didn’t think that I would like The Event, but on Halloween I stayed in and watched the first 7 episodes consecutively and I loved it. It’s too bad it’s not being given another chance, hopefully someone else will want it!
I really liked LOLA, but there are so many procedurals on now that I don’t think I’ll miss it too much.
