THE BACHELORETTE Season Premiere: Which Guys Stood Out?

Did anyone tune into the season premiere of THE BACHELORETTE last night?

Oy vey.

I actually really liked Ashley on the last season of THE BACHELOR — despite her paralyzing doubts about her relationship with Brad — so I do hope this season works out for her. But there are some, um, interesting guys in the mix for her heart.

While most of the guys blend together at this point, there were a few who caught my attention during the two-hour premiere and helped established a “do”s and “don’t”s list for being on a reality show…

Do:

  • Give a girl a broken compass pointed towards West if that’s your name. Yes, it might have meant a bit more if he had actually known her and therefore the sentiment held weight, but it was still a cute thing to do.
  • Wear a mask so you know the girl likes you for you, versus your smokin’ hot looks. (Come on, you know that was part of the reasoning behind it.) However, he does lose points because it seems like the darn mask isn’t going anywhere. Plus, he didn’t bust out any songs from “Phantom of the Opera.”

Don’t:

  • Get so drunk you fall asleep mid-cocktail party. Dude, Tim, WTF? That’s the first time I can recall anyone getting booted from the show before the first rose ceremony even occurred.
  • Tell the producers in the first week you don’t like the Bachelorette. Bentley…he’s going to be a troublemaker, isn’t he? I get that he’s going to be “good” TV for the producers, but it seems cruel to let Ashley keep him around given the things he said in this episode and what he says in upcoming episodes. Though, I guess since she had a pre-show warning about him, maybe she should be keeping a closer eye on him.
  • Go for a kiss on the lips during your first meeting, especially if she’s backing away. That’s kind of creepy.

    William for some reason stood head and shoulders above the rest for me. He seems charming, driven and really into her, three very wonderful things to have in a husband to be.

    Sorry, but mask-guy gives me the creeps. I think it would have been acceptable to keep it on until he got the rose, but then he should have revealed his face, and from the previews it doesn’t appear the loss of the mask is coming any time soon.

    I’m a little shocked that Ashley already seems so into Bentley. Maybe she really just does like a little insecurity in her life. Honestly don’t see the attraction there at all.

    Like the wine guy, but wants to give some serious haircuts all around. Nothing wrong with longer hair, but at least keep it neat looking. Some very shaggy dudes this time around.

    All in all, she kept pretty much who i expected her to, with a few minor exceptions. I’m intrigued.
