Report: Fox Cancels TRAFFIC LIGHT and Picks Up I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER

The Fox powers that be have been busy tonight. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Fox has canceled its freshman series TRAFFIC LIGHT and has picked up the new Jaime Pressly comedy, I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER.

IHMTD stars Pressly and Katie Finneran as two women who were tormented by mean girls when they were younger and who now have daughters just like the girls who picked on them in high school. Awkward.

Report: Fox Picks Up THE FINDER, ALCATRAZ and THE NEW GIRL

Deadline.com is reporting Fox has picked up a trio of new shows for the 2011-2012 season.

THE FINDER is familiar to BONES fans, as the show “premiered” as a backdoor pilot last month. The series stars Geoff Stults as Walter Sherman, a former military man who can find anything, but his polarizing personality — including extreme paranoia and blunt questions – makes him difficult to deal with. Walter is assisted on cases by his two partners Ike (Saffron Burrows) and Leo (Michael Clark Duncan). The series is based off “The Locator” novels by Richard Greener and created by Hart Hanson (BONES).

It’s round 3 of Broadsky vs. Booth in Thursday’s brand new episode of BONES and this time, the stakes have never been higher.

Yes, as the Fox promo gods and BONES executive producer Stephen Nathan have teased, one of our own will be taken out in “The Hole in the Heart” and it will understandably impact the entire team.

So what will this final showdown mean for Booth? I talked with David Boreanaz (Booth) before the Paley Center panel honoring BONES and he was willing to dish…

McKinley is going to prom!

That’s right, it’s prom night for those crazy kids on GLEE. After the entertainment for the night falls through, Principal Figgins asks New Directions to step in, which of course illicits objections from prom coordinator Sue (who put her in charge anyway?). The race for prom king and queen also heats up, with many of the glee club kids in the running for the crown.

Tonight also marks the return of Jesse St. James, in the first of his three scheduled appearances.

Check out a teaser from the show!

Any thoughts?

Excited to see Hanks, Jr. in this sort of part?

We were so worried this wasn’t going to happen (um, no, we weren’t), but we’re wiping our brows and exhaling sighs of relief as Fox has renewed HOUSE for an eighth season.

Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, made the official announcemnt today: “Over the past seven seasons, HOUSE has redefined the medical drama and has given us one of television’s most compelling and iconic characters. From the producers to the incredible writers to the unbelievably talented cast and crew, the HOUSE team is fearless in its creativity and I can’t wait to see what they have in store next year.”

We, too, are curious.

Any suggestions, fans?

DANCING WITH THE STARS Recap – Week 8

Comments Off on DANCING WITH THE STARS Recap – Week 8

The commercials before DANCING WITH THE STARS claimed that it was “Latin Night” but there was really no theme. Instead of bringing anything too original to the table, the Instant Dances were back as was the Salsa, which was last seen in season nine — and resulted in a 27, danced by Joanna Krupa & Derek incidentally. And Mya’s performance of the salsa in season 9 was also very good, giving us very high expectations for what a salsa should look like.

As the stars descended from the stairs last night, Hines looked like he wasn’t really in the mood. I was happy to see that someone’s finally gotten to Ralph’s hair, giving him an updated look. Speaking of hair, I realized that I only liked Mark when he had hair. When he shaved it off, it was the beginning of his downfall. He got too cocky and sure of himself. Why couldn’t he be like Samson and just lose his talent too?

By the way, why was Casey Abrams sitting in the audience and, more importantly, why were the producers so excited to put him on screen? He’s not going to perform like Pia Toscano, is he?

But enough gabbing. Let’s get to the performances…

We’ve got quite the full Tuesday night lineup this evening! I’m especially looking forward to watching GLEE go to prom and the Battle Rounds on THE VOICE. I have a feeling THE GOOD WIFE is going to be great as well. What about you?

Check out all of tonight’s offerings here…

Glee | 8pm on Fox
“Prom Queen”
When the entertainment for prom falls through, Principal Figgins asks New Directions to perform at the dance — much to prom coordinator Sue’s dismay. Things get heated as the competition for prom king and queen draws closer.

NCIS | 8pm on CBS
“Swan Song”
After new evidence reveals that the Port-to-Port killer has infiltrated the agency, the NCIS teams chase every lead in a race to track him down.

The Biggest Loser | 8pm on NBC
“Episode 1119”
It’s “Finals Week,” and each contestant will be tested by the trainers to see how much they’ve really learned at “The Biggest Loser” ranch, with the winner claiming a big cash prize. The players get a chance to add to their overall test scores by competing against each other in four difference exercises while playing “The Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout” on Kinect for Xbox 360. Later, the contestants are put to another test with a stair-building challenge involving weighted sandbags. The winner gets a weigh-in advantage that could help determine who makes it to the final four – and who is sent home.

“Flightless Bird, American Mouth”
Nathan, Jamie, Clay, Julian, Chase and Chuck (guest star Michael May) have a camp-out on the Rivercourt. Meanwhile, Brooke, Quinn, Alex and Lauren (guest star Allison Munn) take a trip to Puerto Rico.

THE CHICAGO CODE’s Jennifer Beals Teases Teresa’s Fight Against Gibbons

Comments Off on THE CHICAGO CODE’s Jennifer Beals Teases Teresa’s Fight Against Gibbons

With just one week until Fox decides what its 2011-2012 schedule will look like, if you’ve been meaning to tune into THE CHICAGO CODE, now is the time.

Why should you be tuning in? Series star Jennifer Beals (Teresa) has a good reason for the remaining doubters out there.

“I just think that the story [and] the writing is really fantastic,” she told me earlier today. “It’s fast and it’s smart and you cover the whole spectrum of action and intelligence and I don’t think you get that often on many shows that air on television today.”

Beals speaks the truth. So what’s going on in tonight’s episode for Teresa?

“Teresa is boxed in a corner and she has to figure out a way to get herself out of Gibbons’ box,” Beals teased. “In these last few episodes, we really play out [their dynamic] at warp speed. This episode starts it off and the last few just go like a bullet train. Tonight is seeing what kind of game Teresa can have to deal with the situation.”

Well, we all know Zoey (Jennifer Morrison) isn’t the mother to Ted’s future spawn.

Still, she’s played a pretty big part in this sixth season of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. Tonight, however, might be the last time we see the girl as Ted prepares to make a big decision that will likely affect their relationship.

Good thing he’s got his gang of good friends to help influence said decision.

Barney, Robin, Marshall and Lily will all weigh in on their mixed feelings for Ted’s ladyfriend this evening. Finally. A bold move? Sure. But that’s what close pals are for.

Also, to say stupid sh-t that makes you laugh and allows you to make fun of them for your own amusement. Take a look-see…
