MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘See You Next Fall’

I’m gonna come out and say it – not only do I think that was the most physical comedy from any episode of MODERN FAMILY I’ve ever seen but I think it was the best use of physical comedy from any episode of MODERN FAMILY I’ve ever seen! I also loved that the families interacted organically with each other. And there was reason; they weren’t just thrown there for the sake of being thrown together — they were going to Alex’s middle school graduation. But of course there were bumps along the road.
The first pratfall of the night occurred when Cameron fell into Lily’s blow-up ducky pool. Honestly, I don’t know what he was doing besides walking that made him fall in, but it was a great way to start the show. And of course, Lily had no reaction at all about it. She’s my favorite – all this crazy can be going on around her and she just sits there, stone-faced. Later, at Jay and Gloria’s house he walks into the sliding glass door and then takes the screen door with him as he goes. Did anyone else catch how quite concerned Gloria and Phil were when he did that while the Jay, Claire and Mitchell howled with laughter? Sorry, I’m with the Pritchetts on this one – it was hilarious.

AMERICAN IDOL: Final Three Perform

Hey, AMERICAN IDOL fans! Here we are with the final three, Haley, Lauren and Scotty! In this week of the competition, the contestants sang three times: the first song self-chosen, the second song chosen by coach Jimmy, and the third and final performance of the night chosen by the judges.
I remember an American Masters interview about the Troubadour, and David Crosby said that the true test of a songwriter is the second album. The first record a person makes is the culmination of years of journal writing and inspiration and love poured out. But the second album is the true test — does a singer/songwriter have what it takes?

In tonight’s TOP CHEF: MASTERS Quickfire Challenge, the chefs actually aren’t going to be cooking anything at all! Instead, they have to identify five mystery ingredients using only one of the five senses – taste. Eek!
In the Elimination Challenge, they will be helping a man propose to his girlfriend by cooking a six-course meal that represents various stages in their relationship. Aww!
Check out some preview clips below! I’m warning you, though, there is a bit of blood in the second one when Chef Mary Sue Milliken cuts off the tip of her thumb. Eww!
BONES: David Boreanaz Talks Going Undercover and the Final Scene of Season 6

In Thursday’s season finale of BONES, Booth and Brennan’s investigation into a death at a bowling alley leads the duo to go undercover in order to solve the case. And while the plan was initially to have series star David Boreanaz (Booth) be fitted with prosthetics to age his character for the undercover assignment, time constraints led them to go in a different direction.
I talked with Boreanaz before the Paley Center panel honoring the show about how the new undercover persona came to be and whether that Twitter picture of the setup of the last scene of the season was as spoilery as fans may think it was…

GLEE Recap: ‘Funeral’

After the fantastic prom episode, I was fully prepared to be underwhelmed this week, but I was pleasantly surprised. All thanks to the deliciously bitchy Jesse St. James, awesome solo numbers from all of GLEE’s best vocalists, and a Sue Sylvester storyline that was touching but not overly sappy (as it often can be).
Jesse’s turn as Show Choir Consultant was a brilliant excuse to have him involved in Rachel and rest of the New Directions’ lives. I love that he took a Reality Television class at UCLA. I love that he drew a cat on his notepad instead of jotting down critiques during Santana’s performance. I love that his snide remarks are igniting a fire in Finn, allowing him to man up and make decisions (and help him wake up to his feelings for Rachel). I still can’t trust him as far as I as throw him, or throw my soul into ev-e-ry open door…oh sorry, I was having a flashback to last week’s “Rolling In The Deep.” (I’m OBSESSED with that scene. OBSESSED.)
